    Full balayage by Ari
    G D.

Ari did an amazing job with my daughter's first color - a full balayage, giving her sun-kissed curls . 100% recommend Ari!

A dumb, frizzy ringlet already losing its shape, 2.5 hours after the haircut (no rain/snow/humidity)

First-time customer and I got a pretty mediocre haircut whose saving grace is that the price ($50 before tip) is relatively cheap for my kind of hair. Of note, I have thick, curly hair that's usually pretty long. Here's why I'm not happy right now: 1. It's the laziest haircut I can remember getting; I was sent off with damp, pretty unstyled hair. As a result, I actually had no idea how the haircut really looked until an hour or two after I got home. (My hair looks pretty different damp vs. really dry.) I guess when the stylist asked if she could do anything else for me, I should've said, "I have no idea since it's still wet" rather than no, so maybe that's on me? 2. It's oddly frizzy (never what any curly-haired person I've ever met wants, but often what straight-haired stylists seem to want to do to us) and has these dumb ringlets in front, like a bad Shirley Temple wig. I don't think the ringlets will last--it was a styling choice that the stylist did with her fingers--but they are baffling to me. I have, honestly, really beautiful curls (when decently styled, or even when just left to air-dry after they've been recently well-cut). Why would you undo my nice curls and replace them with something that looks fake and weird? These ringlets are sort of like thick corkscrew curls, but since they're not that styled, a lot frizzier. It's an odd look. 3. The cut is several inches shorter than I was expecting based on what she showed me beforehand. Luckily I'm not too picky about length and it probably still meets the central criterion I gave (must be ponytail-amenable), but it seemed like a notable miscommunication. I think the second and third issue might be related through a common source of the stylist maybe not understanding curly hair that well? Anyway, I'm super disappointed because it's my first haircut in a year due to the pandemic and I timed it around something meaningful where I'm going to be photographed tonight. I was really looking forward to finally feeling good about my hair again, and having nicely styled hair in photos. I still look a lot better than I did before the haircut, but I'm sorry that my photos will feature frizz, and I'm gonna figure out a way to un-accentuate the weird ringlets and try to show some of my actual curls instead. It's not a disaster, nor is it the worst haircut I've had in the last 5 years... but it is the second-worst. Hard to figure out where to get a good curly-haired cut in the Twin Cities these days.

I've been looking all over for the perfect salon that does well with all hair types/styles, isn't ridiculously upscale, and does a good job of listening to what I want and following through. Salon Ori was perfect! I had my appointment with Jessie and she listened to everything I wanted and was so confident with doing what I wanted. She cut my hair perfectly and listened when I said I wanted it little bit shorter on the side. She even made some great suggestions for making my style even better. She also did an amazing job on my color and hair still feels silky soft. The space is nice and all the staff were wonderful. It's a woman owned business which is a plus! The price point was affordable and I wasn't pushed to buy any products. I will definitely be back and I'm so excited to find a place/stylist that is just all around fantastic.

My son had a haircut done by one of the less experienced stylists. It was a mistake to choose them.

Cody is highly recommend for men's haircuts. I have been going to him for 3+ years, and he consistently does a fantastic job. 10/10.

All 3 of my previous regular waxers (who were wonderful!) have left the company, citing poor management as the reason. And the new staff I had to see to use up a pre-paid package were terrible - on 2 separate occasions (different waxers), when I got home, I had to re-wax myself because they'd missed huge patches. So glad I dont have to be tied to this place anymore.

I was walked through the process and provided a comfortable place to wait in their front room. I should add, I had to reschedule due to getting off work late and they accommodated me in such an incredible way, both rebooking me and maintaining a great customer service attitude even though I was inconveniencing them. My service went well and I was very happy with the results. She was friendly and we had good chit chat throughout our session. The checkout process was easy and the whole building seemed clean and smelled nice. I was offered free samples at the end which was a nice bonus. I received a free service as it was my first time at this location so I made sure to tip a little extra. I would definitely recommend this location!

Had a conversation with Nia & she explained how the owner has an eye for design & was she right. The place had such great energy & Nia was just amazing. I explained my terror with having to grow my eyebrows out after I had a barber leave me with thin eyebrows & here we are. After months & months of letting them grow out I am finally back! Nia took the time to draw out the shape & ask me if I liked it. She actually took the time to see the differences in them & try to make it work. The end result was AMAZING! This seriously boosted up my confidence & on top of that I was able to bond with such a beautiful person. Thank you Nia & thank you Omari Brow Studio for the amazing work you do here & representation for the Black community. I'm so happy to say this will be the only eyebrow place I'll go to from now & what joy it brings me to support a Black owned business like this one

We discussed what I was seeking, then she drew on a shape to ensure we were on the same page, then finally she waxed/ clipped/ and plucked to achieve the look. A couple of things I also appreciated were: the conversation, and her honesty that what I wanted may not be 100% achievable given what I was starting with. At the end of the day, it was a lovely experience, in an intimate salon, with modern decor, and good music. I'll definitely return!
