I really love Diggy's! It's close by for me and I feel I always get a good amount of ice cream ( I've never tried the food, but it's nice to know they have food as well). I got a small vanilla soft serve ice cream with extra sprinkles and she understood the assignment. Extra sprinkles did I get and was so excited. For some reason a lot of other companies charge you extra when you ask for extra sprinkles and barely put any, not here they aren't shy. The customer service was excellent, and luckily we got there right before the line started, but they move very quickly. They do have indoor and outdoor seating we sat outside and enjoyed our ice cream on the benches. My boyfriend got a 2 scoop of strawberry hard ice cream and he said it was very good, better than the last place we went which I won't name. We will be back. Diggy's is one of the best in the area. Great ice cream, great food, great service. I had clam cakes and chowder . There were plenty of clams in the chowder and the calm cakes were good too. They're the kind of cakes that I dip in my chowder, nice and crispy on the outside. For a cup of chowder and three clam cakes, you can't go wrong for $6.00. Great menu for kids and adults, great prices, great value. They have picnic tables outside, a little area indoors, and some people eat at their cars in the large parking lot. read more

Our fave spot for ice cream and clam cakes during the summer! This roadside retreat may not look like much, but they serve up some of the best old-school grub in Rhode Island. My boyfriend's mom is obsessed with this place, and totally got us hopping on the Diggy's bandwagon this summer - I am so glad we did! As other reviewers have stated, you can't go wrong with clam cakes and chowder at $6 a pop. All of the soups are made in-house, and I also really love the chicken noodle soup as well. As for sweet treats, the classic Root Beer Floats are iconic, and make you feel like you're an extra in Grease or something. They also have an extensive menu of ice cream flavors, including sugar free options and even dog ice cream! I highly recommend this family run business. The owners, John and Shu also support nearby residents and employ many students. The food is delicious and the service is AMAZING. Everyone there works very hard and it is the best place for ice cream and chowder and clam cakes in the State. The staff are kind and courteous and patient with customers especially when there are lines. Its nice to see lines of people heading out to support a local business. Proves the food and service are second to none. Going to Diggys is more than getting take out or a cone of ice cream, it's a FUN, delicious experience. Cute little setup in West Warwick. I decided to try this place after passing by and seeing families out at the tables enjoying their ice cream. The young lady who took my order was very helpful and courteous however I wasn't pleased with the food nor ice cream. I ordered a cheeseburger and the meat patty was definitely not of good quality. It tasted very cheap and just wasn't flavorful.The ice cream was okay, nothing to brag about. Tasted like what you would purchase from Baskin Robbins or something of the sort. I think due to me getting ice cream from creameries the last few years, it clouded my judgment. read more

This is our favorite ice cream place in the area. We have been going to Diggy's for many years and enjoy the ice creams that they have as well as the root beer float and the friendly personable staff who work there. The owners are always kind and friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. I also love to go there because of the sugar free options that they have which makes it nice for me. And my friend loves his root beer floats which are very good. We have never tried the food only because we think of it as an ice cream place but I have heard good things about the food that they serve which is simple typical fried foods. Diggy's is an icon in West Warwick and a place that people love to go and get their ice cream on a hot summer night or any time of the year because they are open all year now which is lovely. read more

First time here for the fish&chips. The reviews were good saying how great the fish was. I hate to say that's not my experience. The fish is FROZEN. Why, when we have fresh fish do places use frozen. Their ice cream and shakes are amazing. They offer food too. Chicken, burgers, hot dogs. I got a cheeseburger for 4 dollars and it tasted fresh off the grill from a backyard. (I believe it really was) Definitely a nice little hidden gem. read more

The ice cream is delicious. That said, we waited 45 minutes to get it with only ONE person in line in front of me. That person only ordered one cone and a bottled water. I ordered two cones an two waters. The girl behind the counter seemed totally confused by my bizzare order and kept bringing us the wrong flavors and wrong sizes. I've been coming to Diggy's for at least 20 years. Their food and icecream is delicious and would give them a 5 star. However, within the last couple of years they have gotten so cheap with their scoop sizes! It's ridiculous I have to pay for a large to get a decent amount of icecream. So as of last year, I switched to Papas icecream in Warwick and their portions are insane!!! Their kid size scoop is literally bigger than Diggy's large size and it's delicious!! A great mom and pop ice cream shop here in west warwick. Walk up service not just ice cream also burgers, hot dogs, fish & chips and plenty more. Always busy during the summer for a while they only accepted cash but finally started taking credit cards. Definitely in the area you should try them out. read more

I have been going to Diggy's for over 15 years and in the last few years service has gone down the toilet. I have had ice creams where they scoops fall completely off of the cone because there is NO ICE CREAM IN THE CONE for years. I went to college and hoped that they got their act together, I was wrong. I went there tonight and made sure to ask the girl working at the counter to push the ice cream into the cone, something I should have never had to do. Immediately after I got back into my car, my thumb shot straight through the cone because as you may have guessed, THERE WAS NO ICE CREAM IN THE ACTUAL CONE. I went back up to the window and asked for a new one and showed that the ice cream was in fact NOT IN THE CONE as I had asked and any customer would have expected. I should have never had to ask in the first place. The owner said that the best she could do was put it upside down in a cup, not in the cone as I wanted. I went back to the car and as most of it was already completely melted I was not going to eat it and went back AGAIN and said I was not going to eat it. The girl at the counter began to rudely laugh at me and my mom asked her why she was laughing. Obviously she did not have an answer as laughing at customers and then admitting it is frowned upon in business. She simply replied, "I'll go get the owner" while still laughing. The owner once again told me that she could only put it in a cup with a cone on top. Anyone who has ever gotten an ice cream cone before knows that that is not how an ice cream cone works. Apparently the owner does not know this. I requested my money back for the second time and was given some money back but not all of my $5.13. I was given $4.43 back. I walked away with no ice cream, less money than I arrived with and even wasted my time and money giving the girl a tip. Here's a tip: don't be rude and laugh at your disgruntled customers and do your job correctly the first time so you don't have disgruntled customers to laugh at. read more
