Do not go here. Don't do it. If I could give this place negative reviews I would. We waited for 25 minutes at the front of the line to be acknowledged! The 5 employees behind the counters walked by my sister and I at least 3 times each and none of them said a word. The line was at least an hour long at the rate they were going by the time I got my ice cream. My sister gave up on hers because they never took her order! I ordered a banana caramel crunch in a waffle bowl and tell me why I look up and the guy is making a waffle. Normally a fresh hot waffle is great except when you're about to put ice cream in it! How do you not have any waffle bowls made or at least offer to the customers that it's going to be a little wait to make the waffle. And get this...he only made 1 waffle. So everyone else that wants one will have to wait even longer. It took us almost half an hour to get one waffle bowl. That is ashamed. And they didn't have banana ice cream. Smh. I always enjoy coming to Cold Stone Creamy (CSC). I mean, else, will you get this quality of ice cream at their price? Not many. I was impressed with the customer servers, and let me tell you, you have to be in shape to work at CSC cause kneading ice cream is hard work. But the employees do it with such love, and they keep a smile on their faces. What was more impressive was how fast they were. I got in that line on a Summer Sunday evening expecting to be waiting close to a half hour, and I think I was in and out in fifteen minutes, Maybe because everyone was familiar with the ordering process. If you have never been there before while in line, review the ordering process, and if you don't get it, they would be more than happy to help you. The store was super clean and bright but cold, which is cool; it is an ice cream shop. Now for the ice cream and cakes and sundaes. You can have it in a cone, cup as a shake, or split. A single, double, or triple scoop, CSC is the epitome of "have it your way." Next summer, I plan to make it out there more often, as should you. read more

I had no idea this place existed. So many flavors, so little time! But the staff here are more than happy to let you taste as many as you like before making your choice. Eggnog ice cream is back in for Christmas, and for those who like it sweet - this ones for you. After tasting 6 different flavors, I decided to go with coffee and salted caramel mixed together. It was like a frappe/latte in a cup, delicious. It was sweet, but salty, creamy, but the right amount of coffee flavor. A yummy treat every time I've been here. I love the birthday cake remix and my mom likes anything with strawberries. I love the little song that the staff sings here when you go tip them most of the cashiers are nice. I will say though that more than a few times they will act a little immature, most are super young and will have their friends hanging out in the store and will give more of their attention to playing around and talking to them than the customers. I hate to be that person, but I like to be in and out and on a few occasion, someone messed up or forgot something being too preoccupied. But, the ice cream here is the bomb - despite the season. When you should've stayed at home to quarantine but you had a hankering for ice cream..... Went here....they had lines on the floor for social distancing purposes but the nasty little crumb snatcher in front of me was sneezing off and on but the beau and I tried to look past it seeing as though we had masks and gloves. I called about ordering an ice cream cake for my sons birthday and was told the best option would be to come in and order. Im here now Sunday 8/14 @ 1 p.m. waiting for someone to take my cake order. I approached the counter, told him I wanted to place a cake order and he asked when I wanted to pick up, I told him tomorrow. He makes a face and says "Ehhhh you're really cutting close, we like 24 hours". To which I replied "24 hours from now would be 1 pm tomorrow". He says that's the bare minimum. Mind you I actually need the cake for Tuesday. But wanted to pick up the day before as we would be busy all that day. He asked if he could take care of the 3 people he had in line. I told him sure. Driving from DC to Norfolk found this place on yelp hoping it would be a quick pitstop for some ice cream. Unfortunately it took far too long to get our simple order of a birthday cake remix. Only 5-6 people in front of us and it took 25 minutes which was pretty inconvenient. Two girls behind the counter. One labeling strawberry containers (training??) while the other served the customers. I felt bad for the girl serving everyone, she was having to give constant direction to the girl in training while attempting to make ice cream and check the rest of us out. Poor experience. I'm not a fan of doing reviews unless my experience exceeds my expectations or I just receive horrible customer service. This visit was not the best but I gave 4 stars because the young who waited on me was pleasant. So I went in this evening with questions concerning my loyalty/Cold Stone club rewards because I haven't received emails in almost a year. I checked my account online before my visit and it showed that it's still active. My profile showed that I had a BOGO reward for my birthday but didn't specify what size I'm required to purchase in order to receive the discount. I asked the young lady (who's name I don't recall) and she wasn't sure so she asked her co worker (Andrew) who at the time was assisting another customer. He answered her in a manner as if he were irritated by the question and then continued to say that it "says it up there"... Umm... if it were specified I wouldn't be asking the question. I don't know if Andrew was having a bad day or didn't like the fact that he had come out the back to help out but he could have done us a favor and stayed in the back. Stopped here on our way back home to VB. Thought a cold treat was in order for the four of us. We walk in and big hand written sign on ice cream case says credit card machine is busted, cash only. Ok, no problem. We order 2 "love it" , a "like it" and a milk shake. Step down to cash register to pay and I have a $100 bill. Little sign (which I did not see) says "Sorry, we cannon no longer accept 50s or 100s" well guess what, I had $113 in my wallet, my bill was $21.75. I extend my hand to the cashier and he says I can't take that, sorry. I reply, well you can't take my card and this is all I have. He insists he can't take it so I explain again, it's all I have. Now mind you we're already started enjoying our ice cream. He calls someone else over who repeats what they cashier says. I said, it's all I have unless you want to take $13 for my $21 bill. He stands there looking at me and repeats that he can't take it. So I repeat myself, it's all I have, and it's cash. Reluctantly he takes it, says something to another employee who says "Tony gonna be pissed you taking that" - I said tell Tony if he's gonna be cash only, he best expect that some vacationers may not have smaller bills and be grateful a paying customer is a paying customer and perhaps consider posting that sign larger and out it below the "credit card is busted" sign, not at the register at the other end of the counter AFTER order has been taken and made. The cashier, with a snitty attitude, takes my $100 bill and counts me back my $78.25 in change. No "thank you have a nice day" or "thank you please come again." So "Tony" rest assured next time I'm in Hampton and want ice cream, your establishment will be the last place I visit. read more
