As a pastry chef, I have a deep appreciation for Italian Bakeries. The Old world recipes are made with love. And on the day of my visit, the pastry case was filled with many delicious options. The person behind the counter ignored me and said nothing to me. 2 minutes later a couple entered the shop and were immediately greeted and asked if they needed help. The couple were kind enough to say" Hey, you were here first". The person behind the counter still ignored me! I simply stated I didn't need help, smiled at them and exited the shop. We shared a slice of the cannoli cake which was disappointing. It was pretty obvious that the cake had been sitting in the refrigerator for a long time since the bottom of the cake was overly moist while the top of it was dense and super dry. Taste-wise, it was ok: I found that the sweetness of the frosting overwhelmed the cake. I was also somewhat surprised at the prices. I thought that since there was no table service and that the desserts don't seem to be made on the premises, that the prices would be slightly lower. It hardly seems worth it to spend so much money on mediocre dessert. The gelato also looked pretty pathetic and very unappetizing. I guess you should go here if you simply must have Italian dessert while in Hunt Valley. However, I just don't see any reason to go out of my way to go to this location.
