I didn't understand why this place had such a bad rating, so I read some of the comments and a lot of them are 2+ years old. Maybe they've gotten better? I was craving some ice cream and this place isn't too far from me (and I had a gift card!). My experience was good. I didn't have to wait too long, and it was even a Saturday night. The ice cream and selections are great- the service is not. I understand times have changed and service has declined overall. But if you're going to choose to be in a customer facing role, you have to be able to at least be verbal with your customers. It's mostly teenagers who work here so that does explain most of it but they're definitely the teenagers who work at Chic-fila or InNOut who are very friendly. On 2 separate occasions the staff has been rude, unfriendly and unwelcoming. Tonight, I arrived with 10 minutes to close. I knew what I wanted and understood if they said they were closed. So I asked. The young man cleaning the tables was unsure if the staff working behind the counter so I asked one of the young ladies if they were closed. She didn't even look at me. Just kept doing what she was doing and blatantly ignored me. She had seen me walk in so she knew I was there. The young man cleaning repeated my question and she still didn't look at me. She looked at him and just shook her head no. At least have the courtesy to say "Unfortunately we have already put most of our ingredients away as we are closing but we would be happy to serve you tomorrow." Apparently acknowledging your customers is too much. I would've been fine with a no. But to just ignore your customers is not rude. I thanked him for asking and left. My car was facing the storefront and from my car I could see her tell him something and then she walked away. The lack of basic customer service skills is just disappointing. read more

It's been a long time since I've been on a Cold Stone ice cream store. Used to go there kind of religiously when I lived in Tucson but up around here it's a lot of the other ice cream places I've been frequently going to like Jeremiah's and Brewsters which are closer. I really like Cold Stone because you get to pick the flavor or flavors you need to get the candies or the nuts or the sauces or the fruits or whatever and want some Smash It and Bash it and then you get to have your chocolate sprinkled covered waffle cone which is my usual at least when I went there. Ice cream is still really good and all the flavor in this adds an extra kick to everything. Service was fantastic and have nothing really bad to say it was a really great dessert and hope you get there again when the next 30 years. read more

Whenever you go to an ice cream shop, know that it's greatly cheaper to buy their pints or whatever their to-go options are. For them, their biggest take home option is a 3 pint box that cost $19. Every Cold Stone has different rules... But this one in particular says you can only have a max of two different ice creams per box. One of the employees was really confused as to how to put two different ice creams in the box. Good thing there happened to be another employee that was actually competent. Overall, the ice cream was average and although they've got a wide variety of flavors, there wasn't enough ice cream in some of those buckets to even choose from since it wouldn't fit in my box. read more

I went for my little sisters birthday and we got ice cream for the whole family. customer service was very respectful and helpful. and the cashier I never really got her name but she was so nice and kind and I gladly tipped. The WORST Cold Stone I ever been, 5 employees standing there, long line, bad service, we visited as a family and they charged individually adding tip, I asked for a bowl waffle and it was saggy and got mix with my ice cream, of course ice was was melting super fast, my husband asked for a Love it size, they serve small size cup INSIDE the love it (Medium Size), on top of that, the young lady there was arguing with me saying I asked for a cone when I specified Waffle Bowl. On Sunday, Nov 20th around 6:40pm my boyfriend and I waited 10 minutes before even being talked to by a staff member. When we finally got to order the guy was very rude and seemed annoyed that we wanted ice cream. I ordered a peanut butter cup perfection, but did not receive that. Instead he had given me another signature order. Then when my boyfriend went to order he seemed even more annoyed that he wanted to order something as well. We have been to this location plenty of times and never had an issue. read more

The location I just came from was filthy. There were used napkins and straws on the floor. One of the doors was broken so customers going in and out both had to use the same door. The table we sat down at had dried iced cream smeared on top and had some crumbs. I went to wet my napkin and wipe off myself but the only drinking fountain was out of order. I love this location, the workers are enthusiastic and quick. I feel like half of these reviews on Yelp are from very impatient Karen's. Most of these reviews are from people who clearly never been to a coldstone. Last time I went to coldstone a very old man was yelling at the customers about mixing a signature which they said they couldn't because of policy. He then screamed at everybody. THIS STORE IS RUDE TO CHILDREN! Do not go if you have kids. It's an ice-cream store, how ironic Came in for ice cream after a long day, and a little girl in front of me ordered her ice cream. The employee didn't ask the little girl to repeat her order, or to clarify if she was too quiet, and made her the wrong ice cream. The poor little girl was disappointed she didn't get what she ordered, I told the Jenna, the employee making her sundae, that she picked the wrong ice cream, and Jenna was so incredibly rude to the little girl because Jenna misheard her and didn't ask for clarification. I've had a gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket since February. Summer is just about over so I went looking for a store. Seems 3 of the ones near me have closed up in the past few years. I found this one on the North side of MetroCenter in the same strip mall as Fatburger and a bunch of other stuff. There was plenty of parking. The store was clean. Plenty of parking. Not very busy. I am definitely showing my age when it bothers me having the young man making my creation with a two day old growth and several pieces of "art" in his nose and other parts of his face. Getting past that, he was efficient and pleasant to deal with. It was slow so we had a brief conversation about the number of remaining stores in the West side. I had a cheesecake signature creation, med. It was good but I have been spoiled by Sweet Republic. I still have some money left on the gift card so I know I will be back again to some location. read more

If I could give this location 0 stars I would.. went in tonight 10 minutes before closing and two young ladies named makayla and daniella were in. Right when we walked in there was no welcoming. Which isn't rare during closing time bc they're cleaning which I fully understand. However we began to order our ice creams and we had a total of three orders handled by makayla the first two were done on the cold plate. Cold plate wasn't cleaned once or scraped. My daughter has allergies to nuts so therefore we continued with the third order letting them know to at least clean the cold plate. Makayla then proceeds to rudely stomp her way to the back to get new ice cream and as she began to start getting the frozen ice cream she continued to slam everything from fruit to the ice cream to having an attitude while she was mixing. My family has never had such a bad experience with cold stone until today. We do understand it's near closing time and they must be tired but there is no excuse especially when cold stone is no where near cheap... if this young lady was employed by me she would be immediately fired. And to top it all off we decided to leave with out ice cream and said merry Christmas have a good night kindly even after the experience we had and she decided to raise her nose up and simply ignore our presence. These two young ladies especially makayla need a attitude check. This is inexcusable especially so close to the holidays. The pictures attached, is how the cold plate looked full of nuts full of leftover ice cream. We stopped in on the 1st to order a birthday cake for the 4th assuming that would be plenty of time. The girl working said it needed to be placed a week in advance, as we weighed our options on just picking up a pre-made cake or going somewhere else, she was calling her boss to see if they had time to do one more. And they did! She was extremely friendly and helpful. Luckily it wasn't very busy in there since it takes quite a bit of time to order a cake. We asked for Mint Chocolate Chip with purple and pink frosting, however it was very basic looking with sloppy writing. Nothing fancy, it was a little disappointing to give it to a 12 year old little girl. But, it tasted great and we apprecaited them accomodating us with only 3 days notice. read more

Highly irritated and disappointed with the young girl working there tonight. Myself, wife & 3 kids(4,6,7) came in and we were greeted immediately by the young man. The girl came up and asked us what we wanted which is great, except we had only been inside for less than a minute. With 3 very excited young kids we had no clue yet what they wanted so i told her we weren't ready yet. She rolled her eyes with a nasty disgusted look and walked away. This was not anywhere near customer satisfactory! This is a place with many options, for little excited kids we should be allowed to take a few minutes for them to look and make their decisions! There was nobody in the place when we got there, there was no line or people that we were holding up. She was very disrespectful and rude. The young guy could tell I was upset so after a moment he asked if we were ready and I said "I am still trying to figure out why she rolled her eyes at us and walked away, is needing a moment shouldn't create an issue" and he just shook his head like he didn't know. I made sure to say it loud enough so that she could hear me. After that she became very nice and very patient unfortunately just a little too late. I grew up in the restaurant business and have managed a few places myself. I am still in a customer service industry outside of restaurants, which any business that would not be tolerated. I simply suggest some re-training and explaining the importance of customer service. Not sure I'll be coming back or recommending to anyone read more
