And this location did it right, at least when I dropped on in on a recent Saturday afternoon. I stumbled upon this place while stopping to get gas at the Chevron station. The gas station is a combo Circle K and KKC. They share the exact same space. I didn't know that since from the outside there are two separate doors and signage. But walk into either door and it's one big shared space. Before COVID, there were tables and chairs for eating inside and outside on the side patio. Anyway, you get your food at the KKC counter and take it to the Circle K counter to pay. Take the containers with you, the cashier needs to see the codes that are written on the containers to ring you up. TIP: For sanitary reasons, I suggest not putting your containers on the Circle K counter. Just hold up the containers so the cashier can see the codes. When I dropped in, the KKC counter was stocked up on what looked to be everything. Wings, breasts, thighs, tenders, fries, fish, shrimp, biscuits, and sides. The counter and glass display window was super clean as well as the floor. The food was neatly organized and arranged in the case. Everything looked quite appetizing. Kudos to the crew. The counter person wore a face covering. She was super helpful. Pricing was inexpensive. 5 wings (parts like a drummette, not a whole wing) was $5.50. I ordered that and a thigh $2.30. After sanitizing my hands, I ate the thigh right away in the parking lot. Ohhh it was hot, meaty, juicy, and Krunchy. Delicious crackly Krunchy fried coating with that zingy signature Cajun seasoning. I ate the wings the next day... zapped them a bit in the microwave. Still tasty! #krispykrunchychickenauburn #kkcinacirclek

We picked this location hoping for convenience(I was just released from the hospital from a major surgery). It was easy to pull into the gas station parking lot. The doors on the right were directly in front of the counter to get your Krispy Krunchy Chicken. As we walked in, we noticed an employee sitting at the table with a patron or two. Maybe on break. As we proceeded to the counter, another employee chatting it up with someone else was standing at the counter. We noticed their hot case was mostly empty. So when we asked if they were making more chicken, she said, "Nope. That was it for the day and all we have are sandwiches and biscuits." Disappointed because it was barely after 3, we walked out. I told my mom I would settle for something else, but instead, my mom suggested we the Penryn location and called to make sure they had some. They offered to make us a fresh batch because we drove 18 miles for it... then drove home. This location could learn a thing or two from the Penryn location about not being lazy and what it means to have a job in customer service. This location is an absolute complete fail.

Try all the flavors they offer, you're guaranteed to find a favorite. I've ordered bone in and boneless chicken and both are moist, juicy and large portion. Crispy padak (lightly sauced and piled with green onion) and yangnyeom (sticky savory sweet chili) are my favorites. My brothers favorites were the regular crispy and honey butter which to me is reminiscent of kettle corn. We also enjoyed their veggie japchae ($13), kimchi fried rice ($7), and beef gimbap ($10). Their chicken combo meals are a great bargain starting at $14. I usually have leftovers when I get that. Staff at this branch are very nice, politely answered my questions and the restaurant itself is tidy. Building is tucked away in a tiny plaza next to the tokyo cream shop. This was on 7/25/26:…read more The service was not great. Immediately when we walked up the cashier, which was a young lady, at the front was not welcoming and didn't greet us, she was very dismissive, making us sound dumb for paying with cash because they didn't have enough change in their drawer. I had a party of 6 placing orders, and 4 of us were able to get our orders taken but the last 2 in our group, also under the age of 14, were denied service because they were closing for lunch, which seemed extremely unprofessional because the cashier upfront also knew that we came in as a group because there were no other people taking orders, but us. We were confused and frustrated because they have a sliding door so there was no signage that they were closing at 3 until they slid the door to close the shop. If we knew, we wouldn't have placed orders. They close at 3 and reopen at 4 for their lunch, but I just wish the cashier would've at least gave us a notice because we didn't have the time to wait another hour to just place an order for the rest of our party. I went in asking for a refund so we can get food elsewhere that will cater to our whole party of 6 because it felt wrong to just eat in front of the other 2 people in our group. I was denied a refund by the cashier because they already "started making our order" is what she said. I still requested to have a refund made and she rolled her eyes and went to the back to grab her manager, and to compensate the manager said they would add an extra $1 sauce, or a $3 drink.. Our order itself was $48 and the others, $54 so that just didn't seem to fix the problem that we had. Since we were denied a refund, we just agreed on them adding a bit more things into our order. They added an extra side of mozzarella sticks which we didn't order, which kind of compensated... We ended up just sharing each other's order with the other two that didn't get an order placed.. we were still hungry after that and had to get food still elsewhere. The manager also tried to clear up the problem by just laughing it off and said something along the lines of "we good amigo?" (we had a spanish speaking person in our group) once they walked to the back room for lunch. It also rubbed us the wrong way because it was very dismissive and made it seem like our problem wasn't a big deal. So overall, the food was good.. the service was just horrible. I understand the need to take a lunch break because they deserve one, but it was just the bad service, bad compensation, and the cashier at the front not giving us a notice, and overall being rude.

Anyway, I work around the corner from this spot in Dixon - came in on a rainy day after work, so it didn't seem as packed as it normally was. Ordered for pickup. Large order of loaded tots, and 15 wings. No wonder it cost as much as it did. When I got home and opened my trays I was pleasantly surprised at the portions (tots and fries) and the size of the wings. These wings are big boy wings - still a good size to scarf down in one or two bites, but incredibly meaty and significantly bigger than the wings from other spots - Wingstop, Fire Wings, etc. Flavor-wise: much like your standard fare. Decent flavor, but nothing notable. The only thing is that these guys here don't skimp on the sauce. Very generous portions, again. The wings were coated very well. I will be returning to this spot to order smaller portions, because I underestimated these orders severely.

I immediately called to notify the restaurant, but I was told the only way to receive a refund was to drive back that evening. I politely explained this and requested a refund for the missing items, but the staff refused. They also declined to provide their names or connect me with the manager, which felt very unprofessional. My family and I are frequent Wingstop customers--my husband and son especially enjoy it--but this experience was extremely disappointing. Not only was my order incorrect and delayed, but the lack of understanding and refusal to provide a simple refund for the missing items was frustrating and discouraging.

So there I was... sitting on an oil rig in Alaska, talking to a sheriff's deputy with over 20 years…read moreon the job. He says, "My buddies keep telling me about this place called Pho King Good." Funny part? Even he had never been there. Well, that little story stuck with me. Fast forward a few weeks. My road trip partner, Koda, and I are heading home from Disneyland, cutting through Sacramento toward Grass Valley. We roll into Auburn and BOOM there it is. Pho King Good. Now let's just take a second to appreciate that name. If you're gonna swing for the fences with a name like Pho King Good, you've set the bar about as high as Mount Everest. You don't get to be "pretty decent." You'd better make me question every bowl of pho I've ever eaten. The sign? Absolutely iconic. It practically jumps out and hollers at you from the side of the road. Easy in, easy out. Road-tripper approved. Walking inside, though, I was expecting a little more "Pho King Palace" and a little less "we've been meaning to remodel since the Clinton administration." The marble counter looked nice enough, but the place just felt like it needed a little love. If I owned a restaurant with a name that good, I'd lean into it. Give me lanterns. Give me atmosphere. Make me feel like the King just walked in. Charge me another couple bucks if you have to I wouldn't mind if the experience matched the name. Then came the menu. It felt a little like Dysfunction Junction. They had everything listed, but it wasn't organized in a way that made ordering easy. Give me sections. House Pho. Beef Pho. Chicken Pho. Special Pho. Help a hungry traveler out. The food? Solid... right down the middle of the road. After hours in the car, a hot bowl of pho hits the spot no matter what. Koda really enjoyed his chicken dish, and our vegetable egg rolls with the peanut sauce were decent, although the wrapper was just a touch on the rubbery side. The owner was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely hospitable, which always counts for something. My only real disappointment was this: with a name like Pho King Good, I expected to leave saying, "That's the best pho I've ever had." Instead, I left saying, "That was... good." And then came the plot twist. Time to pay. Cash only. So now I'm walking out to the ATM like I'm making a withdrawal for a back-alley poker game or a dispensary run. I'm standing there thinking, "Well... this tip just took a hit because I wasn't planning on paying an ATM fee for my noodles." I still don't quite understand it. You're giving change, printing receipts, running a business... we're already 95% of the way to taking cards! Overall, this wasn't about whether the food was amazing or terrible. It was about the experience. Sometimes that's the story worth telling. Would I stop again on another road trip? Probably. Because sometimes a bowl of pho, your best buddy Koda riding shotgun, and a restaurant with the greatest pun in California are all you really need. And if they ever decide to polish the place up and make it live up to that legendary name... It might just become Pho King Great.

VEGAN SIGHTING!!! I…read moredon't even know where to start my fellow vegans. This quirky, Vietnamese restaurant in the city of Auburn, CA, has by far the best vegan Banh Mi sandwich. The tofu was prepared so it did not take up the whole sandwich. The pickled radish and carrots had the perfect and balanced of sour and sweet. Of course, can't leave out the herbs of cilantro and fresh jalapinjoes. The french bread was crispy outside but still soft and hearty as you take a bite. My earth was it a 2 thumbs up!!! Then their vegan pho with veggies and tofu did not disappoint. Their veggie broth was perfectly blended and made wonderfully that I was not even thinking this was vegan. The staff was kind and informative. They were attentive and friendly. Then comes the merch. If you like a play on the word Pho, then come and check out their shirts for sale. All I have to say is "Life is Pho king good." With this said, another gem in Auburn, CA.
