Today I took the initiative to actually give this place a try, instead of continuously passing it by. Moka is a cute and small coffee shop that has a pretty broad menu. I was actually surprised at all the menu options. My experience is strictly pertaining to the drive thru. Unlike a traditional drive thru an employee will come outside and take your order face to face. I always like when establishments do this because it makes the experience more personable- and I feel more comfortable asking about menu items. Today I got a medium iced caramel macchiato and the chorizo breakfast burrito. Both were really really good. The burrito comes with a side of hot sauce, and I feel the portion is super filling. My iced caramel macchiato was very tasty, not watered down, and I liked how I could actually taste the caramel. As far as prices go I paid $13.38, it's similar to what I would pay at Starbucks. It can get a bit pricey. Luckily for me- after doing a bit of research I found that Moka does have an app and a rewards program. I just think they should advertise it a little bit more. But other than that I truly enjoyed my first experience here. I'm glad I have another coffee shop to diversify where I get my coffee. Starbucks now officially has a little competition lol!

They can be super convenient, in my case because I don't have to struggle with a toddler and hot beverage at the same time. If I was not risk averse I'd consider it a business opportunity! It seems popular, as there was a steady stream of cars in line, probably at least five when I arrived. One of the employees came out to take our order whilst we were waiting in line a la Portillo's. It did mean that the drink I ordered was ready more quickly, but I wasn't able to study the menu as long. They don't have their full menu on the board, which is annoying. All the drinks are listed (with the exception of any specials they may have, which they may or may not have) and the menu board says to ask about the food they carry but the food isn't listed. There's a digital sandwich board that cycles through some of their items and specials, but you can't always catch everything as the images cycle through. The hot chocolate I ordered was really good. I also ordered a couple of sausage muffins and they were delicious. I haven't tasted something quite like it and I wish I knew where to get them for my own kitchen! They have sausage, cheese, egg (I think) and a bit of maple flavor to them. They don't say this on the description but I think they may be baked in a little bit of pancake mix because there seemed to be a dough that encased all the ingredients. I'm going to have to look for a recipe because I've made egg muffins before too but this is a good way to make sure that they retain their shape well and probably also reheat better. If I'm in the area I'll definitely come back to Moka.

Great drink options and decent snacks too but I haven't landed on something I really like just yet…read more First time I stopped in I got the Golden Hour Breve and it was pretty good but still a little bit too much on the sweet side for me. On my second trip I brought my nieces along who were super excited because they had seen some of the drinks on TikTok. One got a golden hour breve which she really enjoyed except that she went against my advice and asked for extra drizzle and vanilla bean cold foam so the bottom of the drink was just like concentrated sweetness. The other one got an iced milk tea with the brown sugar boba and vanilla bean cold foam and was "in heaven" with how good the drink was according to her. I got the seasonal horchata latte for myself and it was a decent take on the drink and worth trying but I think I preferred the golden hour breve. My nieces also tried the chocolate chip cookie and cinnamon sugar donut bites with caramel sauce. They liked the cookies but thought they'd be more warm/fresh out of the oven. They loved the donut bites with that tasty caramel sauce though. I think I might give the pretzel bites option a try next time I stop in. The shop has a really clean look and feel. It's pretty hands off with kiosk ordering and digital menus but when the staff did interact with customers they were friendly. Unless you're going to be downing your drink quickly I would suggest ordering extra ice when it's warmer out. Both times I ordered I noticed my ice was gone pretty quickly. I know it's a normal thing that happens when you have hot coffee or boba syrup mixing with iced elements but just thought I'd mention it to give a heads up to others.

Also a few things to eat. The prices are too high but great stuff. A lot of menu items available. It's got a couple of order screens where customers place their own orders. There's a crap ton to choose from so the line can be a long wait. Beverages are the main things to get. It's about $5 to get most of the coffees, which are cold or hot. We saw a lot of interesting ones. I got the Matcha Latte. Pretty typical but there was the right amount of sweetness. Has some food. Mostly basic stuff. It's about $2 to get a hash brown. Yes that is not even a couple of hash browns, but they taste pretty good though. It's about $5 to get a few pretzel bites. The beverages are obviously better than the food in terms of price and quality. For sure it's got lots to choose from. It's in front of the one strip mall with Target and some other stores. There's a pretty limited amount of space and only a few tables.
