My daughter was scheduled for haircut and style on the day of prom. The stylist told her she did not have time to curl her hair. What a complete waste of time and money! Management is a total joke, and resolved nothing. The only thing they could say was your daughter seemed happy when she left. This happened in Eagan station on Saturday 28,2026. I am really disappointed at front desk management. I have been going for almost 7-8 years. Never happened like this before Extremely unprofessional experience. I arrived on time for my appointment and was left waiting for over 30 minutes with no communication. When I asked, I was told I could reschedule--as if my time didn't matter. The reason given was that a previous bridal appointment ran late. That is not the customer's responsibility. If schedules run behind, communicate and manage it properly. I had planned my day around this appointment, and this level of disregard is unacceptable. This reflects poor management and lack of respect for customers' time. Big salon chains may not care about individual experiences, but this should not be normalized. read more

The price I was forced to pay for a cut color and a wax was absolutely unreal. I walked out of there and paid over $400 setting which included tip for a cut color in an eyebrow wax. It is no different than what I have received at other beauty salons when I booked the service online it said starting price for the cut color was $185 and the eyebrow wax was $40. That alone I thought was excessive, but I thought I would give it another try as I've been there to this individual before. At no time did she tell me any of the other things she was doing? Would it be an add-on cost so you can imagine my surprise, shock and disgust when she told me it was $375. The stylist was good, but not so good that I'm willing to pay that ever again. I have been going to Cole's Salon and Spa for multiple years now. I am a loyal customer of Cole's Salon and Spa because this place is AMAZING. I usually get my eyebrows done and always get my hair done as well every time I go there. Everyone from Cole's who I trust doing my eyebrows, have always impressed me and always done exceptional work. They all make me feel safe and comfortable before, during, and after the experience. I have been seeing my hair stylist Emily for a little over a year now, and have always left feeling better than when I came in. Emily is very attentive to my individual needs and works with me to make me feel comfortable with trusting her with my hair. Emily is very knowledgeable and she is very kind to me always. I try to see Emily every 3 months for a haircut, color, or just overall hair maintenance. All of the staff at Cole's salon are highly professional, but they also value building personal relationships with their clients. I will definitely keep coming back here. read more

I had hair extensions moved up a couple of weeks ago. They were originally placed at a salon in NC about 4 1/2 months ago and the hair had grown out quite a bit (they recommend advancing them every 8-10 weeks so I was overdue). Since I am in MN now, I had to find someone here and chose this salon which is quite close to my house and seemed to have acceptable reviews. Big mistake. Four months with no problems and the beautician who worked with me (and who shall remain nameless) even said they looked well cared for. Instead of the slight tugging feeling on my scalp after placement I was used to they were PAINFUL and within a few days the hair they were sewn to came out by the roots and I had a bald spot and my extensions were flapping loose. . I bear some responsibility for this: should have called sooner to ask for a revision as something clearly wasn't right from the get-go, I was working so it was a few days before I could call. I went in for re-evaluation and was told I must be pulling my ponytail too tight or sleeping on it funny. I don't pull it back and didn't have anything happen to the extensions for the first 4 months I had them! Because it had been more than a week, they were going to charge me full service price to fix it as well. I called the salon to discuss this and they hung up on me. I called back to speak with a manager and she's too busy to take my call but will call me back tomorrow (as if!). This is not the way to treat clients. ADDENDUM:To my surprise the manager did call me back to discuss the problem the following day and tried hard to make things right. The receptionists who took my calls were polite and concerned (although the first one did not call back after the call dropped; she apparently didn't hang up on me). We were able to reach a mutually satisfactory solution to the problem. I was still pretty traumatized by the whole thing, but in general, it seems like if something goes wrong, they are invested in making it right. That is good news. read more

By the time they were done with her shoulder length virgin hair they had gotten a little under $600 from me. This particular place was a huge, costly, and heartbreaking experience for the both of us. I was charged $52 for a classic manicure which was advertised as: Relax and enjoy our classic manicure service which includes shaping of the nails, a cuticle treatment and exfoliation with our hot towel followed by a hand and arm massage, followed by a polish.' There was no exfoliation, no massage. I also included a detailed note when I booked regarding sanitation methods but it seemed that it was ignored as my concerns were not addressed at all. Was I being a bitch to even ask about it? I explained in my note why I was concerned ( real health issues) so this seemed inconsiderate to ignore it. I expressed my concerns quietly as I checked out-and I still tipped. Smaller nail salons charge less-take note! Also, the kind of clientele this salon seems to attract are the suburban white women that are much of the problem these days. Hated hearing the racist complaints that were happening next to me and kicking myself for not knowing how to respond. Update: the manager called and we discussed. I booked a Gel Polish and Buff which is not the same as the Classic Mani so I didn't get the mani service but paid the lower charge. It *should* have been more since I had dip polish I wanted removed, but wanted regular polish applied. Truly I should have been charged $55 more to remove that dip. (?). All of this and more I explained could have been cleared up easily with the technician communicating up front the service I booked etc. as well as communicating that indeed the note had been received. I really wanted to give this salon and my stylist an amazing review, and I was going to, but I had a 13 hour drive to my home in NYC to think about it and I changed my mind. First, let me say that the salon is nice, my stylist was nice, everything was nice. I mean, it's hard to say anything bad about midwesterners, they really ARE nice, but not a $55 blowout nice. Heather was my stylist and before I saw her I called in and described my hair to a tee (I've done this a million times) and they said Heather could do my hair. Heather also called me and talked to me at length about my hair so it was not a surprise when I got there.I went in and met Heather and I showed her many photos of how I wanted my hair. They showed very smooth, very flat hair with a slight bend. She began with the disclaimer that they were not a blow out bar. I had mentioned that I was a member of one in NYC, but that I had my hair done many, many times by stylists at salons and not blow out bars. The photos I showed were done by stylists, not people who only specialize in blow outs. She seemed to think that there was a difference. I have not found there to be. At any rate, and to scale the review back a bit, the blow out I got was horrible. It was full of body, no bend on the end, just straight, frizzy looking hair (I had JUST had a hair cut, there was no reason for my ends to look all frizzed out except that she didn't know how to smooth them (I have naturally curly hair). She also used a blow dryer without the attachment on the end that guides the heat onto the hair. It was just blowing everywhere. I should have stopped there. How can you do a flat, sleek blowout like that? Normally if the blow out is a reasonable price I'll be disappointed, whatever, but I have lived in NYC for 10 years and have not ever paid $55 for a blow out. Actually, I have gotten my hair blown out all over this country (I travel for work a LOT) and have never paid that much. There is literally no justification to charge that much for a blow out when you aren't even proficient at blowing out hair. If you can only blow out one type of hair you should probably lower your rates because you aren't that advanced, honestly. The blow out also took FOREVER. It should take no more than 45 minutes to blow out my hair the way I want it. I know this because I get my hair blown out at least 2-3X a week. This took like an hour and a half. I was stunned. She also had to flat iron my hair really straight, which I liked, but don't do much because that much heat will tear my hair up, but at least it was somewhat like I wanted it. My big gripe with this salon is just how bad the blow out was before flat ironing and the prices. This salon sits in the middle of what looks like corn fields and isn't even in Minneapolis! Who is paying that much for this stuff? I live in a metropolitan city and would never go back to this place again if I lived here. Rent can't be that high, you know? I can call myself a master salesman and ask for 300K a year, but I'm not going to get it if I can't sell every product I purport to know about. They should learn that lesson. Ridiculous. Horrible experience!!! went in for a cut and color. I was done in 1 hour and :15 minutes. I asked the stylist if she had any ideas for a new style. Her response was...thats really hard since I don't know your personality. Worst cut ever! And the color....after 1 week my grays were back. I had friends comment they thought I was getting my hair colored...yes, it's noticeable. And..I was told she was an Advanced Designer which is why I was charged a higher price. Pay the extra few $ and go somewhere that takes good care of you, LISTENS to what you want and doesn't leave you with tears when you look in the car mirror. I went to Coles for a color and seriously could not be happier! I love the look of the more natural, balayage highlights but had been told by other stylists that I needed to do an all over color first in order to achieve that look, which I didn't want to do. Oh my goodness I don't even know where to start! So let's start at the beginning! Everyone there seemed so nice, even the girls at the front desk. I had Danielle cut and balayage my hair and she was so diligent in her work and gave me exactly what worked best for me. She was super sweet throughout the entire process and made sure that I loved my cut and color before I walked out. She made sure to ask me how I styled my hair so that it could look it's best with day to day activities. Jamie B is by far the best stylist I have ever had! I'm not one to know *exactly* what I want and know specifics, but can give her a few general ideas of what I want in the end. She always exceeds expectations and seems to read my mind to know what I pictured in my head but couldn't quite describe! Jamie knows her stuff and can give many tips on what to do with bangs, what length and/or color to go with, and even what product to use if you have picky hair! I had recently scheduled for layering to be done on my very long copper dread-locks; But, to my astonishment they refused to serve me because I have dreads (like they are "not normal"). I have spent thousands of dollars at Coles on market place 42 and am disgusted with the way I was mistreated. I have noticed this salon has ZERO-no ethnic diversity within the work place, zero diversity scared me away for life. My significant other and children got me a Christmas present for a day to pamper myself at this Salon. Hair, nails, whatever I wanted. They made the appointment, I went in 5 days prior for a consultaion and they said I would be well taken care of. After 5 1/2 hours of complete misery. I have spent my whole holiday crying. The nightmare began with the so-called professional Trish. I showed her a picture of what I wanted. Long, beautiful layers. SHE CHOPPED ALL MY HAIR!!!!! I WENT IN WITH ALL ONE LENGH HAIR TO MY WAIST AND LEFT WITH PART OF MY HAIR THAT JUST GOES TO THE BASE OF MY HEAD. THE COLOR LOOKED LIKE A 14 YEAR OLD PLAYING WITH COLOR AT HER FRIENDS HOUSE. She then just left me sit in the chair and never came back. 4 other stylists had to recolor my hair and TRY to fix whatever cut she did to me. After being bounced around from stylist to stylist, never got my nails done, and left in tears. I have been crying since. I spent my life growing my hair and TRISH took it all away from me without even an apology. The other stylists were nice, tried their best to fix it and I thank them. I went into the salon for a cut & color for the second time within a ten week span. The stylist I used did a amazing job. She was efficient & my hair looks nice. What is disappointing is December I paid $135.00 on January 23, 2013, I paid $148 not including tip. Appartently, Cole's Salon raised took a price increase on all their services to cover cost of providing health insurance to their employees. I called a few salons & it seems that Coles is the only Salon that raised their prices. I already pay for my own insurance & feel I can get a great hair cut & color elsewhere with out subsidy health care benefits for employees. With revenue over $14 million dollar, I can't understand why Cole's Salon would want their customers to pay for the employees health care benefits. I think I try Rocco who actually pays for health care benefits without making customer subsidy for his employees. I hear he appreciate the value of customer service & customer relationships. read more

Really disappointed in customer service here. I got a mani for my wedding and was just not satisfied with the color. The mani itself was good and I don't doubt that it would last me a long time, but it's not what I picked out and not what I wanted for my wedding day. So, I called back to see if it could be changed to find out that it could... for almost the price of another manicure (which is outrageous to begin with). I called around to other places who all stated if they had done the initial manicure they would have fixed it free of charge. Shame on you, Coles. read more

I will never go back here! I was 10 minutes late for my appointment for a color and cut. I was told first that I was sharing my appointment with someone else by Carolyn, second that she did not have time to do a full foil highlight, and if she did a partial I would be charged for a full! First of all, I was never asked what I wanted done to my hair. I never wanted a full foil anyway. They don't have partial prices? This was a very important appointment because my wedding is coming up. Its nice to know my appointment was going to be rushed regardless and overpriced! Very poor customer service!
