I love this place. I'm normally on the road, so I never get a chance to relax. I fiiiiiinally got my break two Sundays ago and I'm almost due for another. They hadn't seen me in about a year, but as soon as I walked in the door: "Your aunt was here yesterday!" Yep. That made me feel kinda special. ^_^ It's been a while, so I noticed the obvious remodel of the place. The atmosphere is much more relaxing. All they need to do now is offer some hot plum and ginger tea. lol I also like how the tv hangs from the ceiling and that it's two-sided. Smart! Tim did my nails that day. I had the spa massage with the extra hot massage stones. Scrubbed my feet up all nice and good. I was very close to falling asleep in the chair. He did an awesome cheetah design on my big toes and I'm not even into animal prints. He also did my acryllic nails. They were perfect and looked almost identical to the picture I had given him. $96 for a pedicure, acryllic nails, and an eyebrow/lip wax. Definitely need to make more time to go back. read more

I live in Sandbridge and sincerely want to give a good review to Color Nails as they were recommended to me By a friend who regularly uses Color Nails. I have tried 4 times To have her same experience. Three out of 4 times were frustrating. First, do not book online. Twice I booked online and showed up for an appointment and ended up waiting for well over a half an hour the first time, then actually left and came back the second time. After asking what the deal was, I was told someone walked in, so walk-ins took precedence over an online booking. I don't think anyone was looking at those, so call for a specific specialist and time. Once finally seated, I opted for a regular pedicure and gel manicure. The specialist seemed surprised I wanted a regular manicure, and told me to walk back up front to pick a regular color. Once up front, The manager tried to talk me in to gel.Crystal did a good job but the wait had been so frustrating...both times. Third time I was a walk in and had a good experience With Tia. . Today, I was a walk in and had a bad experience. After checking in, Someone walked up, did not introduce herself, just motioned me to follow, and never said a word. After being seated and my shoes off, she motioned to me to walk back up front and pick a color for the regular pedicure. There was no real verbal communication at all. She was rushing with the drill, very rough, and nicked my big toe. I jumped a bit and told her, ooh, you got me! I understand things happen, but truly no remorse, nothing. The side cuticle of the big toe was bleeding. She just kept going, didn't even assess. I asked the manager about an antiseptic and he said they have none. He then spoke to the specialist in her language and she shook her head and then grabbed a bottle of something and applied it to the bleeding cut. Whatever it was stung like the dickens! I then opted not to have the polish applied at all with the cut. Upon checking out, I was charged the Full amount even though no polish was applied. Manager came over and asked if I had a question. I told him because of the cut, I did not get the polish. Abruptly, He said polish or no polish, price was the same because I opted for the 2nd level of a pedicure. It was the way he said it So disrespectfully. Again, No apology about the situation. Upon leaving, I walked over to the same manager because this was such poor customer relations and the whole experience was so disappointing. I believe this was a moment to not be bitter, but to maybe help the specialist do better in the future. I tried again to nicely explain that the specialist was rushing, was very rough, and had little interaction or eye contact and that it was not a relaxing experience. I suggested she slow down In the future and be careful. His response was, "I will talk to her." Not even a fake apology or comment on the disappointing experience. The cost of nail care has sky rocketed since Covid and everyone is doing their best to support local businesses. In this case, it is the business who needs to be reminded that the customers are driving their business and the basics of keeping appointments, saying hello, introducing themselves, quality care, and simple communication cannot be dismissed. As a frequent visitor to the area, I've tried other nail salons which I wasn't happy with. I'm so glad I found this place! I'm very picky with nail techs but somehow was lucky enough to get Kathy (apologies if I misspelled) who was absolutely meticulous in her work. I received the most wonderful mani/pedi, and she gives firm massages. The salon is very clean and updated, and all the staff was pleasant to deal with. My only gripe is the nail driers are weak, but I was able to use the ones built into the workstations which work a million times faster. I like having a go-to nail salon in each area I'm in (i.e. near work, home, etc.) and am glad to have found one of the best in VA beach. read more

I've been coming to Color Nails even before new owners took over years and years ago! I see Tin every two weeks for a fill on my digits! I used to always have French tips all through high school and was a regular. Then now in my 20s I now get the colored gel! Tin has been doing my nails since I was about 14, when my mom had finally agreed to let me get them done like hers. Tin always goes above and beyond for me and I am always so grateful. I've done pedicures and fills here for years and also eyebrow waxing! You can't go wrong with Tin! Ive also used Crystal (owner), Linda, and Tommy for all of my services!!! My mom and I were going around from salon to salon and then we found this place. I love them. They are great! We always get an appt w/ Kailyn, Natalie, or Tin. They are so nice and they carry on a conversation with you bc some salons do not and it is awkward. Their selection of gel colors is huge and it is always amusing to try and pick a color each time. While I have been to this place a couple times before and have absolutely loved it...today I do not love it. I normally get Tommy , he is wonderful if you go get him!! Today I got another lady. I do not know her name but she did my pedicure and my manicure. While she was getting the dead skin off my foot with the "cheese grater" she managed to cut my foot and continue on. Not even acknowledging my new booboo. My manicure was okay. I asked for thin French tip and got a thicker French tip. I can't say I will be back. read more

Run! Finished with my pedicure and half way through my mani and I noticed the nail tech had huge warts on both hands. I asked her to put on gloves and she only put on one. No sign of disinfecting equipment. While they were very nice and did a good job, I will be calling department of health tomorrow. read more

Something that you shouldn't feel when going to a nail salon that I felt here were:frustrated, disgusted, and unimpressed. When I walked in I asked for the GEL SHELLAC NAIL MANICURE that is advertised on Yelp for 15 dollars. At the end when I paid they charged me nearly 30 dollars for....yup a GEL SHELLAC NAIL MANICURE. They said that the gel shellac is only for the nail polish...that's pretty ridiculous considering the manicure lasted all of 5 minutes aside from painting my (patchy looking) nails. The girl asked the manager who didn't even look up from her phone even as I showed her the Yelp deal. Just rude about the whole situation. The ABSOLUTE DISGUSTING aspect was the fact that one of the techs had her bare dirty feet resting inside one of the UV light dryers. As I sat down I noticed she had her feet propped up 2 seats down from me and then I looked down and noticed the dirty feet inside. All in all there are far better places with far better staff. the actual pedicure was ok but the entire experience was poor. The foot work was very minimal and certainly not worth $30 that was paid. When they were finished, they pointed in the direction of the door and said sit down over there. I have never been pointed to the dry station at any other salon. They normally assist you to make sure you do not mess up your nails and help you turn on the nail dryer. I have been to alot of salons and this was the very worst. I would not recommend nor return again....this was a birthday gift for my mom but we both left feeling like the service was inadequate. I do not normally write reviews but felt that for the money I spent, it was not even close to worth it. We paid for the extra pedicure service but really only received the bare minimum. read more

Not satisfied the last 2 times I went here. The first time she told me she was going to give me a paraffin wax to my hands and feet, which I did not ask for. I was not sure why, but I agreed. Charged for this and left perplexed as to what just happened. Next time I specifically requested a regular gel mani and pedi.
