On June 7th, my elderly mother and her husband visited this location for breakfast and were treated with absolute disrespect. While they were eating, a server approached and asked if the prescription glasses on the edge of the table belonged to my mother because another customer had reported her Versace sunglasses as missing. My mother explained that the glasses were hers, they were prescription tinted lenses -- not sunglasses -- and definitely not Versace. The server came back two additional times, asking if she was "sure" the glasses were hers. Again, she confirmed that they were. The server then approached her table for a THIRD time and brought the other customer over to check for herself. The other customer confirmed the glasses belonged to my mother. All of this happened in front of a restaurant full of people. It was invasive, disrespectful, and completely out of line. They still have breakfast buffet for those who like a big breakfast, $10 for all you can eat compared to a platter at other restaurants for $12 and you leave hungry. Bacon, country ham, sausage patties, home style potatoes. Scrambled eggs, gravy , biscuits, etc. lots of seating inside with 4 areas to allow you extra space if you want it. Service is fast and friendly, definitely got my money's worth. Food has good taste and is fresh. Give it a try if you wake up hungry. read more

We are from west central Indiana and spent June 5th - 9th in Russellville and found this little Gem. The service was amazing, and everyone was so friendly. We never went without a full cup of coffee! We ate there everyday, and had the buffet on Friday night. The food is outstanding. Our last morning there, some Angel picked up our bill! Thank You so much! My friend and I arrived 30 minutes before the 7:00 closing time tonight. We were first-time visitors. When we arrived at 6:30, workers were rushing to close. Floors were being swept near tables where people were eating and near the buffet. We had heard and read good things about the buffet. Since it looked good, we assumed it would be a safe bet- we love a good buffet of Southern cooking as much as the next Southerner. No one greeted us when we sat down. I had to ask an employee who was tending the buffet if we could just help ourselves. She said "Yes." Even after we located the silverware for ourselves and were eating, it took a while for a woman to come over and take our drink orders. The buffet hot bar food was cold at least 30 minutes before closing. We wondered, how long has it been cold? Granted, the salad bar had crispy, green lettuce. The other toppings and dressing were good. It was the best part of the meal. I was shocked when the server returned with our bill, and I realized that each of us had been charged $13.99 per person for one plate of cold food. Granted, we should have asked how much the buffet was, and we probably should have said something when we realized we had cold food. As they say, "Hindsight is better than foresight." It saddens me to have to leave a negative review. I don't generally do that but, it felt like the restaurant had already closed a long time before we got there at 6:30. Yikes. Cars in the parking lot is not always a good sign. A buffet with minimal choices and if you want the salad buffet with the hot food buffet it will be extra. Not that the salad buffet was special looking. Iceberg lettuce, some vegetables and what looked like a potato salad. Hot buffet with fried chicken and looked like short ribs? Side choices were mashed potatoes, lima beans, pinto beans, a few other vegetables, bread...not much else. Oh and a sign above that read..Only two meat items per plate. This place is where you want to be for a terrific, common, ordinary meal. They do what most family style restaurants do, they just do it better. I am hard to please, but these folks did not screw up my day. Everything I ate was much better than average. It was a buffet, and a very good one. Their fried chicken is as good as it gets. Where else do you find stuffed bell peppers on a buffet line? I am looking forward to a return trip, very soon. Incidentally, the price is small compared to other venues like this. Best chicken ever and always consistent, served every day. My other favorites are Breaded Pork Chops, Chicken Gizzards and Liver & Onions, served on specific days. You can call and find out what is on the buffet. Also the best and consistent is the Cooked Apples. Service is also very good. This is true Southern food the way it should be. read more
