I am very satisfied with the work Colbert's completed for me recently. I had a framed and matted board of old presidential polictical buttons that my grandfather had in his den that could use updating. I called to set up an appointment (same day), brought it in, was helped by a worker who was very clear and patient and it was done ahead of the scheduled amount of time. It turned out great-looks very similar to how it once did but very updated, sturdy and clean. I appreciate their craftsmanship and professionalism! read more

Colbert Custom Framing & Art Printing - Exactly what I wanted from my service request! - Photography Stores & Services Near Me - Naperville, Illinois

What a great local business find! Supporting local businesses is important to us, always has been, but now more so than ever. We recently acquired a art for our family room and knew when purchasing it as oil painting on canvas stretched on frames the pieces needed floating frames. A bit of quick online research and a few phone calls, indicated the size of both of these pieces wasn't something most businesses couldn't assist with providing frames because of their large format. Our first call to Colbert Custom Framing, Jakob answered, he confidently told us they could frame our newly acquired art. He didn't disappoint, his expert eye and the framers skill and in a few weeks we had exactly what we dreamed of. Yes, there are many places to have treasures framed, but, please visit Colbert Custom Framing, you will be glad you did. Ask for Jakob. read more

I was in search of a framing shop for some time and could not have been more pleased with the professionalism and service received at Colbert. They framed five pieces for me, each having real sentimental value to me. The team was phenomenal and I will not go anywhere else. read more

Great quality, lots of options, very helpful and have things ready when they say they will.

I highly recommend supporting this local business! Stephanie chose the perfect matting and frames to compliment my daughter's watercolor paintings (elenaprorok.com). She has a great eye for design and I am so pleased with the results. Thank you, Stephanie!! read more

Awesome job hanging various artwork in our home. We couldn't be happier with how the house looks now!

My house is full of stuff framed by the Colbert family. I love how good their work is. Only once out of all the pieces I've had framed have I needed to take something back and they redid it immediately. They take the time to consult with me to make sure that matting, frame and technique all complement the piece and my preferences. Stephanie has an exceptional eye for what works. I could get framing done more cheaply elsewhere, but I haven't been able to find this combination of service and quality. Best to go on a weekday, or early on a Saturday because there can be a wait if they are busy. read more

I trust Colbert Framing with everything I need framed from fine art to family photos. Stephanie was instrumental in helping us create 'Wall of Fame' photos for our nightly family Foosball tournament. She designed double-sided photos for each member of my family. One side wearing a crown and the other side a sad face. She found ribbon to hang them that had foosball-looking circles and matched perfectly! The winner gets to display their pic with the crown while the losers flip their pics to the sad side. Everyone asks where we had them made. Love them! read more

Colbert doesn't just do framing. I'm an artist working in both digital and traditional media. I've gone to Colbert to have Giclee prints of my work done for clients. I have also had high resolution scans of finished paintings done here for archival/printing purposes. The Giclee prints I've had done were top notch. My clients were very satisfied. The staff are all very knowledgeable, and have assisted me in selecting the right material to print on based on my needs. The cost of printing is very reasonable as well. The scans I've had of my paintings are perfect and will allow me to create prints in the future as needed. Each employee I've had the pleasure of working with have been very friendly. If you're an artist in the Naperville area, I highly recommend Colbert for your printing and scanning needs. read more

Having recently moved in to Naperville I was looking for a frame shop to bring a damaged painting since I like to support local businesses. I brought the piece in finally got it back just last week. With the uptick in Covid cases I was surprised to see that the owner was not wearing a mask while her employee was. My wife was with me and she suggested to the owner she should be wearing a mask. She completely ignored her I guess since she was waiting on a customer who was also not wearing a mask. I came in and looked at her and said where is your mask? She ignored me, too. No response, nothing. Being a heart patient and the fact that both my wife and I are seniors I was taken aback by this non response. There is no mask sign on the front door yet I thought Gov. Pritzker has a mask mandate in effect. How selfish can someone be, particularly some one who is in retail dealing with the public? My wife and I have been art collectors for 39 years and we had more paintings we needed framed. I mean you couldn't at least as a courtesy to your customers put one on when you have customers in the store? I guess not. By the way, the piece she did was matted incorrectly and was missing the 2nd wire that was originally on the piece so you could hang it in 2 different directions. I brought it back the next day and they fixed it though the plastic wrap didn't really cover the piece. Needless to say, we will not return. It's a shame because she is 5' from our house. read more

They did a great job re-matting my prints. The owner was friendly and very customer service driven. They even asked me to pull up my car so they could put the prints in my backseat. I highly recommend this business. read more

Just had my first experience with Colbert Custom Framing. Mike gave me fantastic customer service! He worked tirelessly to get me the best pricing on 3 pieces of art. I am so pleased and will most definately return! read more

This is the second time I have had Colbert Custom Framing come to my home to hang art work. Josh arrived on time and was pleasant from start to finish. Today Josh had to help me select locations and positioning for five different pieces, ranging in weight from 75 pounds to 5 pounds. One piece, even though it was an expensive piece, had the hooks off by an 1/8 an inch. Josh measured all the hooks on the backs of the pieces first to ensure correct placement on the wall. His guidance was spot on and all I can do is drink my coffee and look at my art work now on my walls. It's so relaxing. Thank you Josh for a job well done and for honorably representing Colbert Custom Framing. Every experience I have had with this company has been exemplary, from framing artwork to hanging it. You can't go wrong. Old fashioned Naperville customer service at its finest! read more

I had a reproduction painting done and wanted it framed nicely. Nothing gaudy but also nothing light. After researching the reviews on yelp, I decided to drive about 45 minutes to Colbert's to get it framed. First, if you've never had anything framed before, I suggest you get a back and neck message first to get the knots out. Now, think price. What would your upper dollar figure be? Now double it. This is typical. If you've ever bought wood blinds for a couple of windows, you know what I'm talking about. I got there about 10 minutes early before opening but they opened the door and let me in and started working with me. They were very knowledgable and, realizing I wouldn't know how to pick a color for a red barn, offered up some choices and, within minutes, we were done. Blocked and framed, it was about the same price as the original painting. Not too bad. We talked schedule. I was to be out of the area for a week and would be back next week. No problem. It was ready when I returned. And it looked exactly right. All in all, I was very happy with the service, price and time, will I go back again? Most certainly. read more

I've had at least 30 pieces done here, and wouldn't trust anyone else with the valuable prints and sports memorabilia that I have framed. Not only do they use the best materials, but they also, have really good ideas on how to make a piece really pop. Also, everyone there is always very nice and helpful. I recommend them all the time! Stephanie and her staff at Colbert did a wonderful job framing my diploma and art prints for my office. She was instrumental in selecting custom frames, matting and the proper glass to highlight them all. They are the shining pieces that now set my office apart and a striking first impression for those that walk in. I highly recommend Colbert! read more

Stephanie was amazing and took on a project that I thought was impossible. Her team customized a large piece frame, dropped it off and hung it for us. I couldn't have asked for better customer service and professionalism. I will 100% be using them for other pieces. Super excited I found them and can't wait to work with them again. read more

I'm a professional artist. My work is in galleries all over the country, and Colbert does all my framing. I've tried several other framers over the years, but they did not live up to my standards. Colbert has been doing my framing for about three years and has done a beautiful job with every piece. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

With the sudden loss of a friend's child I needed to quickly get something framed for his funeral services that is happening tomorrow. The staff was very understanding and quickly put together a lovely framing job with engraving in one day, actually within a few hours to make sure it was ready for his services tomorrow. They were reasonably priced with my only experience being chain craft stores. I am planning on returning to have my youngest's baby blessing dress framed. read more

"You're going to love it!" That's what they tell me whenever I get something framed at Colbert Custom Framing. That's a hefty promise to make but it's true. I've had posters framed and family photos that look wonderful. I even had a very old photo of my great aunt in an old frame that we framed with the original frame! It was a great idea. I loved the original little frame but it was breaking so when I took my great aunt to CCF, Mr. Colbert came up with the idea to leave her in the original frame and frame the whole piece. He put it on a lovely suede background and I can't describe to you how wonderful it looks. But I can tell you I love it as I do all their work. It's also a wonderful place to visit to get ideas. The staff is attentive, creative, friendly and fair. I love 'em! read more

It just does not get any better than this. Kevin, Sue and Stephanie all helped to fix a broken piece of art we own and to move our entire art collection from Naperville to our new house. Moving safely and hanging a few pieces. Kevin was just fantastic. I have use Colbert to frame also. they are now 40 minutes away, but will always make the trip. read more

Vickie was amazing!!! I frame at least 1 cross stitch project per year. About every 10 years I need to find a new framer. Old one moves away, retires, or dies. I take an project to every custom framer in a 20 mi radius to evaluate them. Vickie and her shop were the best design with the added artistic touch I was looking for. Amazingly they were far from the most expensive. I have my new framer now. read more

Love the expertise and commitment to quality that I got at this store. In Spring 2008, I spent several months in China and picked up an oddly sized but beautiful painting for my dad. It traveled back to the States with me and then sat in a corner for a few years (sorry, dad). Christmas finally got me motivated to get this picture actually framed and I walked into the store with that vaguely specific goal. Stephanie spent plenty of time showing me the different frame options, laying them next to my piece so that I could compare, and didn't try to sell me three layers of elaborate, expensive matting that the piece didn't need (*cough* craft stores, I'm looking at you! *cough, cough*). We found a frame I loved and Stephanie explained the different glass options available. In the end, my gift felt truly personal and the price and timing worked out great. The finished product is gorgeous and is hanging in my dad's office. I will absolutely come back to the Colbert for framing in the future :) read more
