On this slow Monday I decided to take the 3 year old for a big girl treat for her favorite, icecream. Its a little run down in appearance and seating selection. She chose strawberry. The gentleman was passive and reserved. Its a little pricey for a kiddie small. The small sitting area counter needed cleaning off as it was smeared with old tissue wiped up icecream. Though I did not have a coupon on this particular visit, it was hot outside, so I stopped in for some cookies and cream with caramel sauce. I mean butterscotch because this location does not have caramel sauce from what I was told. No complaints, either one is good. I also ordered cookie dough ice cream with caramel/butterscotch sauce or so I thought. My daughter was the one who wanted the ice cream, so after dinner while eating the ice cream, she inquired about what happened to the cookie dough in her ice cream. I told her that I clearly ordered cookie dough ice cream. During ordering, there appeared to be some breakdown in communication about whether I wanted the cookie dough add-in or cookie dough ice cream. The end result was the only thing that mattered, I just wanted some cookie dough ice cream. I thought that was clear, but I guess not. In an effort to address the matter, I looked at my receipt so I could call that location. At the top of the receipt under the address, it read add telephone number, which means that this information was not present on the receipt. I found the telephone number online, but the calls went directly to voice mail. I finally contacted the store manager, who was rude. Ultimately, she resolved the issue by telling me that I could return for them to remake it. I called her back to ask if I could come in the following day because I was already home. She agreed and stated that she would put my name on the board. Though she appeared reluctant to provide her name, I requested it because I needed it just in case there was an issue the next day. I showed up the following day to get the ice cream prepared correctly. I was already informed that the manager, who took the call would not be present, but she assured me that it would not be a problem. Once at the location, I proceeded to explain why I was there and I presented my receipt. I provided the manager's name and whatever I felt was needed to get me in and out of there without a problem. For some reason, I felt like the female who assisted me was trying to hassle me. I also felt like what I was saying was disregarded. We definitely had a moment where she was not exhibiting good customer service. I need to take a break from this location for awhile. It has changed over time and not for the better. read more

Errr ummm...s'ok... Tonight, my first taste of the Cold Stone Creamery (CSC) vanilla ice cream I ordered today immediately evoked a "This tastes weird" response in me. I don't know...the vanilla tasted artificial, off-kilter, and unfamiliar. The second spoon did not seem to taste as weird though. Thus, I was thinking perhaps my taste buds were reacting to the culinary combination of French vanilla ice cream mixed with the cream of broccoli soup, which I'd had minutes before. Hard to figure. I don't ever remember the taste of vanilla ice cream being thusly violated by something as simple as cream of broccoli, but who knows how cream of broccoli will affect various brands and flavors of ice cream - or any other dessert, for that matter? Right? :-0 Well, the cake topping was acceptable, fluffy, and the chunks were larger and fuller than what is served at other Cold Stone Creamery stores. To be honest, I've only visited 2 other locales, and I have only visited CSC about 7 times total my entire adult life. Sooo... any way. If I make concessions due to the cream of broccoli prelude, I give this store 3 stars. The staff was reasonably polite, expedient, and I had no ordering issues. I guess, I am just not a fan of CSC. I guess it's offerings have never wowed me. Today, was no exception although I'd give the CSC in Canton an extra half of star. I specifically choose cold stone for two reasons #1the birthday cake remix #2, the fact that I have an option for every ingredient to be mixed in properly, that's where they failed me. Not only was my online order not ready when I got there, they rushed putting it together so as a result it wasn't mixed in properly, and I got the biggest size that you can get!!! Imagine thinking that you're going to have all of the ingredients mixed in the entire bucket of ice cream that you just paid $20 for but you get to the bottom and all you have is plain ice cream. By my face, you could see that I was confused. I told her that wasn't the correct price and she insisted that it was. I pointed out how much both items costed ($7.50 each) and with the coupon, I would only be paying for one, 7.50+tax. More than anything, I wanted her to understand why it was coming up to this price because it's her job. She finally figured it out but she and the other workers were extremely rude. I get it. Two stars because the girl at the register was nice but this Cold Stone is GHETTO and they need to lose their franchise license. You can't even see the ice creams they have because they have it blocked off. Only three people allowed in the store. They have this ghetto raggedy list hanging with all the different flavors (since the case is blocked off). They don't accept cash. It's ice cream, how could anything go wrong? Well we all know that things can go wrong BUT not this time around. This location was only allowing 2 customers into the lobby area at a time of course with masks included and after placing your order you were asked to step back outside and wait for your order. All of the employees had on their mask and were pleasant. I went for the GOTTA HAVE IT sized Chocolate Lovers Only and my Sidekick opted for the Cake Batter Remix. The wait outside was not long, I was flagged to come back in, grab my goods and off we went. I have been in this particular location several times and have never had a bad experience. I did miss how the staff would typically greet you in unison when you came through the door, but with all of the safety measures in place I'm so not tripping about that at all. I went to the Coldstone on Reisterstown Road. I ordered a Mine with chocolate chips, almonds and Oreo cookies. The lady put one Oreo cookie in the mix and I asked for more. She said that I was allowed only 3 toppings. She was very cold and if she had a high school education she would have known that I was not asking for another topping but more of what she had put in a large amount of ice cream. I told her that I receive more cookies in a Gotta Have It as I watched her coworker put two cookies in a Love It. She slid in one more cookie. Also she was the same person that went outside on Father's Day when the line was super long and left her coworkers struggling. When I pulled up she was outside again.
