If I could give zero stars, I would…read more I was the victim of an unconsensual chop. I had been working with this salon for months to maintain my length, gradually become blonde, and invested hundreds of dollars in hair products they recommended. I asked Anthony to repeat essentially the same haircut he had previously given me, using photos of his own work as a reference: keep my long square perimeter and soft, elongated layers, add some medium layers in the back, and take ONE inch off the overall length. He specifically asked me, "How important is length to you?" I said, "Very." He told me one inch was more than enough. Then he cut more than three inches off the back and upwards of five inches in the front. My long square perimeter is now rounded/oval, my soft ends are choppy and uneven, and some of the layering is cut in blunt straight lines rather than blending upward. My hair went from long to medium length in one appointment. It took me three years to grow my hair. It is now shorter than it was when I committed to growing it out. This was especially upsetting because Anthony had previously fixed another stylist's work at this same salon and given me one of the best cuts and colors I had ever had. That is why I trusted him to recreate his own work. The color was also inconsistent. There was no root smudge/blending like we discussed, and one side of my highlights is noticeably brighter than the other. It feels like I am back where I started before Anthony corrected the first stylist's work, except now I also lost several inches of hair. There were safety and professionalism issues too. Bleach got on my arms twice and on my face. While doing the foils around my face, foil was placed directly against my eye/face area while bleach was painted extremely close to my eyes without shielding them. I asked afterward why my hair had been cut so dramatically shorter than what we agreed to. I never received an explanation. I also had to fight for my refund. At one point I was already on my way to collect it when the owner reversed course after I mentioned conciliation court. I was then sent legal paperwork and initially offered only the haircut portion back. After going back and forth, they finally refunded the full $275 appointment. When I went in to collect it, the manager began telling me that the owner was dealing with her dying father. I am sorry she is going through that, but it had nothing to do with the fact that my hair had just been cut several inches shorter than I consented to. Hair grows back. I know that. But that does not mean a stylist gets to ignore an explicit agreement about how much hair can be removed. I asked for one inch. I said my length was extremely important. He agreed. Then he cut several inches off anyway. I loved my hair before this appointment. Now it is destroyed, and $275 does not come close to making that right. Anthony is inconsistent, and after my experiences with multiple stylists here, I would not trust this salon with my hair again. I've incldued a before and after. The before is from when I was trying to do passport photos days before Anthony cut my hair. It makes me so sad to look at, I felt beautiful. - my hair was my pride and joy. I enjoyed taking care of it and now it is gone. I've had nightmares where my hair was short and I'd wake up happy knowing I didn't cut it --and now this nightmare has come true. It is that important to me. The photos show the first stylist, how anothy fixed it (curly and straight,) and then how he chopped it off. You be the judge, does this look like one inch to you?

No complaints on the massage portion, except that in the salt room the audible associated with dispersing the actual salt took me out of the moment several times. No issues with the audio or temperature or humidity. For the appt., they pawn you off to some third party website that requires an account to make the appointment and throughout the Salt Spa Salon Cafe website and this other website, it is just plastered with disclaimers about booking policy and you must let them know about gift cards ahead of time and cancellation and cash must be XXX hours in advance due to our 4% CC processing fee. It starts to get daunting - do I even want to go through all this? As for the payment, they charged my credit card even though I had followed all the rules about the gift card anyway. When paying at the end, the employee seemed hesitant to be transparent about the charges as well and was just behind their monitor. Also, You can't enter the massage area of the building until you get this specific text message. Coupling that with the fact that the employee didn't seem willing to show me the monitor just made the whole financial side of things feel shady. Anyway, massage was sensational, but wouldn't recommend the salt experience in particular.

I just love Bespoke Hair Artisans. The salon is beautiful inside and it's in a great part of town. Right when I walked in I felt like I was at home. The staff is so welcoming and nice. Everyone has smiles and are upbeat, I can tell they all enjoy and love what they do. I started going to the salon because Haley Keopke has been doing my hair for years. There's nothing Haley can't do. Recently, I got a blow out and hair cut from Haley and I seriously felt like a celebrity afterwards. She's so talented. I've always felt really comfortable seeing her because she does a fabulous job, especially with coloring. I would seriously trust Haley to do whatever she wanted with my hair because I know she would make me look fabulous! I can tell she's dedicated to her clients, she really listens to what you want and also gives helpful tips and suggestion! Haley is upbeat, friendly, and outgoing. I truly enjoy going to her. I was in Minneapolis (uptown area) for almost 2 years moving from one hair salon to another until I found Bespoke. They cost more than average but I was tired of having colorists paint big solid overly-cooked stripes though my hair that didn't go all the way to my scalp. I also have difficult hair that grows forward and poofs out like crazy when it is humid that needs a tailored cut and no one out here could handle it other than the lady who cuts my hair at Bespoke. My husband's hair is just starting to thin and he likes to keep it short and you would think this would be easy to do but he has had his hair butchered again and again until he went to bespoke. The lady that cuts his hair only cuts men's hair. I don't know why it is so hard to find good stylists and colorists here in MN but if you want a professionally done hair style and color I recommend Bespoke. read more

Today's salon experience reminded me that the BEST textured hair stylist in the Twin Cities is at this beautiful, comfortable, and professional salon! After my old stylist moved to Hawaii, I bounced around for a while until I found Leanne. I've been to see her several times now and she really understands my hair and I always leave a happy customer. While she made some adjustments, the entire appointment was awkward. She barely spoke, so I found myself trying to carry the conversation just to break the silence. She didn't seem interested in building any rapport or making me feel comfortable. Near the end, she interrupted me while I was still talking, ended the appointment, and sent me on my way. I left feeling dismissed rather than cared for. The salon advertises itself as welcoming and experienced with diverse hair types, but my experience didn't reflect that level of customer care. I never felt listened to, valued, or genuinely welcomed. Every interaction felt like an obligation instead of someone who enjoys their work and wants clients to come back. Sorry but just a heads up out there- if you have kids or a family situation or work that might change your schedule unexpectedly due to, for me, a court date was set. Don't book as schedule may change and they will not care about taking 100 percent of price for nothing all because life is life and policy is just a pretend word to act like and/or hide behind.

Everyone there is so friendly and they make you feel very comfortable. Last weekend I had a hair and makeup trial with Erin for my upcoming wedding. Both my hair and my makeup exceeded my expectations. I will be using her for my wedding in January and coming back for a charity gala in May. Today I got a haircut by Erin. Wow! My hair looks and feels fabulous and healthy. Erin has an eye for getting the cut just right. Definitely recommend The Loft Salon for special occasion hair and makeup as well as hair cuts. Check out Erin - she is great! Also, the prices here are great for the neighborhood where there are super pricey salons all around but you definitely are not missing out on quality.

The Loft was great about booking appointments - easy to email them at info@theloft-salon.com and they were very responsive in finding a time that worked. They did a good job of sending reminders as well. The salon is clean and sleek. I was immediately offered a beverage (water, coffee, wine) when I arrived. Lexi cut my hair, and she was *great*. She made it very collaborative in determining what to do. She was very professional and showed me how I can easily style my bangs. The haircut was $45 and definitely worth it! I will be back.

I just wanted a pink hair extension put in and apparently had to make a pre-screening appointment for this first, rather than just put an extension in. I made my pre-screening appointment and had to wait 27 minutes until I was seen. The appointment took less than 5 minutes and I was told that they would have to special order it and would hopefully get the extension in by Tuesday. I reiterated that I needed this for a special event on Wednesday. The salon stylist told me that they would call me on Monday to get this ordered, delivered and set up. Needless to say, I never received follow up on this and had to scramble to get it done elsewhere. Frustrated to have wasted so much time, have to have a "pre-screening" waste of an appointment, and have no product at the end. Poor customer service experience for a first time visit. Oh dear. I hope this will help you make an informed decision about getting services at Salon Ori…read more Here we go: I met with Anne Magnuson for a haircut, liked her and the cut, and went back for a partial balayage ($180 after automatic gratuity) to achieve a pale pink color (see photo). The result was a slightly darker color than this, but I liked it. I've had many color jobs in my life--permanent, semi- & demi-permanent, henna, color depositing conditioners. I didn't touch my hair for 48 hours, and then rinsed it with water as cold as I could tolerate. Immediately, there was noticeable fade. Over the next 9 days, I washed it a couple times with cool water and color-safe products I'd used with previous color jobs. All the pink left, leaving a mix of gold/yellow/bleached color and my natural, salt and pepper (see photos). Even the Punky Color brand of depositing conditioner lasts longer. I reached out to Anne. Her first recommendation was to come in and pay for a glossing service ($90 before automatic gratuity). It was 11 days after the dye job. She blamed my products. I sent her photos of the ingredient lists, she didn't comment. I asked for a recommendation of a product I could put in myself. She recommended some shampoo/conditioner and a color-depositing product that wasn't available. I let her know, and asked her how long she had expected the color to last anyway. She made another recommendation, and didn't respond to my question. At this point, it was clear she was only interested in recommending additional purchases, and was ignoring my questions about how the dye she put in my hair was expected to function. She blamed my color-safe products, but wouldn't support this with any comment on the ingredient lists I sent. I had actually told her what I use for color-safe shampoo at our appointment, and her only comment was "I didn't know they (the company) made that." Nothing else. No suggestion of any specific products. So, I reiterate to her: 1) After 48 hours, noticeable fade started after just rinsing with cold water; 2) Did she see any red flags in the ingredient lists? 3) How long was the color product she used supposed to last anyway? Her response: politely telling me she won't work with me anymore. And again, no response to these reasonable questions. I reached out to the owner, who tells me "I'm sorry you were disappointed" and that she stands by Anne and also "as she is an independent stylist, I don't get involved in her business." Wow! So, if you're going to book a service at Salon Ori, be careful! If it doesn't go right, chances are they will not address your questions, they'll just want you to buy more stuff, and then tell you in polite terms to **** off. Now I'm going to go put a Moroccan Oil product in my hair--I should have done that in the first place.
