The absolute best thing was the canyon rim view! There are different room types, canyon or forest view, so plan accordingly! The rooms are comfy with nice beds, television, and WiFi, but no microwave or fridge. No worries! Bring a cooler and get some ice from the dispensers and you are all set! The onsite restaurant has one of the best views of the gorge and all the food was fantastic! There is a pool, and it's open until 10! Tramway is down until 2026, so if you want to drive down to the bottom of the Rail Trail or see the falls by Fisherman's trail or the dam, be warned... the road down is single lane gravel with dual lane traffic. Most people know what they are doing, I certainly wasn't one of them. I went early and avoided traffic confrontations, so plan ahead accordingly. The rail trail also has a trail head near town, so you could hike it or bike down.

Our rooms were lovely, clean and modern. We were pleasantly surprised and love the kind employees we've run into. Abagail and Doreen at the front desk were amazing. Samantha Dempsey is top notch at group sales as she sat with us to come Up with a workable contract for us to bring our hiking group here next June. She is easy to work with and so helpful too. Even the staff in the kitchen have been so nice and kind. Thanks and can't wait to bring our group back here.

Convenient hotel to all the adventure activities in the area. Breakfast buffet was free but don't get too excited very basic, but it's free. You get an amazing view while you are eating. The layout of this hotel is absolutely crazy!! And took a minute to even find our room. First night we froze as we had air conditioning down to low. Second night we were hot because the air conditioning was no longer working! So we cracked open balcony door. Pool area is nice and quiet when we visited in August.

This place was amazing!!…read more The owners, Eric and Natalie, were awesome. They were so friendly and accommodating. Their dinner recommendation was perfect. Wanderlust Creativefoods was spectacular and within walking distance of the Morris Harvey House. The room was spectacular. I stayed in the Loft and had a great time. It was eclectic, quirky, and classy at the same time. The bed was super comfy. The town was awesome and Morris Harvey House was within walking distance of almost everything. I was very impressed by Fayetteville, WV. I highly recommend this place. It was the perfect stay after a full day in New River Gorge National Park. It is very close to the Canyon Rim Visitor Center. I woke up early and drove along the Fayette Station Road to see the sun setting over the bridge. Then went back to Morris Harvey House for an amazing home-cooked breakfast. The breakfast was amazing. Fresh coffee and orange juice with bacon and a pistachio waffle. Yum!! I had a great experience and will definitely be returning.

To top off ambiance they had old like 40's music playing. Really a gem in the heart of Fayetteville! Breakfast was perfectly light and tasty, staving off our appetites for a few hours while we went about our adventures! Its husband and wife owned and operated. If we pass through there again we would totally stay here again. Oh, and it's worth mentioning that their shower pressure will clean rust off of an old Harley! It was amazing and one of the highlights.

Great hotel in the heart of WV! Check in was a snap. The property is huge! There are two pools; one…read moreindoor and one outdoor. Plus a nice outdoor area that overlooks the mountains. The facility is def a bit dated, but our room was clean and well-appointed, and all the common areas were welcoming as well. Overall a great option if you're in the area.

After spending all day on the lake, we checked in at 6:30 PM only to find out they only accept credit cards, unless you're Canadian, then they accept debit. Thankfully, we had an emergency credit card, or we wouldn't have been able to stay in the room we booked. The lady behind the counter, Laura, was extremely unhelpful. She told us, "I don't know what to tell you, it's your cards that are bad." Another staff member mentioned there was a glitch with some of the credit machines, which is why our debit cards wouldn't work. Despite having our card on file, they refused to accept cash and even had an ATM right behind me. When we finally got our keys, we discovered they put us in a king suite, which is a single room with a king bed and a couch, not the one-bedroom we had booked. When I returned to the front desk, I told the young man that was there that I was put into the wrong room. Laura made sure to come out as soon as she saw me from the back. Laura said that the NEW owners took our room for themselves and that the GM told her to still charge us the one bedroom rate, which was $50 more than the room we received. I requested to switch to a two-queen room, which was $110 compared to $190, but Laura insisted she would have to charge my card again. As a line of people started forming behind me, I pulled up the hotel's website to show the rate for the king suite. Laura reluctantly agreed to discount the rate to $161 after taking my phone from me and looking at the days inn web site, but only after I insisted. She then said, "I don't think anything I do will make you happy, why don't I just check you out?" I told her what would make me happy is to be fair and give me the rate for the room I was put in and not try to upcharge me because the owners took my room. She rolled her eyes, "I will just give you the $161 rate." in a rude clipped tone. I said thank you I appreciate that. After asking for a receipt, she initially refused, stating they only give receipts at checkout. When I asked to take a picture of the computer screen with the new rate, she finally provided a room registration with the discounted rate and made sure to circle the new rate in red marker giving it to me with a scowl on her face. This experience was incredibly frustrating, especially since I visit this hotel regularly for lake boating trips and have never had such issues before. Laura was very rude and unprofessional. I strongly advise staying away from this hotel. Wish I could give 0 stars but unfortunately you have to give at least one.

Partly because there were no four seasons in the area (mostly joking) but also because we were in WeSt vIrGiNiA and wanted to get in touch with NaTuRe we decided to go outside of our cocmfort zone and picked some closer to nature options. This was the second. We went with Kaymoor at Adventures on the Gorge. Thjey have the full scale between literal camping and hotel-like, I believe we chose the most hotel-like option. I wanted to do the glamping but there were none available about a month before our trip when I finally got my shit together to book shit. Check in was super easy. We were given a key and a treasure map of how to get to our "cabin" which was easy to drive to. It is a legit cabin in the woods but will all amenities one would expect staying in the a hotel. Great bathroom and shower with a ton of towels, bedroom and separate lounge room that included a mini fridge. TV, wifi, climate control. There was even a cute little porch with chairs in the literal woods. It is so cool. AC worked great. The shower was great. They provided more towels than I'm used to getting at hotels. The bed was SUPER COMFY. I literally don't have enough good things to say about this place. Such a good choice.

We stayed in a beautiful cabin that was extremely clean and spacious with a picnic bench, firepit, and trees for hanging a hammock. We took a phenomenal 5 hour white water rafting trip down the New River with our very knowledgeable and personable guide, Greg! He guided us through huge rapids and even a thunderstorm! They even gave us snacks halfway through! We also zip lined with Adventures on the Gorge, and all of their employees are just so humorous and you can tell they love their jobs. 10/10 experience!!
