What a great visit to Coldstone yesterday evening! Super friendly staff + delicious ice cream flavors is made of win! After sampling several options, I decided to go with a combination of cotton candy ice cream and pink lemonade sorbet, plus I requested gummy bears added. All of that went into a waffle cone. It looked pretty epic! And the taste! OMG. I thank myself for choosing those flavors, but appreciate the execution it took to combine everything I'd ordered. I arrived to cold stone door at 9:47pm when I reached for the door a young lady that worked for the store grabbed the from me closed an locked the door an from the inside said we closed an walked away the store had a line but that shouldn't be have been a reason to not serve me especially when the store was still open I understand locking the door at 10pm but the way I was handled yesterday was disappointing I usually go to the Dunkirk location. this was the worst experience I don't know if the staff member was having a bad day but she was extremely rude and mean. Not me! So, we came to the logical conclusion that ice cream sounded like the perfect dinner one recent evening during the heatwave. Somehow we've never tried Cold Stone before, so we figured there was no better time to give it a shot. We were not disappointed! A large milkshake is $10 and change. I didn't have wait for it to melt somewhat nor did I have to work to get it to come through the straw. Barely any ice cream in it. I like it, I love it, and I gotta have it. The staff here is friendly and helpful. I love bringing my kids here on a hot day to get cooled off a bit. I also like it when they suggest we go because I know in my head i'm about to go alllll the way in! The founders favorite is my go to right now, but I like to switch it up. Walked in at 11:02 on a Sunday morning was told by the cashier she can't help me because we don't open for another minute. Common sense would tell you that why is the door unlocked if you're not open, somebody had to open it. Thought it was wise to go word with me Semantics because she's this new generation of people that think that they can refuse service to people which is discriminatory at best I don't care that. Ordered a premium ice cream and the staff wrapped it in a cling wrap!! Later on, we discovered that the ice cream was a complete liquidy trash and burst out of the cling wrap! WTF Coldstone! We requested for a replacement and we were made to pay. You want a feedback? Here's a 1-star! Definitely stay away from this store location. Very unsanitary and unprofessional staff and manager. Very very inconsistent...I dont mind paying a premium for good stuff, just be sort of consistent and be courteous. Kids' "regular sized"?orders were inconsistent in size and it appeared that toppings for one were put in the other's cup while we were making other orders. I asked if the toppings were in there and was told it was already mixed up--when we for to the register that cup looked meager about half a cup with no visible toppings. We rearranged using our other son's ice cream and some of my wife's and paid...There is no shame in admitting you've made a mistake, I wont make the mistake of going back. I'm not a huge cake fan, but I love ice cream. I had NO IDEA I could get an ice cream wedding cake, until I found the listings online. I was so excited when I did! Kelli, the owner, was awesome to work with. I felt like I was working with a family friend. My mom and I met with her, had a delicious tasting, and came up with a cake design I wanted. I was allowed to have a different flavor combination for each layer, too. Kelli was very flexible with getting my cake decor items to her--I sent ribbon, fake flowers and my cake topper. My cake turned out exactly how I wanted. Our venue had a freezer, so when photos ran longer than expected the cake was kept cold until cutting time. Everyone LOVED our cake, and still say it was "the bomb" and "best cake" they ever tasted. Many guests ate two or three slices. Overall, working with Kelli at Cold Stone was a great experience. The pricing is also competitive to traditional wedding cakes. I highly recommend using this vendor. =) TIP: Make sure a bridal party member grabs you a slice and brings it to you and your groom. You'll be too busy to remember to do that yourself. TIP 2: Make sure your top layer is put in the venue's freezer and have your parents (or other loved one) take it home and freeze it for you. That way you can enjoy it on your anniversary--or earlier. read more

4 stars because we all know Cold Stone ice cream is like crack. It's yummy and you'd sell your unborn child for it, because, well, you don't know them yet and you don't know if you'd like them or not. My fave is the Founder's Favorite. In fact, I've tried to just order the brownie that they put it in it by itself, but the nice employee gave me a chunk for free. I was all smiles. There are just so many good options. I think Cold Stone is on the expensive side for ice cream. I mean we could all walk over to Safeway and buy a half-gallon for what they charge for a Like It size, but it wouldn't be as good. This location loses a point though because the owner is stingy. She's a total cheapskate when it comes to toppings. She's an older lady with glasses, and you'll know it's her when she gives you 3 chocolate chips instead of a full scoop. If she's there, try to time it to where you get another employee, if you can't, you could try complaining I suppose. I never did that, but I felt some animosity towards her since she skimped on everyone in our party. The singing for tips is REALLY annoying, but I tell them I'll give them a better tip if they don't sing and sometimes I sneak a tip in there so they don't even know it. I think it would be different if they actually looked like they enjoyed singing, but the they look like they are suffering and their whole bodies look limp as they continue to scoop ice cream with their heads down. Force a caged bird to sing and you get bad music! Overall, good ice cream....unusual things to put up with if you want it. read more

This place rocks! If you like Maggie Moo's, White Mountain Creamery, or any of those other "mix-in" ice cream places, you'll dig this place. I couldn't really tell you what sets this place apart from other ice creameries (...?), but I can say that their sweet cream-flavored ice cream (at only--ha--48 grams of fat) is the best ice cream I've ever had in my pathetic life. The ice cream here is so rich it hurts. But not a hurt like your best friend just papercut you in between your pointer and middle finger pain...more like a "holy crap, if this ice cream were any more delicious, I'd have to smack a bitch!" hurt. Seriously. It's that good. So, then, why is it only given a three-star rating? Because sometimes the wait in line goes out the door and literally into the street, literally. This place is not cool. Not this specific location, just Cold Stone altogether. Since I don't care for ice cream too much generally, I feel like it's easier for me to identify what makes ice cream 'good' as opposed to 'basic' or just 'bad'. Cold Stone is just your run-of-the mill store-bought consistency ice cream embellished by it's interesting flavors and overload of toppings and inclusions. It's not any creamier than the Edy's in my freezer. I can't stand it. There's just something about watching someone slop my melty-looking vomit-resembling ice cream around on a table that makes me feel like I'd rather not eat it. Sure, service is always fine, prices are ok, but I don't make a habit out of coming here for ice cream, unless someone is giving it to me for free. What's not to like? Really tasty, freshly made ice cream with mix-ins that you choose, which are prepared on a cold stone slab right in front of you. Sounds like my idea of paradise. Sometimes, they mix better than others, so your experience may vary, but it's hard to find fault when the biggest complaint is a larger-than-average chunk of a Heath bar. Definitely a great treat (on occasion... gotta watch that waistline)! read more

What kind of ice cream shop doesn't have cones? I'll tell you... this one! They didn't have waffle cones so I asked for a plain sugar cone. They told me they couldn't fit ice cream in a cone that small and would need to also use a cup. Ridiculous. I rarely go splurge on ice cream but this night I was craving for something that would hit the spot. The two girls who helped my sister and I were so rude I can't remember their names but one was a girl with brown hair. She didn't ask me or say anything to me just looked at me like what do you want. After scooping my ice cream I asked her if she could please put a lid on it and then seemed bothered she had to do an extra step. When it was time to pay they didn't tell me how much it was just to insert my card now. This location is the only one I've been to, but it's always clean. Sometimes there's a line, but the employees are good about clearing it efficiently. The Cake Batter flavor is my go-to, and I always, always add sprinkles! Tip: Get a lid if you can't finish it all--you can put it in your freezer at home and save it for later! read more

This Cold Stone location appears to be well-managed and the service met my expectations. I did have an experience where the cashier assumed I was paying for my cousin. Rather than asking me, he charged me for my ice cream and my cousin's. Of course I have no problem paying for my cousin, but this reflects a lack of basic customer service skills. I would normally give this a full on 5stars, but tonight I had a pretty bad experience there. First of all let me start by saying the shop was not busy at all with only 1 group of 3 being helped as we were walking in and 1 group of 3 behind us that arrived as we were ordering. There were 2 employees- so it's not like they were under the pressure of a busy night. I ordered a "like it" size of a signature creation. The employee made my order as my husband and I waited at the register, (here's where it all falls apart for me) as she finished scooping she grabbed a lid and covered the ice cream, some ice cream pushed down on the outside of the container she took her apron and wiped the excess off of my container. Yes, her apron that she had on all day- for all I know it was never washed, full of her hand germs, other people's ice creams heck anything she came in contact with was now on my ice cream. Both my husband and I looked at each other, grossed out. I decided not to say anything because she seemed confused and I didn't want to ruffle her anymore (although it did take her a few try's to check us out because she kept ringing up wrong). Then when I got home and went to eat the I was really disappointed as well. First off the container was about 3/4 full ( able to see the bottom on one side) and all of the mix ins were on the outside not mixed throughout. This made the outside sickening sweet and the rest of it, well, vanilla ice cream.:( I am giving it 3stars because at other times its been good, but tonight turned me off so much, I'm not sure when we will be back. read more
