I had an exceptional experience with Collision Experts. What brought me to them is that I had damage done by a tire shop. My new to me Genesis GV70 SUV was floor jacked in the wrong area which caused damage to my side step and lower molding. I owned my car a little over 1 month and the side step was installed 2 weeks after ownership. Thankfully the tire shop took responsibility for the damage and sent me to Collision Experts. With my car being fairly new (2023) and new to me as a recent purchase, my intentions were to take it to Genesis and have them do the work. After going to the shop, seeing the facility and meeting Auday the owner, David and Sarena, I felt confident that they would do an exceptional job, just like the dealership, which they did not disappoint. I will also say the shop is extremely clean and organized and they also have an area for painting and baking the paint so the results are excellent. If you want work that is done correctly and done correctly the first time, you will want to consider going to them. Also the communication is awesome. I was kept in the loop by Auday and Sarena so we were always on the same page and I understood the process and knew what to expect. I highly recommend this body shop to do quality work. This is a review for Collission Experts and David Perez. I recently got my 2023 BMW X5 M crunched from a rear end collision and had my insurance company tow it to them versus their preferred auto body shop. I called Collission due to being highly rated on Yelp and David Perez was genuinely nice over the phone and said he would take care of evertything. Unfortunately, my father n law who was a mechanic recommended that i take my car to a certified BMW collission auto shop so quickly had my insurance company pivot to them versus Collission Experts. I would have been confident that Collission would do excellent work but cant argue with my father n law. After a couple days, I found out my insurance company did not tow the car to the BMW auto shop but instead still took it to Collission. David called me saying my car was there and i had to explain to him what happened. David could have easily been disappointed with my decision and charge me the 3 days of storage fees but he was unbelievably understanding and waived the fees. I had the car towed out of Collission since my insurance company was slow but out of respect and obligation to David and his team. He only asked that i consider Collission if there ever was a need. I hope i dont get into anymore accidents but will keep them in my cell phone if me or anyone in my family, friends or clientelle need an auto body shop referral. I thank David for his professional approach and understanding and hope i can make it up to him in the future. I cannot praise collision experts enough! I'd give them 10 stars if I could. My car was in the shop because someone switched lanes into me and sideswiped my front end. Since they already had to do paint work with the collision repairs, I decided to go through my insurance to repair where some rando had keyed my car. My paint is not an easy match. It is very multidimensional and has lots of different colored flecks/glitter in it. They did such a good job with paint matching, I truly can't tell a difference between my original Toyota paint and where they painted. My car hasn't looked this good since I bought it brand new five years ago. Not only that, every single person I spoke to was extremely kind at every turn. They were always quick to answer my questions and were so nice to me anytime I stopped by. Special thanks to Serena, Gabriel, and Auday. The team at Collision Experts is nothing short of what their name states. I'm glad I found them and they took care of my car quickly. I was referred here by a close friend that helps me keep my vehicles detailed. He knows how particular I am as there are only a couple shops in San Diego that I trust with my cars: Amatos, Philip Thearle and now I can proudly say, Collision Experts. I'd consider myself quite particular (to the point of being annoying) when it comes to anything that has to do with my cars. The first sight of a light ding (seen only with sunlight at a 30 degree angle @ 2:44pm with your head tilted, & one eye closed), I will call the number on speed dial to fix the ding. Oh a light surface scratch caused by some my son's finger? -- whip out the buffer, polish and lets get to paint correcting. Yes -- I'm O C D. So when it comes to something a body shop needs to handle -- with or without insurance, I will NOT go the discount route. Sure, you can find another body shop to handle things "cheaper", but you will get what you pay for. Poor workmanship, shoddy products/paint/clear coat, etc.. You name it, the corners are cut with the cheapest estimate. I understand everyone's situation is different, and we can't always afford "the best". But also understand this was BY FAR NOT MY HIGHEST ESTIMATE either. It was fair, and right in the middle. Ok -- So lets get into my particular situation. I purchased a brand new Toyota Tacoma with only 5 miles on it that was dented by a shipping/delivery truck. The damage was gnarly and needed body work. You know the new car feeling you're supposed to have at delivery? Well -- That was robbed from me... Until today. When picking up my truck after auto body (tailgate) repairs from Collision Experts, I received that GOOEY FUZZY "NEW CAR" FEELING. I said to myself, "Everything is perfect!" The damage was gone with ZERO signs it was there in the first place. No orange peel, no worn plastic parts being reused, no weird parts not closing/opening properly. They made it a FACTORY FINISH. Communication Integrity Rates **As a young woman alone, I did not feel uncomfortable, used, misguided or unsafe I picked up my vehicle a week ago now, all the repairs and mechanics of my car are great! The work appears to be of quality and my vehicle isn't presenting anything of questionable performance. (Bumper replacement, fender replacements, &door work) Communication with ETAs/updates were extremely appropriate and timely. Plus I noticed they set the cars clock for me, after rebooting its system.. that was just really cool of them. Very nice, honest people here. I called about a chip in my windshield and Auday said to bring it over. I could only make it there at lunch time and he said he would wait for me. When I got to the office Auday stopped what he was doing and came over to meet me and look at my windshield. He said the chip was too deep and old to fix. Spectacular work. My wife backed my Durango down the wall of a parking garage. The damage appeared to me to be the same amount that my deductible would have to cover. I got a couple of quotes - $600 from Hawley, $800 from Chapperone. A buddy who works in the auto repair world told me that he sends all body work to CollEx (Collision Experts) in Lemon Grove, and that the work and price is always great. I went in, got a quote for $400. The next morning I dropped off my truck. Two days later I picked it up. The work was flawless. Stunning. The bill was a total of $400 (including tax). The owner of the place (who wasn't around when I picked up) called me two hours after I left to make sure I was happy with the work. I'm a tough reviewer. (See my other stuff). I'm waaaay overdue writing this review. I took my Honda Ridgeline here with some significant damage on the front left side - hood, quarter panel, lights, etc. They were pretty busy, and it was close to Christmas so I knew it would take a little while. But Auday had the estimate and the work with the insurance company done very quickly. He's very professional, the shop is really clean, and my truck looks like new. The alignment of everything, color matching, pin striping, all excellent. I had one issue, that my horn sounded strange when I got it back. It turns out the low note portion of my horn had fallen out after the collision (and before I got it to Auday). So they didn't know it was missing, and once I pointed that out he was right on it and got that replaced too. I hope I never need this kind of repair again, but if I do I'm going back to Collision Expert. read more
