Ice cream is very hard to mess up. While Coldstone's ice cream is ok, I rather go spend some money at Paciugo. Maybe I'm a snob but the 2 times I've been here, the teenage staff just looks about done. Like I never see them smile and I've been in their place before. I get the job may suck but dang. Way to make the patrons feel that way. The ice cream is mediocre. I got the lemon sherbet with white chocolate mixed in and the girl "mixing" it in just folded the chocolate chips with her blade 1 time. This location has to be the worst location I've ever been too. Their customer service was horrible. One lady was standing right outside the door making out with her boyfriend wouldn't have been issue if she wasn't directly at the door doing it. After her make out session (she had no name tag) she proceeds to go over and beyond for her boyfriend and his friend to make their stuff. This is all happening while their is over 20 people in line. Not only that, Natalie decides she wants to serve and grab ice cream with no gloves on. Horrible customer service, unsanitary, unprofessional. While there is a line still forming 3 of the girls that work there want to huddle up and talk about how cute a boy was instead of taking care of customers. I agree with most of my fellow yelpers... this location needs some help. I love Cold Stone ice cream, but their concept doesn't lend itself to serving lots of customers. When we arrived, the line was just inside the door (there were 10-12 people in front of us) and it took about 35 mins to place our order. I saw 5 different people working (coming in and out of the back), but only 2 at a time were actually helping customers. I'm not sure what is in the back, but 3 of the 5 employees spent most of their time there. One of the girls, actually working the front counter, had a badge on that said "trainee," but no one was giving her any instructions or helping her. Lesson here: if you're not in a hurry, the ice cream is good. If there's a line, you're gonna be here a while... for over priced frozen desserts. read more

It was our first time at this Coldstone and I was craving strawberry cheesecake. No one was at the counter until we walked in and then a girl came out to greet us. She helped my partner and Naomi helped me. I asked her if I could order a strawberry cheesecake and she said the didn't have it and was not friendly. So I knew I had eaten one at a coldstone before so I look on the board and see a strawberry cheesecake version with blueberries and I say well you have one on the board here? So she's like so you want cheesecake ice cream and I'm like well yes I want the one described on your board without blueberries and she just wasn't helpful at all. Like I was inconveniencing her. I LOVE cold stone. One of my favorite ice cream places. I haven't had it in years since the locations seem to be dwindling. My all time favorite is the Founders Favorite. Still just as amazing as I remember. The two girls behind the counter weren't very friendly. We placed 5 orders. I dont believe we were that much trouble. Yes, we had 3 kids, but we tried maybe 5 flavors total, and then placed our orders. The girls just weren't kind and seemed like they were rushing us when there were literally no other customers in the store. Visiting in town. Staying across the street at the Springhill. Went to this location after eating pizza next door at Campisis. All the Coldstone locations near my home have shut down, so needless to say, I was very excited! Walked in and no one was at the front. Then out come 1, 2, 3, 4 teenage kids ready to serve us. As soon as I started talking and placing my order, a black girl and tall black guy gave each other a stare and busted out laughing to each other. They didn't hear a word I said and started walking away toward the other side of the store and just laughing and giggling...I can only assume it was at my husband's voice because he has a higher pitch voice. If it wasn't that, then it was absolutely nothing, because they came out all serious ready to work, but as soon as my husband said anything, they laughed and laughed like a bunch of teenage kids they were. The other two white girls took over the order and asked what we'd like..of course, they started giggling because they were all kids and who can't giggle when two people are just laughing helpless at absolutely nothing. At this point, I was like what a joke. Just said forget the order and walked out the store. I see why this place has horrible reviews. Unprepared and Incompetent. We have now been charged for five small cakes, when we only received one. I ordered three small cakes for my son's birthday party, placed online through the Cold Stone website a week before the event. On May 14thmy husband went to pick the cakes up, about an hour after the scheduled pick-up time, and found out that they only had one of the cakes in-store/ready. Since they had not called to let us know the cakes were not ready/available, we no longer had time to go to a different location, and the cashier told him that the original order had not been charged yet, and that it would only be for the 1 cake he actually received. After reviewing his credit card statement, we saw that he had been charged for all 3 cakes from the online order, so I called the following Monday to speak with a manager about getting the two cakes that weren't available refunded. I left a message to get called back - which I wasn't (not sure what was happening with those 'messages' I was leaving) - so on my third call to the store I finally managed to get a manager on the phone. She seemed to be aware of the situation and told me she would handle it. However, what she actually did was charge us for two additional small cakes (I assume she was trying to refund them?). So at this point we have still not received a refund - which now needs to be for 4 cakes. The ice cream and cakes were delicious, which is why we picked them for the party, but if you don't have flexibility in what you actually receive despite ordering early, several weeks to try and track down a competent worker who understands how to work the computer billing system, and extra space on your credit card statement, I'd recommend going anywhere else. read more

Tonight was our second time to visit this location and will probably be the last. Not only is the place dirty, the employees act like they would rather be anywhere else than there. Both times we went the line was to the door and the employees were working very slowly. Tonight one employee said something to the one helping me and she turned to them and told them to "shut up". They were out of one of the flavors we wanted and she acted annoyed to let me know that they were out. When trying to pay, the employee kept turning and talking to another so I had to repeatedly tell her I wanted to add a bottle of water. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the ice cream is good, but until they do something about the customer service they will continue to lose business. read more

I have been to many ice cream shops and many Cold Stone locations over the years and have to say that our recent visit to the Cold Stone at The Harbor in Rockwall was one of the worst and least welcoming experiences we've had when going out for a special treat. First off, the multiple and obnoxious NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS signs littering the entrance doors were unwelcoming and frankly unappetizing. Upon entry with our 3 girls, we were greeted with...well nothing. No customers, no staff, no greeting, no music, and well, not even any air conditioning in the Texas summer heat. Fully anticipating the purchase of what, $40 in ice cream treats, I felt entitled to use the ladies room and wash all the girls hands before eating but, no....it was locked. A public restroom in a public place that serves food was locked with no staff attending to the "front of house". Ok. Whatever. Let's wait for someone to come out. The door sensor was broad and dinged about 15 times as we stood uncomfortably wondering if we'd walked in to get sweet treats after the zombie apocalypse had taken everyone out or if this business was just being run that poorly. Eventually a less than eager or friendly lady comes out and silently waits for us to ask to be assisted. Lucky for us, we'd done this before... With little enthusiasm and a hint of irritation, she begrudgingly scooped and mixed our 4 ice cream orders with an air of impatience while our girls decided on their predictably odd mixtures. They're kids... When asked mid order about the restroom, (was it occupied or locked) we were told it was kept locked with a hint of disdain for the subject. Ok... Well I have to pee, the kids have to pee, we all need to wash our hands before eating and none of is are interested in waiting. Another staff member walks in and with an attitude just as unfriendly as the the other, brushes past us and into the back. Now if I was scooping ice cream and someone (including two kids with little bladder control) needed to use the restroom and I had it locked, I would presumably ask for assistance from another staff member. Well, I guess that's just me. Completing our order and after taking our payment the "Ice Cream Maker" ungraciously headed back behind the scenes where she came from. "Um, excuse me... Can you unlock the restroom please????" Literally minutes later with kids already diving into their treats (sans clean hands), she comes out to unlock the coveted bathroom. I mention to her that the bathroom must be quite a point of contention given all of the signs and trouble accessing it. Probably unaware of my sarcastic undertone, she answers me that "OH YOU HAVE NO IDEA. IT USUALLY HAS TO DO WITH KIDS....(everything was just noise after that)". Kind of a rude thing to say to someone visiting with 3 kids. I digress. I was actually deafened, blinded and muted by the lovely odor of urine and dirty bathroom feet away from my delectable treat... After hovering over the seat, flushing with my foot and using paper towels to touch everything, we proceeded to go enjoy our treats. By this time, we're exhausted by the effort and have little enjoyment of our melting (like, it's HOT in there) ice cream. Finally giving in, we had to waive down assistance through the small window in the door to get lids to take our treats home. Oh and then had to do it again to get a bag... We left looking at each other wondering what the heck we had just gone through just to get ice cream?!?!?! Hot and irritable, we packed up and went home to freeze and later enjoy our mediocre ice cream. So, no, we will not be returning. To all public eateries, treateries, shops and stores...please don't ever leave the front of the house empty before during or after a customers visit. It's just rude. Oh and as far as the bathroom issue goes, I'm going to be checking the health codes on that... Cold Stone at The Harbor in Rockwall...Bye, Felicia. read more

Ice cream is ice cream it always tastes good, however this place was out of waffle cones, out of smoothie mixes and completely out of ANY kind of drink, no soda, no tea, no water. It's Texas and it's 100 plus degrees outside. Wish I could say the staff was apologetic but not the case... Bummer. I've never written a review before and I feel like it's pointless when everyone's taste is different, but when your out of basic things and have a rude staff... Bad Attitude: The young girl server "Alexa" was very rude, talks over you allowing you barely a moment to decide. They had the doors locked and refused to open the door. We walked back to our family next door and my husband called them, still rude on the phone!
