My cousin Oamr & his dad Bill own this so listen up. Several weeks ago I got a hamburger it was GREAT!!! Ordered a fish taco (mahimahi) but they were out. Instead of refunding the item that was out, they gave me a shrimp taco...don't eat shrimp!! Talked to Crystal but never even given a refund or replacement just a simple better luck next time. I didn't find that very FUCKING funny. Ordered a second burger few weeks later & not only checked no pickles, even told the cook I can't have them. The burger? Pretty good food. The salad was top-notch, even though they got my order wrong. The service was a bit slow, and they weren't even busy, but we honestly didn't mind. Boneless wings and fries were good. Malibu cranberry with lime was quality. They should definitely brew their own sweet tea though. Also, they kicked everyone out earlier than their hours say that they're open, which I thought was weird. Maybe it was because it was a Saturday night and there were barely any people there? I've been to the cold spot in Crosslanes MANY times and stopped here on the way back from Fayetteville. We sat for attest 40min and absolutely no acknowledgment from the server that we were even there. Something should have told us something was up when we watched table full after table full of people getting up and leaving (one table just split and didn't even pay for their beer) Again, server had no idea what happened. The server from the video parlor was back and forth but the main restaurant seemed like they could care less. One family actually asked if it would be helpful if they got their own drinks and was told "sorry... it happens sometimes" I would never advise anyone to stop in here unless you're sitting AT the bar because that guy and his girl seemed like they were getting good service. Wings were great! Service...alot to be desired. When we came in the place was a little busy which is always a good thing. The only booth open besides a table had drinks on from former patrons. We sat down and the table next to us had to tell the server we were new to the table and hadnt been waited on. First we sat at a table that never got cleaned off from previous guests until we had to ask the cook when he delivered our food. Granted we asked the server when we first sat down. Pretty bad during this covid pandemic. Server never asked how things were and if we needed anything during our visit of over an hour and half. We both got one drink and no refills. She never even checked on us even after almost all customers were gone. After driving by this spot dozens of times and hearing great things about its co-owned locations in Charleston, I decided to stop for some wings. It was on a Saturday evening around 5 and they weren't too busy yet. Just the bartender was working, but she did OK tending to me at the table. I got a dozen Agent Orange bone-in wings. The wings were decent. I was hoping for a bit more kick to the sauce, as the waitress suggested there'd be, but it was basically like the sauce you see on orange chicken at Chinese restaurants. I work in a service industry and this is by far the worst service I have ever gotten. The Cold Spot use to be one of our favorite places to hang out after work especially on wing night. The man who works there does not even know what whiskey is. WTF. He asked my friend if he wanted clear or brown whiskey. COME ON! And the tall glass of beer with 6 inches of head is totally unacceptable. They pour the drafts beers vertical into the glass, come on it does not take much to tilt the glass. And when they float kegs they just tell you to buy bottles of beer. The food is still really really good but the staff is so lazy and rude it has killed all the business that use to roll in (raft guides and guests from the companies) Update (6/10/14) We came back to the Cold Spot the food once again was amazing. But the waiter got all our wings mixed up and some of the wings were so hot it was unbearable. But worst of all, one of my friends ordered a draft beer and there was stuff floating around in the beer! The keg lines obviously have not been cleaned in forever!! Neat little place just off of 19 in Glen Jean. They have a big menu, not just wings. You can get burgers, salads, gyros, onion rings, jalapeno poppers, etc. I had six of their traditional wings with agent orange sauce, which is sort of like an Asian orange/ginger sauce. Very good. Blue cheese dressing is nice and thick with big assed chunks of cheese. Beer is cold, and they have a wide variety on tap. I for one was glad they had Newcastle. They have a gorgeous back deck you can hang out on as well. This is a good place to go if you decide you're burned out on all of the more talked about Fayetteville places. read more
