I love coming to Wockenfuss, especially to buy holiday treats for friends and family. Today I came here to buy two solid milk chocolate easter bunnies for my niece and nephew. I also came here to mail a package! I love that there is a tiny post office within the candy store and chocolate factory that is housed here. I also like that every receipt comes with a 10% off coupon for a single item in the next month. Wockenfuss is not just amazing candy. They also have gifts and souvenirs from Maryland. I've been a fan of Wockenfuss Candies and the family for years. As a consumer and as a vendor. When I started in the candy business, they were on BelAir Rd. Later, they took the space that was previously a supermarket on Harford Rd just above Northern Parkway. I stopped by today out of a desire for Chocolate. Dark Chocolate, really. I pursued their homemade chocolates and my eyes were fixed on their Jumbo Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. I bought just one from the friendly gal working the counter. I ate it when I returned to my car as it would otherwise melt. It was heavenly. It was decadent. It was perfect. When I worked for a broker 40 years ago, we represented Gardner's Candies out of Tyrone, PA. Their Peanut Butter Meltaway was a game changer. Gardner sold to EJ Brach and destroyed the brand which was later acquired by a great outfit in my late father-in-law's American hometown (by way of Greece) Canonsburg, PA. This cup took me back to the excellence of that piece 40 years ago. It's that amazing. The store is a little smaller than their other locations, but, you can find most anything your sweet tooth desires. As an added bonus, they are a CPU for the postal service. I will return soon and buy at least three. Two for me and one to share. I commend this family owned Baltimore treasure to all. You can really be like a kid in THE candy store. read more

The best candy apple I have every tasted and I have never quite been a fan of candy apple or apple. The apple is so crisp and just taste perfect with the thick Layer of coated candy goodness ontop. My job treated us to some candy apples from this business and I have been gifting candy apples from here since. Wow, I have really slept on Wockenfuss. I've driven by this location a thousand times, thinking that I would eventually get around to checking it out. So glad to have finally made that decision. The outside of the business is pretty unassuming, but the interior is a bright colorful candy wonderland filled with every kind of sweet imaginable! The lady that assisted me was friendly and knowledgeable of every single item inquired about. Being sort of overwhelmed, I only opted for a couple of chocolates - Tirsmisu truffles and the Baltimore Fudge... Hooked. My go to place when I need a caramel apple with pecans. I love the layer of chocolate on the apple as well. Quick and efficient. Smells so good when you walk in. Prices have gone up, but I'm still willing to pay...for now. It's never really too crowded and they have a huge parking lot. ** Remember it's a One-Way Parking Lot. They have a huge selection of treats. I would like to say that I get other items, but I have a one track mind and it's loyal to caramel apples. read more

What a wonderful historic place all of the staff were sweet and knowledgeable. They really take pride in their job. The smells are awesome and all of their candies are delicious. It was like being in chocolate Heaven. The tour was informative. I was use to purchasing their candies from the mall but to see it being made was awesome. Best candies made right in this location. I drive an hour to get these sweets but would add another hour on to the drive if that's what it takes. It's really a Baltimore institution that's some how is still a secret. Today I tried the Carmel & Chocolate dipped apple and it did not disappoint. Debbie is new to the store but was so friendly and for still being in training she was ready to sell! Got a good recommendation from the store manager Rebecca about there others locations which I plan to visit this week. They also are USPO official location for mailing and shipping, kinds of an odd pairing but I like that Rebecca pointed it out. The chocolate covered pretzels are amazing! read more

I live up the street from this store. This was my first time in the store, and I will not be returning. I was simply dropping off a prepaid package to be delivered via their USPS service. The package was all packed and prepared, but the label simply needed a small piece of packing tape in order to attach/secure it to the package. When I requested a piece of tape one of the employees said, "We are a Wockenfuss Candy store, but we sell tape." This employee said this as she was walking away from me, as if she was actually too busy for a customer. I immediately called and told the manager about this event. She simply stated that this is their policy and I explained that they have lost a customer for good over their refusal to provide a small piece of tape for a package. I drove up the street a few blocks to the Parkville Post Office where I was given immediate service and provided with the tape I needed to send my pre-paid package. This place is a let down and I will not only be avoiding their stores, but I will also not be eating any Wockenfuss candies. Customer service means a lot to your potential customers. It should probably mean more to your company. read more

Did order some sugar free chocolate for a friend in Fond du Lac, Wis. - yet there was a problem with the delivery. I contacted the Wockenfuss Co. and they went way out of their way to correct this situation, incl. a personal phone call of a apology. Their customer service is absolutely top notch, just like their delicious products. I would recommend Wockenfuss Co. to anyone & on a scale 1 - 10 it should be a 15.
