My daughter and I came in about five weeks ago to paint a teapot for her mom as a Mother's Day gift. We spent over two hours on it and paid the sitting fee. The piece was supposed to be fired and ready for pickup, and the store was supposed to text when it was done. I never got a text. I came in today to pick it up and was told the piece had been there over a month, and because no one picked it up, they donated it. No call, no text, no email, no warning before it was given away. The only thing offered was a credit toward painting a new piece. Not a refund of the sitting fee. Not the original piece back. Just a credit, after I drove a round trip for nothing and my daughter walked out with no gift for her mom days before Mother's Day. A few things stand out: 1. If the policy is that unclaimed pieces get donated after a month, that needs to be communicated clearly at checkout and a notification needs to actually go out before the piece is given away. 2. A handmade gift from a child to her mother isn't replaceable with a store credit. The whole point was that she made it. read more

The workers here are so so kind and helpful. My bestie and I came for a girls date on a Tuesday and we reserved online ahead of time for a party of 2. Honestly, there wasn't that great of a selection of pottery so it was kind of hard for us to decide. We both ended up choosing to do plates. Maybe it was the day. I absolutely love this place! I've been going here for years. They have a great selection of pottery to choose from along with seasonal pottery and a variety of classes. This place gets a good amount of people, but never too busy. Everyone that works here is super friendly and is always available to help when needed. Once you're seated, the ladies will go over the process with you and will even help you with your paint colors. If you have any questions, they are all knowledgeable and are able to provide suggestions and ideas. They will come by every once in a while to check on you and make sure you have enough paint and will refill your paint when needed. Excellent customer service all around. Also, the turn around time for when your completed ceramics will be available to pick up is less than 7 days. read more

We arrived at 4:30 p.m., and while we were painting, a new staff member came in, rushed us, and informed us that we needed to finish by 6:00 p.m. When we arrived at 4:30 p.m., multiple tables were already painting, and those tables were still working on their pottery when we left. She did not say anything to them only to us. Additionally, her attitude made me feel unwelcome. We came expecting to have a good time, but the experience ended up being unpleasant. read more

We had 15-20 ladies rent the party room. We had 2 hours to pick a ceramic and paint it. They were very informative of the process but it was a little hard to pay attention to the instructors when I kept wanting to talk to friends. Oops My fault. I selected a Santa mug since it looked like the easiest thing to paint for me. So they give you a plate and the list of colors. You have to write the paint color number you want on the plate so they can load you up with paint. Note the paint colors do not look like the colors you selected. You have to wait until it's cooked to see the final color. They recommend you use 3 coats of paint. They do have these little paint pens for fine details and to write something on the back. It was a cute experience but next time I think I would do it earlier in the day and maybe have an idea in kind of what I want to paint. Also, it takes 7-10 days for the final project. So I will post my final piece next week. read more

My family and I had a blast here painting our own pottery. The staff was absolutely amazing and very helpful. We will definitely be going back. Next time however, I will not be doing such a large piece when painting with two kids. It took us longer than the two hours allotted to finish our painting. So I would only recommend doing a larger piece if you have enough time to focus all your time on just your piece of pottery. Can't wait to pick them up in 7 to 10 business days. read more

Came here on a Saturday morning. Reservations are highly advised but it looks like they accept walk ins if it isn't booked. You have the option to paint in the studio (studio fee) or purchase a piece to paint at home. We painted in the studio. Your reservation is about 2hrs long and is self paced. The workers give a great explanation on how to prep your piece and how the colors will look once it is out of the kiln. There are various styles of ceramics and each has a price on the bottom. Once you choose your piece and colors, you just let your creativity flow. My wife chose a jewelry box and I chose a maneki neko (luck cat). There was a nice little discount on the cat because of the lunar new year. Once you are finished you leave your work with them and they will contact you in about 7-10 days to pick up your masterpiece. read more

Color Me Mine is a fantastic studio! They are located inside Village Square on Fort Apache and Sahara, next to Archi's Thai Cafe. Rather than painting on a white canvas, you choose a pottery you like and paint over that. It's a really fun activity and so engaging for all ages! Highly recommend to call first and make a reservation. Upon check in, you'll be instructed to wash your hands prior to touching any items. They do this to ensure covid safety. There's a variety of clay-based pottery to choose from mugs, vases, plates, ornaments, cookie jars, holiday themes, and miniature decor. Inventory changes weekly and the selections are endless! If there is an item you like but you're not ready to paint, you can purchase it on the spot and come back another day. The time allotted for in studio painting is 2 hours. You start with a wet sponge to wipe off any pottery dust before applying paint. You can select up to 5 colors. They also have little paint tubes to use for signature drawing and making fine details. Some projects may take longer than 2 hours and will require another trip back to the studio to finish. Another option is to paint at home. You can request for a to-go kit. Once you're done painting, you return to the studio to drop off the item. They will send out an email notification when it's ready for pick up. The waiting process can take about a week or so before you can see the finished product. You can certainly personalize the item to give as a gift. Just keep in mind the time frame it takes to complete. During my visit, Angelina has been so welcoming, friendly, and very helpful! She is an expert in the realm of paint and pottery. So knowledgeable, she described what items were useful on each shelf. I wanted something small and simple to paint and found myself a donut. After painting, the item is left at the studio to be placed in a kiln for firing. I was able to pick it up in a few days. She had brought a bag with my donut inside and I was so happy! The results turned out great. Best thing about the donut are the shiny sprinkles! I definitely enjoyed this experience and will most likely come back to paint a piggy bank! read more
