I was told my backdrop couldn't be done in two days, I was told that my image's resolution was too small, and other printing shops never responded. Z from RedDot Printing responds within minutes. He told me the same thing about my backdrop's resolution being to low for a huge printout, but what set him apart was that he took the time send me an email on how fix it so that he can print it. Once I fixed the image with his advice he said, "I can get that done in two days." and he delivered! I placed the order midday on a Wednesday and it was ready for pickup by 2:00PM on Friday. Pick up was seamless. He knew exactly who I was without introducing myself, he was friendly, full of personality, and so sweet. He unrolled the backdrop to show me his work and it was PERFECT! His price was cheaper than I imagined especially since this was a last minute request. I found my exact cartridge for my ink pen and was super stoked to find a combo pack which dropped the price down significantly. These were obviously something meaningful to us, and we simply wanted them printed in the same manner that we had previously received from another Staples location. Unfortunately, our interaction with an employee named Raj was frustrating from the beginning. His tone was consistently abrasive, dismissive, and at times condescending. Whenever we asked for assistance, we were made to feel as though we were inconveniencing him or simply did not understand what we were doing. We were repeatedly directed toward the self-service kiosk despite specifically needing assistance with our order. The most frustrating part of the experience involved the pricing. We had previously placed a very similar order at another Staples location and were charged a different price for what we were requesting. We even showed Raj our Staples receipt and explained exactly what we had paid and what we had received. Rather than taking the time to understand the discrepancy or help us find a solution, he immediately seemed unwilling to believe us or honor what we had previously been charged. His explanation also seemed to continually change. At different points, we were given different reasons for why it couldn't be done, why the pricing would be different, or why what we were requesting would supposedly take an excessive amount of time. We repeatedly explained that we understood if it took longer and that we were willing to wait because this was specifically what we wanted for our wedding invitations. Instead of helping us figure out how to place the order, it felt as though we were continually being given reasons why he did not want to do it. That was especially frustrating because we weren't simply claiming that another Staples had done something differently. We had the receipt and the previous finished product to show exactly what we had ordered, received, and paid for. I completely understand that pricing, printing options, or procedures can sometimes vary, and if there was a legitimate reason the previous price could not be honored, we would have been happy to hear a clear explanation. What was unacceptable was the dismissive attitude, the unwillingness to genuinely investigate the issue, and the explanations seemingly changing throughout the conversation. We came into Staples excited to work on a small but meaningful part of our wedding. Instead, we left feeling frustrated and unwelcome. Customers should not be made to feel foolish or burdensome simply because they need assistance, especially when they are calmly providing documentation and trying to understand a pricing discrepancy.
