Ms. Donna and the Kake Korner Krew are the absolute best. My sister was turning 40 and I found out she wasn't going to have a cake. I had 48hrs to do something. Overwhelmed, frustrated and with tears in my eyes I prayed and walked into Kake Korner. The Krew and Ms. Donna said they could make it happen and that is exactly what they did. The cake was beautiful, flavorful, moist and affordable. Thank you for saving the day and me from almost falling apart. I recommend them for all occasion cakes and cupcakes. So.... I think I found a new bakery. A coworker told me about Kake Korner years ago. They made a beautiful cake for a bridal party. That being said, I'm from the Northeast and I have struggled for years to find a bakery that lives up to my exacting standards. For my daughter's birthday, she wanted a Hello Kitty cake and my first thought was oh God, where am I going to find a place that can make what she wants and the cake itself actually taste good. I reached out to Kake Korner and after some back and forth, I placed my order and crossed my fingers. Well they nailed it. The cake was exactly what she wanted and she loved it. The cake was moist (which I have struggled for over 6 years in the DMV to find a cake that was not dense as a rock), the buttercreme was perfectly balanced (not to sweet), and it was aesthetically pleasing. You have a new customer. I will definitely order from here again and tell everyone to order from here. read more

My son grew up watching Spongebob (so we all watched Spongebob!) and our family and some friends quote the show often. A few years ago, I saw a Spongebob cake online with a funny quote about 25 and told my son that I would get him one on his 25th birthday. His 25th birthday was last Sunday and lo and behold, I got him this amazing cake from Kake Korner. We bought cakes from this bakery previously and they are always beautiful and delicious. So, I went to Kake Korner and showed them a few pictures of what I wanted and they did not disappoint! My son saw the cake and he was extremely excited and impressed with how awesome it was. I definitely recommend Kake Korner to anyone looking for a cake or cupcakes. read more

You have not experienced cupcake heaven until you've had a cupcake from Kake Korner. I just happened to stumble up on this place in Laurel MD. I was able to get the Tuesday Special....buy 2 cupcakes, get one free. The staff were very friendly. I was able to sample the red velvet and chocolate cakes before purchasing. The snickerdoodle cupcake!!!! OMG!! It was delicious. The cupcakes are nice and moist, very flavorful. In other reviews, I've mentioned my son's allergies and they were very accommodating, packaging his cupcake separate from the others with nuts. I walk through the bakery taking a look at some of the cakes designs. This place is a rising star in the cake business. Be on the lookout for Kake Korner!! read more

Visited the store today to get a quote and had some of thee best service. I must say that in emailing, the response seemed a little curt but not bad enough to deter me. I also felt inconvenienced having to visit the store during the limited hours (they close at 5 during week) for price info (I understand price varies but starting rates would've been helpful). But honey, the service and cake tasting was worth it. We ordered for a one year old bday party so didnt want to spend toooo much. The owner was very flexible, patient and helped me think through options. Im so glad we didnt simply order from Wegmans. I'll update the review once we receive our oder. read more

I ordered a birthday cake for my girl friends birthday. A friend of mine had one of their cakes at her baby shower and we were so impressed with the snickerdoodle flavored batter (It almost tasted like a cinnamon spice, really good), that we had to get one of our own. I was impressed with the ease of the transaction and communicating the simple design that I wanted on the cake. They ask for 7-10 business days to complete a order, so I went much in advance and everything went smoothly. A few days after my cake order was completed, I received a call asking about my satisfaction with the cake order, which was a nice touch to their customer service. The only reason this place isn't 5-stars is because of the pricing. I paid $160 for a medium-large ONE layer cake with a simple design. I can not justify paying so much money for a cake. It was supposed to feed 25+ people, but cutting generous slices got us slightly less than that. This time around the cake was a gift, so I gave into the expense, but I won't be doing that again. I will probably come again and find a way around purchasing such a pricey cake. read more

Unfortunately, when we got the cake and took it out to thaw before serving, the cake itself was pretty dry and the layers of cream were inconsistent. It didn't feel like the cake I had before, because the first cake we ordered from them was really good! So I was a little disappointed. I'd probably go back for smaller cakes next time because their service is great and we used them before.

They gave me the price over the phone and I described exactly what I was looking for and they ensured me it would be perfect. Well time came and I arrived and let's just say the cake was beautiful. The best looking Cake I have ever laid my eyes on. The taste let's just say it is heaven on earth. Call them up or swing on by they can make dreams happen here.

Not worth coming here trust me!…read more A bake shop that specializes in making cakes and cupcakes. You can't just walk in and order a cupcake, like other places. The minimum order is 6! And they arent cheap. So be prepared to wait 15 minutes for a minimum order. I got strawberry shortcake and pretty in pink. The icings of both were good but cake part was less to be desired. The cake was a little mushy and not firm and not tasty. Definitely not of high quality ingredients. It would be nice if they offered other baked goodies that you can get without waiting. On my first visit my guy, was pleased to see a blacked owned business in the area. The owner seemed to be insulted by the comment. She snapped back and said we are a "woman owned business" in a sassy tone. Ummm ok lady, dude was trying to give you a compliment okay! For an expensive cupcake place you would expect better decor. Not sure if the women there are all related but they need to lose the stale face attitude and save the snotty comments and they should lower their prices on their low quality cupcakes.

My husband doesn't like coconut, but it was so subtle he couldn't taste it. It was heavenly. It was a generous size for only $2 compared to other bakeries. I would definitely choose the Aloha cookie over any cookie at Crumbl and it's way cheaper too. I also purchased a maple bacon and German chocolate cupcake, which my husband and I split. Both were delicious, however, we thought the bacon was a bit too smoky. I wanted to try the salted caramel, but it wasn't available. Aside from cupcakes and cookies, they also sell brownies, pies, and prepackaged popcorn. They had sample popcorn available, which I took advantage of. I am definitely a huge fan and will be returning.

I ordered a birthday cake for my mom's birthday celebration, and it started from seeing a post on Instagram. I spoke with the owner on the phone to discuss my vision for the cake, and after seeing the outcome, I have to say it was executed well! The cake had four layers, and we had the option to choose two flavors - so we went with vanilla and lemon. Both tasted so good! I'm usually not a fan of lemon anything, but I was really impressed with this one. Unfortunately, I didn't like the outer red icing. It wasn't edible and had a very bitter taste. I understand that darker icings require more food coloring, but this was to the point where it couldn't even be eaten. Because the actual cake itself was really good, it was easy to overlook the frosting. I usually don't eat too much icing anyway, but we chose this color because of the theme of my mom's party. I'm sure a lighter frosting that doesn't require much food coloring wouldn't have such a bitter taste. Cedars Cakes also sells cupcakes and other baked goods, such as cookies and macaroons in the store. If this bake shop was here ten years ago when I was attending college in the area, I know I would've frequented so often! The cake was absolutely delicious and my mom was very happy with it. Thank you, Cedars Cakes for such a beautiful cake!!
