I relocated here from AZ so I had to find a new stylist. I stumbled upon Tease Salon's website and really liked that they had profiles for each stylist, letting you know which one specialized in what. I selected Rachel. My first experience with her was good. I showed her photos of what I had done in the past and she was more than capable of reproducing it. The last visit I had was decent as well, but with a caveat. I didn't bring in a photo the second time and found the results to be just ok. It wasn't her fault by any means, I'm just OCD about how my hair has to look now that its long. The technique was fine. The results were fine. I just didn't leave feeling wow'd by her like I did the first time is all. I would recommend Rachel for any female, she knows her technique. Most men's cuts, she can do as well. I'm hoping that she can show me her creative side the next time I'm in there, I'm looking for an edgier look and I'm not sure if that's her forte. She listened to what I wanted and exceeded my expectations! I went to Tease salon to get my extremely thick and bushy eyebrows waxed by Maddy. When I got there I was immediately greeted with a smile and offered something to drink. Next, when I sat down in Maddy's chair, she held up a mirror to my eyebrows and asked me what I liked and did not like about them. She then went on to educate me about what kind of brow would look best with my features and explained what she was going to wax away and what would she was going to keep. I was amazed at how knowledgeable and personable she was, I knew that I was in good hands. My results: INCREDIBLE! She completely transformed my brows and made me feel so great about myself. I get so many compliments on my brows from strangers now! Came in to cut off a good amount of hair to donate. It was a very nice atmosphere, and friendly service, and didn't have to wait long once I arrived. I had my Haircut by Mikayla and she was a nice conversationalist overall. The starting price was $35 but I had a 50% discount because I donated. I like how the haircut turned out but it was not initially 100% what I wanted, and I continued to give suggestions to her while she was cutting the layers of the hair. First of all, I have to say I hate haircuts! Hate. Why? Because a lot of salons/stylists I have been to just do it wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong! Terribly wrong. And it always takes multiple visits or my own scissors to fix it to where I can tolerate it. I always walk out disappointed... so for the last two years I trimmed my own hair. She also suggested a few things to make it more suitable for my hair type and weight (very thick but fine hair). I am so glad I listened to her. My haircut is way better than the haircut in the photo I brought in!!! I had hair down to my belly button before I went in and walked out with a short haircut that flattered my face and my hair. When restaurant owners start asking to see cash before they'll seat me, I know it's that time again. Haircut. I'm not one of those guys who can walk into a clip joint and ask for the #5. And hell, at my age, I'm lucky to HAVE hair, so the last thing I want to do is have it all shaved off. So, being a man who wears his hair a little longer makes it a bit more of a challenge to find a person and place to cut my hair when I move to a new town. Tease got picked because they had Yelp reviews and a web site that actually MENTIONED men. Believe me, it was a short list. It was a lucky pick, though. Rachel was a lucky pick as well. Anybody who's tasked with making me look good has their work cut out for them, and she's done a fantastic job every time. Very consistent. Friendly and with a bit of an edge, which is an awesome trait for a lady who cuts men's hair. Fantastic interrogator, too - knows all my past sins, who I date, who I owe, and how much. Walking into a salon often has a guy feeling like a dog walking into a houseful of cats, but Tease isn't like that. Very non-threatening, my fellow Chewbaccas. Friendly atmosphere. You're even offered a drink when you walk in the door (still non-alcoholic, despite my repeated hints). Nice, professional staff. Fair pricing. Easy to make appointments and on-time performance. LOVE this salon. Not only is it affordable but they are all about customer service. I had to reschedule my appointment a few times and there was no problem, they are very accomodating and welcoming. I have gotten an eyebrow wax ($15 bucks!! I think) and it was done very well. Also got a hair cut by Rachel which ended up costing me $24 because first time guests get 20% off. Beside the afforable costs here it's also high quality. They use Bumble and Bumble products, there's no rush at all, great feel inside the salon and both services I had were high quality. Also, they have adorable purses, jewelry, scarves, etc which makes the experience that much more enjoyable. I'd highly highly recommend Tease to anyone. read more

Couldn't stand my hair any longer and called this place recently one morning to make an appt. for a cut with Leah. I went in a few hours later. I told her about what was and wasn't working with the hair and she confidently said she knew just what to do. She washed my hair and then proceeded to cut it, describing why she was cutting the hair the way she was (i.e. "cutting into it"). It turned out really nice and I feel I can see again and also allow the world to see me in return. I will return in a few months for my next cut with Leah. read more

Was in Minneapolis today and needed a haircut so I got an appointment with Katie at Tease. I was very pleased with the whole experience. Salon is in a great building with nice atmosphere. Cut was quick and very well done. And Katie even threw in a free uni-brow wax! I've never had anything waxed before, but she said that cleaning up the middle of the brows with a quick waxing is something she does for lots of her male clients. Overall great experience. Cost was reasonable at $30. I had an appointment, but while I was there I saw one other guy walk in and get seated pretty quickly for a haircut. Talked to the owner briefly while getting shampooed and she said that this is a relatively new building for them after doing business for years a few miles away. read more

The hardest part about my move from Atlanta to the Twin Cities was leaving my hair stylist. I needed a well rounded salon that offered a stylist that could tame my chemically relaxed, colored, fried, and dyed hair - and I found exactly what I was looking for with Amber at Tease! I picked Tease because of the awesome reviews, proximity to my new place, and the fact that I could take the 54 bus a few blocks up the road to get to them. Amber was great from the start - she got to know me and my hair. She knew a simple wash and dry wasn't gonna cut it. She suggested similar products that my hometown stylist used and even introduced me to some new ones I'd never heard of (like Moroccan Oil, where has this stuff been all my life!?) I was just really pleased with Amber and everything the Tease had to offer. After a few weeks of wash/styles from Amber, it was time for me to get a relaxer so I let Amber know about the one I used in Atlanta and she partnered up with her owners and they actually went out and found a relaxer that would work similar to the one I was using before. It's called Affirm and it worked amazingly well!! I was really impressed that they actually went out and researched a relaxer that would work on my hair and they've even used it on other clients since then. Ladies and gentlemen, the bangin' bangs are back! After a couple of haircuts gone wild in Asia, my fear of cutting my hair returned. It had almost been a year since my last haircut, so I finally decided to suck it up and return to the the magical place that helped me conquer my fears. And this time, I knew I wanted some serious bangs. This time I had Rachel, who was a doll. Not only did she understand what I wanted but she was also super easy to talk to, and I felt like I was chattin' it up with a friend. She was able to cut off my split ends without cutting off all of my hair that I worked so hard to grow, and she gave me some pretty and versatile bangs. She explained what she was going to do before she snipped away, which I loved. To be honest, I was unsure about the bangs when I stepped out, even though they were what I asked for. I was just about to accept the fact that no matter what my bangs looked like, they will never look as perfect as Zooey Deschanel's, until I realized one thing, mine looked better. BOOM. Everyone here is awesome - from the time that you're greeted (Joshua is the greatest) to the consultation to the shampooing massage to the finished product, you'll be just as in love with this salon as I am. Amber is awesome - I will never go to someone else for my hair again. I found her after being devastated when another stylist chopped a third of my very long, very thick hair super short, making for a super nice almost mullet appearance in the back of my hair. To my amazement, Amber fixed it. And since switching to being Amber exclusive, I get more compliments than ever on my hair. I moved here about a year ago from Boston, and have been searching desperately for a decent stylist in the Cities. I'd been to about 4 different places, and was about to give up, until I finally found Tease Salon and the light shown down from above! From the moment you enter the door you're greeted by genuinely nice staff, offered a beverage, and are surrounded by interesting creations from local artists. (They also have a section with boutique-style accessories as well.) This is a fun visual addition to the otherwise pretty modern interior decor. I had an appointment with one of their new stylists, Rachel, and was a bit nervous at first to hear she'd only been there for a couple weeks. That all changed after I finally, FINALLY, had my hair done the way I wanted it . The full foil and cut turned out awesome! Like many others, I am absolutely terrified of hair salons. I mean, it makes sense to be afraid. They charge you several hours' wages and the chances that they'll make your hair look much worse than when you walked in the door are at least 50%. At least, historically that has been my experience. I have gotten to the point where I will only, grudgingly, go for a haircut about once a year. Maybe less. I'm really not very good at cutting my own hair, but I'm better at it than several of the stylists I have had through the years, and my haircuts are free. Folks. Tease is the salon I and the rest of you have all been waiting for. This is literally the first haircutting establishment I've gone to where, multiple times in a row, my experience was entirely positive, my haircut was AMAZING and exactly what I wanted, and the amount I was asked to pay at the end seemed perfectly reasonable. Not only did he fit me the day I called and juggled me with two other existing appointments, but his informative and funny conversation made my night.
