I live in New Jersey, where there are wonderful diners that serve delicious desserts, and my favorite go to dessert is German chocolate cake. I was sorely disappointed when I found it was only one layer topped with the German chocolate cake coconut icing. The icing was OK but the cake was gummy and it lacked the extra coconut in the batter and there were no nuts or nut flavoring in the in the cake part. I found the prices to be a bit high, we spent probably close to $65 on these desserts. The ambience was cute and inviting, and the service was great. I think they need to rework some of their recipes, or maybe use better ingredients.
