So hot outside. Saw an ice cream shop and had to stop in. It's a must do on vacations! Checked out the ice cream choices and tried some samples. Decided on a regular size cup that comes with 2 scoops. Picked coffee chocolate chip and butter pecan to share with the hubby. The ice cream is actually really yummy. Not too sweet at all. And perfect creaminess. Service was amazing. Got to taste test the ice cream and couldn't leave without trying the fudge especially since they had signed everywhere promoting the fudge and to "come in and get a sample". Fudge was a little too sweet for me but that's how it normally is. Apparently this is a chain! Loads of locations. read more

I tried Kilwins in Fells Point for the first time and it was pretty good. I have been to other locations before but this one is strategically placed in a busy area. It will catch you either leaving the bar or just out for a stroll. When I walked in there were so many options to choose from which was a little overwhelming at first. That said I was greeted promptly and warmly by the staff. The chocolate was delicious and definitely hit the spot. read more

Toasted coconut OH MYLANTA! Ok so ice cream is a must- good ice cream- SIGN ME UP! If it was purely the ice cream this would be 5 stars- sadly the service was lack luster and made ya feel like you were intruding- but the ice cream and sweets- convinced the whole group to get some despite it being cold- and no one regretted it- why? Because it was that good! If you see a Kilwins- GET THE TOASTED COCONUT!!! read more

I know Kilwins is a chain but I have to give a special shoutout to the service we had here on a little sweet treat date night! The sweet little lady who helped us pick our ice cream flavors was SO adorable and helpful! She offered suggestions on flavors, let us try flavors, AND even made us try some she thought we would like even after we ordered and paid. She made our date night so special and fun for such a simple ice cream stop. They have so many varieties - it can be overwhelming! But she made the experience so fun and easy to navigate. read more

Can't beat a Kilwins. They had a great special going for fudge, which my husband took full advantage of. Delicious and rich, as can be expected from them. In a walkable location in Fell's Point which makes it ripe for foot traffic, but otherwise a little challenging to get to. Worth it, though! Always appreciate getting samples and talking through the selection. read more

Kilwins is a chocolate & ice cream store I hear a lot of people talking about so I decided to stop by. The ice cream is decent, not as fresh as I wouldn't liked it. Some of the ice cream had a bit of frost bite. Next time I plan to try their Carmel apples. read more

The moment I got in front of this place, the smells were delicious! I felt like a kid in a candy store walking in, there were plenty of sweets, including fudge, chocolate, candy, and ice cream. When we made our way to the front of the line, we were greeted by a really nice gentleman. He was friendly and even asked us if we would like to try any of the flavors before buying them. I tried butter pecan, Kilwins tracks, Kilwins mud, and the cappuccino chocolate chip. To be honest, the butter pecan ice cream tasted like something I can buy from a grocery store in a quart sized container. Pecans were a bit stale but it was rich. The Kilwins mud ice cream tasted very vanilla-y with some caramel mixed in. There were some chocolate chips in there too, but a little too sweet for my taste. I settled on getting half a scoop of the cappuccino chocolate chip in the Kilwins track, which is basically vanilla flavored ice cream with peanut butter cups, and chocolate fudge swirls. I am a huge peanut butter and coffee flavor lover, so this combination worked really well all this on top of a waffle cone. One thing I want to add - when they handed me the waffle cone, it was warm. They had just made it fresh which was really delicious. It was not too sweet, extremely crispy and light. It was the perfect touch to the ice cream. The coffee flavor was there, and you can't go wrong with peanut butter cups. I had only wished that the ice cream was a little creamier, but overall pretty good. It is a little overpriced, but it is downtown Annapolis so it is to be expected. I would recommend to come here and give them a try. It's not the best but it's pretty good. read more

$50 for a cup of ice cream, a milk shake and 3 chocolate treats. I'll start by saying I think Kilwins is extremely overpriced. I thought the ice cream flavors looked yummy and creative but nothing special enough to account for $10 ice cream. We walked in after having dinner at DDG, there was a family ordering and then a bunch of people standing everywhere. we got in line however the girl behind the counter decided to help another group that came in after us. We finally get to order and it was as if we were being rushed to order because she didn't want to serve us. I got a toasted coconut and cappuccino chip milkshake which was disappointing, the ice cream was still pretty hard and not really mixed well with the milk. $10 wasted... Overall, I would not recommend coming here...there are plenty of great ice cream shops that don't cost you so much and you would get better service. read more

I came to Kilwins 7-4-24 at 8:45pm to grab ice cream before the fireworks event started at Bond Street Wharf. My bf has Never been to Kilwins so he was acting like a kid at the candy store, ugh picking up and touching stuff. We were greeted immediately. I ordered the turtle truffle cheesecake with chocolate, my bf ordered either Oreo brownie or chocolate brownie with vanilla. He kept tryna get candy but I told him put it back his sugar level will be ridiculous. The ambiance is very colorful very white chocolate background with chocolate designs on the walls and ice cream murals very welcoming. Will definitely come here again for an ice cream date they have sooo many different options for ice cream and candies. Btw very interesting how the door opens automatically when you're not even that close to it like a Harry Potter magical world or something lol read more

Excellent customer service and delicious caramel and caramel covered apples made on the premises. I walked by the evening before and they were closed due to "production". Fought the urge to press my nose to the glass and stare wantonly. You can literally see them dipping apples and making the treats for the next day. Promised myself to be back when they opened @11:00. Worth it! It did not disappoint. The caramel is made with tiny bits of sea salt, that adds a wonderful texture and balanced out the sweetness of the caramel perfectly. They also have chocolate covered caramels with sea salt from around the world e.g. black Hawaiian sea salt, Mexico, etc. Shout out to Brae who assisted me. I didn't realize they don't take Amex. I did have some cash in hand, so we figured out what I could purchase before heading back to my hotel. He could have made me feel awkward, but instead he worked with me to ensure I had a good stash to share and bring back some of the goodness to my hotel and friends for the evening. Would highly recommend not only for the sweets, but for the excellence in customer service. Will be going back before we head out of town and get some more deliciousness to share as I suspect by tomorrow they will all have disappeared. read more

I'm not sure how I feel about this place. We randomly stopped in after having lunch near by. I will say that it smells really good in the store. The service: There was no wait around 2 - 3 pm on a Wednesday. The server was nice and answered all our questions. We had many questions about the various flavors we had never seen before. She was really patient with us. The ice cream: The ice cream was just ok. I had the Maryland Mudslide, which was vanilla ice cream with caramel and chocolate chips, with pecan toppings. It was ok. I wouldn't order that flavor again. My daughter had the caramel ripple in a waffle cone. She said she liked it. I think the ice cream was over priced for the amount. The server literally used a scopper and a scale to measure it to ensure it was just the right amount. 1 scope of ice cream was $7 and each topping was an additional $1. I've had better and cheaper ice cream at Cold Stone and Marble Slab Creamery. read more

Without a doubt, this place makes me feel like I'm at Willy Wonka! It's a quaint little store that offers a display case full of caramel apples, fudge, truffles, and ice creams. There is a whole wall covered with treats like chocolate almonds, raisins, and cacao beans. My favorite chocolate to get here is the milk chocolate covered with macadamias, and many of my favorite memories of Baltimore started at Kilwins. Hopefully, the next time you stroll through Fells Point, the irresistible waft of freshly baked cones will also pull you in! read more

Delicious ice cream, perfect for these hot summer days. I got their new, limited flavor All American Two Berry Pie. This is like a vanilla ice cream mixed with strawberries and blueberries. It's fruity, sweet, and very refreshing. I will note that the ice cream is a bit on the pricier side, for one scoop in a cake cone it was $7. Kilwins also offers a great selection of fudge and chocolates that I recommend checking out as well. read more

This review is for the milkshakes at Kilwins only: absolutely AVOID the milkshakes! They are basically a tiny spoonful of ice cream mixed with tons of milk and chocolate syrup, resulting in a runny mess. There is NO thickness to the milkshake...it's overall just a sad glass of chocolate milk :( Also, it's one of the most expensive milkshakes in Baltimore! $9! Very disappointed. read more

If you have a serious sweet tooth or problems with self control stay away from this spot. Their candy and treat selection is out of control. Everything from crazy ice cream flavors to caramel apples (personal weakness of mine). When you walk in you are greeted to one of the most pleasant smells you can think of. Sort of reminds me of like fresh Waffle Cones or something. Either way yeah this place is like the Willy Wonka of Fells. I've been excited to try this place since reading the reviews but underwhelmed. I had a hard picking a flavor everything was just too sweet and sad to say a little freezer burned. (I can definetly tell the difference.) The price was high $7 for a two scoop ice cream cone but I did receive an waffle cone upgrade from my Yelp check in. I might try it again in the summer if in the area, in hopes the flavor would be fresher. The candy selection is nice but also pricey. read more

Kilwin's is a really cute dessert place in Fells Point. They have ice cream, chocolates, candy, and many other things to satisfy your sweet tooth. You also watch the masters at work behind the glass. Stopped by Kilwins because I was craving ice cream. I came inside the shop and I was overwhelmed with the variety of desserts and treats they had in the store. I wanted to try everything especially the fudge but I decided just to get one scoop of ice cream. I chose the blueberry flavor. I forgot what the name of it was, but it was like a blueberry cheesecake. I got it on a waffle cone, and I was shook at the price. It was more than seven dollars just for one scoop and a waffle cone. The scoop barely filled half of the cone so it was definitely a rip off. The ice cream tasted amazing but I feel like I would rather buy two Ben & Jerry's pints rather than pay for one scoop of ice cream. Maybe if I was bougie enough I would come back. read more

Wish they had a zero star option just for Kilwins. Us and multiple other customers (all huddled up against the door because we were triple-checking their timings) arrived 20 minutes before they closed. And the door was locked. Are you kidding me? Went looking for ice cream one night and decided on this place because the inside looked like the most adorable candy and ice cream shop and it smelled AMAZING! The ice cream was delicious! Really great, cute ice cream shop in Fells Point! I wish I'd have been able to try their ice cream cakes as well- they sounded amazing! My boyfriend and I shared a cone of toasted coconut ice cream in a waffle cone. Although it was almost $7 (yikes!) it was delicious! Smooth, creamy, tasty, and the waffle cone set it off perfectly. We thought about getting a bottle of water to wash it down, as ice cream does leave you thirsty, but at almost $4, we decided to pass. 4/27/14 If you have a sweet tooth this is SO the place for you!! After a fabulous brunch with my boyfriend we decided to walk around Fells since it was such a beautiful day! As we venture down Thames Street we saw another couple eating some delicious looking ice cream so we asked where they got it from and they pointed across the street. So we decided to walk some more since we just ate brunch and stop through on our way back to the bond street wharf to sit for a bit by the water. When we walked back and got to the shop I was so excited. Like a little kid literally! Just looking in the glass windows and seeing all the goodies gets you before you even walk in. But oh how glorious it is when you enter in! I feel like they have everything you can think of for a person that loves sweets. Candy apples, cakes, chocolates, etc. I made a b-line to the ice cream! So much to choose from. The amazing manager, who even let me take a fun pic of him for my Yelp review, let me try the cake batter ice cream.....OMG!!!!! I am in love. It has chunks of baked cake in the mix! SOOOO GOOD!!! Even my boyfriend loved it and he doesn't like sweets. Of course I got a scoop of that. I should have tried other flavors but I was sold on this one. I'll just have to venture back to try other ones another time. The prices are really decent to for original recipe, fresh, flavorful ice cream. As we were heading out after paying we noticed the waffle iron in another section near the door. The manager explained that they make their own waffle cones fresh in the store. Definitely gonna have to try that as well next time. I suggest that if you love sweets you check out this place. It is where sugar dreams are made! Lol! read more

Beautiful day in Fells Point, I have stuffed my belly and suddenly I have a craving for a sweet treat. Enter Kilwins..... This place is paradise for the fat girl inside of me! There is every thing imaginable from fudge to chocolate to ice cream! The smell itself is just....ahhhhhh! Yum! I'm pretty sure that just about everything is made in house. On this particular day, I just wanted to try the ice cream; flavors ranged from vanilla to salted caramel and cake batter with real cake pieces. I stuck with my norm, Cookies and Cream, it wasn't overly sweet, and it was just delish! I'm pretty sure this had to be one of the best ice creams that I have had in a while. Curse you Kilwin's! Ruining my New Year's resolution so quickly. Why, oh why, is your store so pretty and filled with so many gooey sweet confections and why must you be located so conveniently to the bars I frequent? You make it so easy for me to say, "Let's just pop in for ONE truffle!" It never fails that we leave with enough dessert to satisfy 47 pregnant women. The staff is always smiley and patient as we dance from display case to LED backlit display case. I can never leave there without at least one apple (for now and another apple for tomorrow.) Did you know that you can have them cut up your "for now" apple and leave your "tomorrow" apple whole; just put it in the fridge and it'll keep overnight. IF you make it that long. Sad to say, we haven't tried the ice cream here, although they seem to always be making fresh waffle cones. If we're in the mood for frozen treats we tend to hit up the gelato place around the corner, who seems to have a better selection. That's okay. I'll always gleefully come here for overpriced truffles and leave with a smile on my face. read more
