I'm honestly very disappointed with my experience. I was looking forward to enjoying my ice cream, but as soon as I got it, I noticed that it was already melted way more than it should have been. It didn't seem fresh at all and made the whole experience messy and unappetizing. Ice cream is supposed to be cold and enjoyable, not practically liquid before you even get a chance to eat it. What made the situation even worse was finding a hair in my ice cream. That completely ruined my appetite and immediately made me question the cleanliness and care put into preparing and serving food. Finding something like that is unacceptable and very unsanitary. It made me feel uncomfortable and disappointed because customers should be able to trust that basic hygiene standards are being followed. I normally try to give places the benefit of the doubt, but between receiving melted ice cream and then finding a hair in it, this experience was frustrating and gross. I expected much better quality and attention to detail. I hope improvements are made because no customer should have an experience like this. read more

Very rude staff. It was 9 of us. We ended up leaving without buying ice cream. No one even looked at us for more than 10 minutes while we were waiting in line to be served. There were few more people behind us in the line. No one was being served at all as manager was busy stocking store for next day so that she may leave for home on time. Secondly jobs should not be performed while there are 15 customers waiting in line to be served. Clearly manager was upset on the rush during the last hour. She made sure that she does not serve until few people leave without food. I feel bad for the business owner. They should at least watch cameras if they cannot be there themselves on busy weekend nights. read more

I have been a loyal Coldstone customer for years. I have patronaged the Garden City location for many many years. Always had a positive experiencE, the wait was minimal (5minutes or less) and even though there were usually only two staff, they were always efficient, friendly, and professional. This was my guilty pleasure. This week I have visited the store twice. Each time to be told they did not have the ice cream I was looking for which is not a problem in and of itself . The problem is that with four staff behind the counter, I had to wait five times longer than usual. Even more disconcerting was the lackadasical attitude of the staff. They use their signature process of preparing your custom ice cream creation on a granite slab. My daughter and I stopped in last week and as usual, left very satisfied. They have many amazing creations such as Birthday Cake Remix, to Peanutbutter Cup Perfection, to a great concoction called Cookie Monster. They also have every topping you can think if, as well as the usual fudge, caramel, and strawberry sauces. I'm happy there's one located close to my neighborhood for when I need that sweet yummy fix. I know at this time the covid19 virus is still a worry for many, however I didn't appreciate being chastised by the bar maid to stand on a blue square outlines on the floor. I'm an adult in my 50s and I felt like I was back in junior high. This method wasn't effective because grubhub or similar runners were still standing near me to get their orders as were people cashing out. I understand working during Covid can be extremely stressful time in the food industry as I work in the food Industry but wow were these girls disrespectful. When I first arrived it was very busy and the line was out the door. I went in and walked to the counter to pick up the order I placed online and the girls were rudely telling people to wait outside instead of asking nicely or just reminding the customers about social distancing. My order was behind and I went the girl went to make my icecream, I had to ask her to mix in the add ons which I have never had to do in all the years I have been coming here. SWEEEEEEEEEEET!! Coldstones ice cream is very creamy and I like it like that! No line on a weekday around 4:15pm. The attendant was nice, make what we asked for and we sat at one of the small tables in house while we enjoyed our treat. I had my favorite flavor, cake batter and had graham crackers and white chocolate added in. My daughter went with something super fruity and gummies added in. it's clean, priced around other places and tasty. Yummy ice cream that you can customize with an array of mix ins. Their ice cream is more about fat and mouthfeel than sugar which I appreciate. Make sure to try the sweet cream flavor with a fruit mix. A few critiques: the ice cream is a bit soft which means you need to eat it fast or have a puddle of cream soup; also there's only one non dairy option most days which limits my visits since I have a lactose intolerant kid. This is probably not a store you want to hang out in... it's small, dark with just a few tables. Still it's clean and the staff are friendly. read more

You know I love me some Birthday Cake Remix, so even though I don't frequent Cold Stone all that often, I've always enjoyed it when I do. However, that impression changed when the other night we decided to pay them a visit and pick up a take home ("Ours") container. We requested French Vanilla ice cream with cookie dough and fudge sauce. After the girl behind the counter made it, she informed us that they no longer had lids for the carton, so they had to Saran Wrap it for us. Ok, weird, but no big deal (I mean, how do you have the containers but not the lids?). But then we got home and discovered that the "mixed" ice cream with the cookie dough and fudge sauce only made up HALF of the container! The whole top half was plain vanilla ice cream she had just added to the top (we had noticed her at one point adding more ice cream to the container after she had already mixed some of it, but had assumed it would be mixed separately and added). In addition to the container being half plain vanilla ice cream, she only mixed one cookie dough "cookie" thing into it, which I'm pretty sure is the same amount you would get if you ordered the "Love it" size. In other words, approximately a quarter amount of the ice cream we actually purchased. If we had wanted plain vanilla ice cream we would have just gone to the supermarket, and probably paid a lot less for it. F minus, Cold Stone Cranston. read more

I drive from Greenville to go to the Cranston location. The sweet cream with Reese's is my favorite! My youngest daughter gets cotton candy ice cream mixed with strawberry. No big deal at first since I wasn't sure what I wanted to order yet but still someone should at least let you know they're available for any questions or samples requests. Halfway through "creating" my scoop I was informed that they were all out of the main topping ingredient and asked if I wanted a different topping. That should've been it and I should've left but my friend and her daughter were already ordering and I didn't want to rain on their ice cream parade. I chose a different topping. I asked for it in a dipped waffle bowl. Was informed they were out of all waffle bowls. Chose a waffle cone. Paid around $8. Sat down to the soggiest, nastiest waffle cone I have ever tasted. It was pure mush. Not even worth a dollar let alone 8. The location was pretty dirty. Tables and floors covered in sticky crunchy mess. Eventually the line got long and 3 other employees finally crept out of the back to assist customers. Would be nice if they informed people when they ordered something that the main ingredient is all used up so they can choose a completely different menu item. Cold Stone, here at Cold Stone, we're a happy ice cream fam-i-lyyyyy! (Remember when Cold Stone used to sing for tips? Ahh, those were the days!) Anyway, I love me some Cold Stone, and I was so excited when this little shop opened up and freed me from having to hop to the Division Street location (which to my understanding has since closed...too bad.) This shop is a little on the tight side, so as long as you are there during non-peak times, it's not too bad. The staff is generally very friendly, though they have seemed to be a bit understaffed as of late. They typically have 1 counter person per group, but when there is no one else in the shop and a party of 5-6 people rolls in, it makes sense to divide and conquer. But hey, that's just me. The ice cream here is always fresh, as are the toppings. However, depending on who's working your "Love it" may be more like a "Like it" or vice versa. Inconsistent, but I can deal with inconsistency when it's oh so tasty. read more

I really enjoy going to Cold Stone Creamery! The parking lot is very busy now that Garden City is expanding in leaps and bounds. What I enjoy most about Cold Stone is the ability to take real ice cream and mix in all the good stuff that I love. The suggestions for mix ins and flavors never disappoint. My biggest complaint is the lack of seating. There are a few small tables inside but no where to go outside, which is where I like to sit while eating ice cream. My kids are always satisfied with the kiddie size and the staff is friendly as our family of four spends several minutes pick out which flavor we like best. She called one of the employees from the back to help out. He proceeded to help the person in front of us, but then went back to making waffle cones and refilling the ice cream case. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND SUPPORT THE MONEY HUNGRY OWNER!!! I ordered a custom Hello Kitty birthday cake for my niece's 6th birthday. I had placed my order 2 weeks in advance with the store owner who even showed me the Hello Kitty image that was supposed to appear on the cake. When I arrived to pick up my cake, the (very helpful) girl who was working behind the counter opened up the cake box to show me the cake, and it was a normal birthday cake, no Hello Kitty, no special theme. The cake was pink with flowers and had "Happy Birthday ____" written on it. I politely told the girl that this was not the custom cake that I had ordered. She quickly called the owner who was not working that day. After she spoke to the owner, the girl told me that the custom Hello Kitty image I had ordered was not available, and that was it. As the party was only hours away, I told the girl (who was still very helpful and understanding) that I would take the cake, but that I expected to be refunded for the custom design that I did not receive. She phoned the owner again and returned to tell me that the owner said that the cake was "custom" and that he was willing to give me 10% back. I had paid the full balance of $76.67 in cash when I originally placed the order. I told the girl that his offer was not satisfactory and downright unfair. She phoned the owner again and I asked to speak with him. He pathetically apologized twice and it clearly was not sincere. I then insisted that I be refunded for the custom theme that was not on the cake. The owner told me that I had 2 options, 10% back (which did not cover the cost of the custom theme) or 90% back (10% he would keep because they HAD to go out and buy a plastic Hello Kitty that I would have to place on top of the cake myself) and I leave without a cake at all. I also doubt that a plastic Hello Kitty cost $7, but again, besides the point. He again told me that the cake they had created for me was custom. I let him know that I would have appreciated, let alone that he should have known to contact me if the original cake I had ordered could not be made so we could make alternate arrangements. At that point he told me that he called me twice, I responded that I had not received any phone calls or messages, he then told me that when he called my phone was disconnected (LIE!!!). I told him that my phone number was working and had been for the past 12 years. He then accused me of giving him the wrong number in which I read my correct phone number that he literally scribbled on the order sheet that was right in front of me. I told him that I wanted 100% of my money back and it wasn't my fault he screwed up and I shouldn't have to pay for HIS mistake. He insisted again that he would keep 10% because they had to go out and buy a tchotchke Hello Kitty toy for the cake. Obviously at this point I was furious, so furious that I'm shaking just typing this two days later. I told him that I did not request a plastic Hello Kitty on top of the cake nor did I authorize him to buy one. I insisted one last time that I wanted 100% of my money back and he hung up the phone on me. He then called back immediately and spoke to the still very helpful and sympathetic girl behind the counter. I told her I wanted to speak with him again and she told me he refused to speak to me and wanted her to call the cops (even though I had yet to raise my voice to the girls working or even get an attitude with them, it was NOT their faults, so why would I have). I told her I welcomed the notion of the cops coming. When the officer arrived shortly after he told me that unfortunately, legally I had no rights when it came to disgusting, horrific, and downright greedy, blatantly ignorant customer service, although I could bring him to small claims court. I left with 90% of the price that I paid for the cake. When I asked the girl for the number to their corporate office, she told me that the owner said that they didn't keep the number to their corporate office in the store (also an obvious lie). Needless to say I will be contacting Cold Stone's corporate office and filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau about this incident. It's not about the money, this is about principle. If someone chooses to open up a business and make a living that way, then they should have the intelligence (and decency) to offer good customer service and I sure as h*ll do not have a problem with complaining about those that don't. I am absolutely disgusted with this man and I honestly feel terrible for the poor girls who work for him. They were nothing but helpful to me and it was as obvious to them as it was to me (and now you) that their boss was in the WRONG. *There has already been a complaint to the BBB about this particular Cold Stone Creamery!
