Your attention to detail even down to the hat and locks on the "One Love -- Bob Marley" theme was beyond our expectations. Their cakes are delicious, and they are so helpful. For a cake competition at work, I needed a custom print on rice paper. They made them for me, explained some nuances of how to apply them, and delivered them on time. When I retired, I ordered the cake from them. I love the atmosphere of cupcakes, tiered cakes, sheet cakes, and lavishly decorated cakes. I'll go to Kake Korner for everything I need from now on. Ms. Donna and the Kake Korner Krew are the absolute best. My sister was turning 40 and I found out she wasn't going to have a cake. I had 48hrs to do something. Overwhelmed, frustrated and with tears in my eyes I prayed and walked into Kake Korner. The Krew and Ms. Donna said they could make it happen and that is exactly what they did. Kake Korner has one of the best yellow cakes in the area, so I knew I wanted to visit them during my search for the perfect wedding cake. We visited two other bakeries but the quality and price that Kake Korner provided solidified our decision. We finalized the order with the owner and she personally delivered the cake to our venue the day of the wedding. To my surprise, she also stayed around before, during, and after the ceremony and sent me beautiful candid photos that I had no idea she took. It was a nice personal touch and on top of that, our guests LOVED the cake. So.... I think I found a new bakery. A coworker told me about Kake Korner years ago. They made a beautiful cake for a bridal party. That being said, I'm from the Northeast and I have struggled for years to find a bakery that lives up to my exacting standards. For my daughter's birthday, she wanted a Hello Kitty cake and my first thought was oh God, where am I going to find a place that can make what she wants and the cake itself actually taste good. I reached out to Kake Korner and after some back and forth, I placed my order and crossed my fingers. Well they nailed it. The cake was exactly what she wanted and she loved it. The cake was moist (which I have struggled for over 6 years in the DMV to find a cake that was not dense as a rock), the buttercreme was perfectly balanced (not to sweet), and it was aesthetically pleasing. My son grew up watching Spongebob (so we all watched Spongebob!) and our family and some friends quote the show often. A few years ago, I saw a Spongebob cake online with a funny quote about 25 and told my son that I would get him one on his 25th birthday. Visited the store today to get a quote and had some of thee best service. I must say that in emailing, the response seemed a little curt but not bad enough to deter me. I also felt inconvenienced having to visit the store during the limited hours (they close at 5 during week) for price info (I understand price varies but starting rates would've been helpful). But honey, the service and cake tasting was worth it. We ordered for a one year old bday party so didnt want to spend toooo much. The owner was very flexible, patient and helped me think through options. Im so glad we didnt simply order from Wegmans. I'll update the review once we receive our oder. read more

You have not experienced cupcake heaven until you've had a cupcake from Kake Korner. I just happened to stumble up on this place in Laurel MD. I was able to get the Tuesday Special....buy 2 cupcakes, get one free. The staff were very friendly. I was able to sample the red velvet and chocolate cakes before purchasing. The snickerdoodle cupcake!!!! OMG!! It was delicious. The cupcakes are nice and moist, very flavorful. In other reviews, I've mentioned my son's allergies and they were very accommodating, packaging his cupcake separate from the others with nuts. I walk through the bakery taking a look at some of the cakes designs. This place is a rising star in the cake business. Be on the lookout for Kake Korner!! read more

I ordered a birthday cake for my girl friends birthday. A friend of mine had one of their cakes at her baby shower and we were so impressed with the snickerdoodle flavored batter (It almost tasted like a cinnamon spice, really good), that we had to get one of our own. I was impressed with the ease of the transaction and communicating the simple design that I wanted on the cake. They ask for 7-10 business days to complete a order, so I went much in advance and everything went smoothly. A few days after my cake order was completed, I received a call asking about my satisfaction with the cake order, which was a nice touch to their customer service. The only reason this place isn't 5-stars is because of the pricing. I paid $160 for a medium-large ONE layer cake with a simple design. I can not justify paying so much money for a cake. It was supposed to feed 25+ people, but cutting generous slices got us slightly less than that. This time around the cake was a gift, so I gave into the expense, but I won't be doing that again. I will probably come again and find a way around purchasing such a pricey cake. read more

On my way to Starbucks, I used to see this cute little cake shop and I decided to check this out to get cake for my friend's b'day celebration. The store was kinda cutely decorated. You walk in and you feel you are little wonderland. I walked at the counter and somebody attended me immediately. She helped me choose the chocolate cake the colored the icing to my choice of color. Staff was super helpful and Whole process was super quick. I even got a sample for tasting. They had very beautiful cakes for other customers to pick up and had a cup cake display in other room which was kinda neat. But the cake was not one of the best I have tried. I ordered the chocolate cake and the flavor was little faded and cake was too sweet and dense textured. I was missing the explosion of chocolate you get after eating a good rich chocolate cake. Icing was nice and creamy but definitely didn't make up dry base. If you are looking for pretty cake then go for it but I wouldn't expect much intensity texture and taste. read more

diane was a mother at the age of 17,, married and working as a waitress,, soon after the birth she had to save money but wanted to make her daughters birthday cake... her sister in law had made one for thier daughter,,, and it was great, so she borrowed the pan and made her first cake it it turned out really cute and it tasted great,,, so everytime someone wanted or needed a cake diane would make it and it was her gift,, so she never had to buy presents... soon the word of mouth spread about her cakes and eventually she was in high demand, her skills for free hand drawing were the most called for as the characters that people wanted were not all made into pan shapes.. eventually she found work in a grocery store as a decorator which further enhanced her skill and speed.. after long consideration she decided to look into owning her own shop and at the insistance of her customers, she bought jps kake korner in 2004... today it is one of the busiest shops in maryland,

My goal right now is to make back to try the hot food bar, but we did decide to try one of the tamales while we were there. First of all, it's the largest tamale I've ever had. It's about the size of a small burrito. It also happens to be one of the most delicious tamales I've ever eaten. 2 large chunks of fork tender pork are hiding beneath the mass of impeccably seasoned masa along with some veg and sauce. I get this and a plastic box of assorted pastries. The pan de queso is delicious. It is the most soft and supple pan de queso I've had, it almost completely falls apart as soon as you take a bite. The cheese flavor is very apparent, and it is balanced. I also try a pineapple layered pastry that is quite delicious, and a soft buttery bread with cheese on the bottom as well. It is REALLY good. I've truly never had Latin pastries that were this good. I haven't had MANY Latin pastries, but these were surely the best out of the few I've had. Can't wait to come back and try more.

My goal right now is to make back to try the hot food bar, but we did decide to try one of the tamales while we were there. First of all, it's the largest tamale I've ever had. It's about the size of a small burrito. It also happens to be one of the most delicious tamales I've ever eaten. 2 large chunks of fork tender pork are hiding beneath the mass of impeccably seasoned masa along with some veg and sauce. I get this and a plastic box of assorted pastries. The pan de queso is delicious. It is the most soft and supple pan de queso I've had, it almost completely falls apart as soon as you take a bite. The cheese flavor is very apparent, and it is balanced. I also try a pineapple layered pastry that is quite delicious, and a soft buttery bread with cheese on the bottom as well. It is REALLY good. My first…read moreconversation with her went well, and I explained to her that I needed the order for my daughter's sweet 16. I had thoroughly researched her website and social media beforehand. We had arranged to pick up the order on the morning of the event. When my cousin and I arrived on time, we found Stacey still in the process of preparing the order. As we waited, I noticed ants crawling around the box of cupcakes. At first, I thought I was mistaken, but upon closer inspection, I found another one. I immediately brought this to my cousin's attention and then alerted Stacey. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, she began yelling and using offensive language. Although she apologized and offered to remake the order. I accepted but then as soon as I left her establishment I sent her a text to declined as I was too disgusted and frustrated to accept anything from her store. In my text I expressed my concern about the health and sanitation issue and requested a full refund. However, she only acknowledged my message late that evening, stating that she was already remaking the order and would discard the original. I responded professionally, reiterating my request for a refund to be issued to my card. She confirmed that the refund had been processed and that I would receive an email confirmation. Subsequently, I waited for five days while the transaction was pending, only to find out yesterday that she had retracted the charge. I immediately sent her another text urging her to rectify the issue as soon as possible, but I have neither heard back from her nor seen any sign of the refund being reissued. I find this level of unprofessionalism completely unacceptable, especially in the food business where there are potential health risks. Stacey should have taken accountability for the situation. Not only was I out of the money for the original order, but I also had to spend more money to purchase a cake at the last minute. In light of my experience, I strongly advise against doing business with her. This whole situation has been utterly disgusting and unacceptable.
