Ice cream with strawberries and blueberries sitting in a waffle bowl
Alan F.

After having a somewhat salty dinner, I needed something cold and refreshing. Ice cream in a waffle bowl sounded just right. Especially on a warm "rare" evening in San Francisco. Really delicious and creamy. Hence the name "creamery." I forgot what I ordered, but it has vanilla ice cream with waffle bowl, blueberries and strawberries. I ordered via Door Dash, and it was a fast delivery. Within 10 minutes. Prices are reasonable considering how tasty the ice cream is.

I came here close to closing, and got the oreo one and subbed choclolate and my boyfriend got the cake one. Ice cream was very well mixed and delicious, fast service and everything looked good. I felt bad coming so late but okay service. Normal vibes here.

Missing waffle cones. Small sizes. Too complicated of order for this store to get correct.

Just wanted to try this location one last time on Uber Eats and ofc they still are too challenged by 2 ice creams (upgraded to love it) with 2 waffle cones. That is just too complicated of an order. Yet again, they leave out the cones, and use the standard small size. Let's replace these great thinkers with robots please. Honestly, how difficult is it to scoop 2 ice creams into the correct size tub and append 2 waffle cones and a tub of ice cream to the order. Jfc. This store is 0/12 getting an order completely correct. I've honestly never ordered from Uber Eats from a location that cant put together such a simple order. It's a Wednesday ffs, it's not busy....

Ice cream was okay. The last 3 times they didn't have cake batter which was unfortunate. Dim ambiance. Service was quick. They close 40 minutes early and don't open at the time they say. I saw tons of people getting rejected at the door for going 45 minutes before close. Also there was something in the toppings which was, again, unfortunate.

Good but not great. What makes Cold Stone creamery great is when they thoroughly mix in the fruit and other toppings. Here, apparently the ice cream is too frozen for them to thoroughly mix it or they just don't put enough muscle into it.

Stuck together like caramel and fudge and dough for it..super melty

I have not been here in years. I feel like the last time I was here was maybe a few months or so after they first opened? I figured it would be a good idea to use the cold stone gift cards that I've been holding on to for a while now. Honestly, I was surprised this place is still open, and so many people still go here. Once I thought about it, there's not a lot of ice cream places in the area. The service was pretty fast. My ice creams were a lot more melted than I anticipated, but still good.

The ice cream looks rich and creamy, and there are so many tempting flavors to choose from. Looks like a perfect spot for a sweet treat.

Amausaan Uji Matcha - next to Vans in Serramonte

Amausaan Uji Matcha

3.5(131 reviews)

Another late review here, whoops…read more Can I tell ya'all how stoked I was to walk around Serramonte Mall and find AMAUSAAN UJI MATCHA? Just the mention of "matcha" and I am there, so even before I approached the store to peruse the menu, I knew that I had to go there and try something. Not just an ice cream parlour, AMAUSAAN UJI MATCHA is a matcha specialty sweet shoppe that specializes in a range of matcha-based desserts, including lattes, soft serve, and traditional Japanese desserts. This location of the Japanese dessert café was uber kawaii ("cute" in Japanese) in décor with a kimono-dressed white rabbit standing beneath lit lanterns, welcoming guests at the entrance. Pink walls and faux cherry blossom trees created a serene atmosphere, inviting patrons to savour their treats in a tranquil setting reminiscent of a cherry blossom festival in Japan. I did my research - AMAUSAAN UJI MATCHA is a tea brand that offers Uji matcha, regarded as the highest grade of matcha in Japan, sourced from the renowned Amausaan farm. This store's menu featured a delightful selection of cones, parfaits, cakes, smoothies, sodas and more, most of which were infused with the rich and vibrant flavour of matcha. Below are some items that we ordered: K2 Uji Matcha Latte with Matcha Soft Serve & K1 Royal Uji Matcha with Matcha Ice Cream Ball - For a more pronounced matcha taste, it was worth paying extra for the floats of a swirl of soft serve and a scoop of ice cream. B1 Double Matcha - V ordered this creamy soft serve infused with high-quality Uji matcha, served in a cone. Despite the silky and smooth texture, V was meh over the flavour. L1 Ice Royal Uji Matcha & L2 Ice Matcha Latte - Unlike K1 & K2, these yummy FLOATS were automatically served with matcha soft serve toppings. Both offered perfect balances of sweetness and bitterness with each sip. E1 Inari Chidori Matcha Mille Crepes - I was excited to dive into the 18 layered delicate sheets of sweet crêpes, separated by even airier layers of light matcha-flavoured whipped cream, topped with a dust of green matcha powder. Surprisingly, I wasn't blown away by this cake as I expected. Just ok I found this dessert to be. I was sad to see AMAUSAAN UJI MATCHA leave the Serramonte Mall.

Because who doesn't love a super cute themed Japanese dessert place? I guess with the location being in the mall, the lack of staff, ingredients or what not, the entire parfait section of the menu wasn't available and I can only order a drink to go and it was served in a to go cup instead. Just tasted like a standard sweet matcha milk with some matcha ice cubes. The interior was cute, but that was it. A good part of going to a place like this is to enjoy the presentation and atmosphere, so it killed a bit of the vibe. Fingers crossed that this place survives or this franchise gets revitalized elsewhere or tries in SoCal!

Situated in a corner spot of the Fairmont Center, there is plenty of parking in the shopping centre's lot. This location of Rite Aid & Thrifty ICE CREAM is also conveniently neighbours with other retailers such as Safeway and DOLLAR TREE as well as eateries like Bolare Trattoria & Restaurant and Guerrero's TAQUERIA 2. Inside, the venue is always brightly lit, fairly clean, and tidy. Yes, this Thrifty ICE CREAM counter gives free sample tastings and their scoops are still in cylinder shape, too! At our most recent visit on Thursday, October 10, 2024, Tebo served us our ice cream orders with a friendly smile. Just like the old days, ice cream prices are still impressively affordable, especially compared to every other creamery. They didn't have a visible menu because the TV's the menu is normally displayed on wasn't working. So I asked the guy what they had, told him what I wanted, paid and waited. I paid $33 for 1 big ass sandwich, 2 glass bottle Jarritos and a bag of chips. To me, that's a really good deal considering I paid about the same for much less at other spots. The real difference maker was the size and weight of this sandwich. A little over 2lbs and just as big as the bag of chips I got. Kinda messy to eat, but every bite was just as good. I got sourdough bread with turkey, bacon, avocado and all the toppings. This is probably one of those places I would go out of my way because it delivers in value and taste. Not to mention the wide variety of drinks and chips. Highly recommended.
