Fajita Taco Salad (beef)
Renee S.

I've been to this place quite a few times over the years when my son attended Western Carolina University. This family owned business is always bustling especially on weekends. Service is prompt and fast. It's a tiny place so the tables are quite close to each other but that has never seemed to bother me. This is the only place where I've eaten that has a Fajita Taco Salad. You have your choice of chicken or steak. It is full of green and red bell peppers, onion and the best part: classic Mexican cheese dip. This dip takes the salad to a whole new level. It's a different, yet delicious, take on your regular taco salad. I was able to swap out guacamole for extra sour cream. This is our family's go to spot for Mexican when we're in town. It never disappoints.

Wow! What a wonderful little spot in the middle of a small mountain town. We were seated immediately which was a blessing on graduation weekend. The service was excellent. She greeted and got our drink orders off the bat and then brought chips and salsa. We ordered and within 10 minutes - bam! Our food arrived. I ordered the pollo chipotle. A chicken breast topped with onions and chipotle sauce. Paired with rice, beans and tortillas. It was SOOOOO good. I created two perfect little tacos and was completely satisfied. And the sangarita - don't get me started. So yummy. So glad we came to this place!

Chicken flautas, chile poblano, hard beef taco. Amazing!

Very good fast service. Alot of choices in Mexican, but this is where the locals/raft guides eat. Should tell you all you need to know!

Enchiladas

Went to Colima for a late lunch on Cinco De Mayo while vacationing in North Carolina. The waitress was very friendly and welcoming. The margarita was delish and the enchiladas were flavorful. Prices for drinks and food were reasonable. I will definitely return to Colima Mexican Restaurant if in the area again!

Salsa in a syrup thingy??

This place was very overcrowded. The salsa was dispensed from a syrup dispenser. The "salsa bar" they had was not very kept up either. When I was served my question for the chips it was on the cold side. My food ( I ordered a combo number 8) it was soggy. Like it had been sitting for a while. The chicken had good flavor and my friend liked her chicken tenders and fries.

Easily my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Best margaritas by far! I've never had a bad experience here.

I took part in the soft opening today for Cafe '64 for both breakfast and lunch, and it was…read moredelicious! I had a Southwest Burrito, which is a tortilla stuffed with scrambled eggs, grilled onions and red bell peppers, bacon, sausage and cheese, and it was HUGE! The price was fantastic at $3.25 - definitely a terrific value. For lunch, I had a Grilled Cheese Medley panini grilled on sourdough with garlic butter, a cup of tomato bisque and a side of macaroni and cheese (because cheese) - the total was $8.01. The sandwich was perfectly grilled - golden, crunchy and crusty on the outside and warm and gooey on the inside with cheddar, provolone and pepper jack cheeses. Beautiful cheese pull and mouth feel. The bisque was thick and creamy, and had diced pieces of fresh tomato. The mac and cheese tasted like homemade real (not boxed) mac and cheese, not too dry and not too gooey - just right. Ther service was quick and friendly, and the chefs are more than willing to make prepare your food to your specifications. This is a cafeteria style restaurant, not full-service with wait staff. The dining area was bright and airy with lots of windows and natural light. The dining area has both large booths that could seat six and tables and chairs. On the walls are old photos of the college from its earlier years interspersed with photos of the current college. The food was delicious, the chefs talented and accommodating and the atmosphere cheerful and interesting. I highly recommend Cafe '64 and will be a regular!
