I called for a quote to have several thousand dollars in items framed. I asked about a Prisma frame that I wanted to use on the pieces. First, the woman sounded put out that I just asked for quote and didn't guarantee she would be my choice for framing. That would be based on best possible price for the money I am going to spend. And, second, told me she would have to have the Prisma company give her a quote because they are handmade frames - her answer ... "ummm, I don't..." that was enough. If you are put out by providing the services you are listed to provide : "FRAMING", then maybe you should be in business. You just lost over $5,000 in framing. read more

Agatha did an incredible job restoring and preserving my grandmother's cross-stitches. Over 30+ years, they had gotten damaged from dust and sunlight exposure. She helped us carefully remove them from their frames, advised us on how to clean them, helped us select new frames and mats (she has a wide selection of samples in store) and then remounted and framed them in a timely and meticulous manner. I had an original painting that my brother-in-law painted that I had it framed after his passing. I was able to bring it to Art and Frame in Naperville and they did a great job for a big size painting. She helped me choose and frame and be able to stay within budget. Time for an update. Agatha has moved to a new location, it is in the mall with Jewel on Washington and Ogden. It is smaller and parking is a bit of a hassle, as is backing out because drivers are nuts. That being said, service and workmanship are still outstanding. Wow! What wonderful service. I stopped in to inquire about buying a piece of glass (22' x 28") to repair a framed picture that had broken. The woman who helped me was lovely! She cut the glass on the spot, charged me a very reasonable amount (about $29) and packaged the glass as well as she would have if it cost 10 times the amount! Highly recommend! read more

I initially used Art & Frame in 2007 to frame my degree along with my black and white commencement photo. Prior to placing my order, I had absolutely no idea as to how I wanted the finished product to look. Agatha was so personable and took her time in illustrating several of her artistic visions as to how the finished product could look - it was as if she were designing the piece for herself. My order was ready in about two weeks and I must admit the finished product was even better than I'd expected. I recently received my CPA certificate and had no doubt that Art & Frame would be able to create a piece that would illustrate how much this accomplishment meant to me. Agatha, true to form, illustrated several of her artistic visions. She and I went through several attempts at "trial and error". I ended up taking a chance on a frame Agatha showed me that wasn't in stock but was in a catalog - the design just felt right. Don't waste your time at Michael's or Hobby Lobby. If you have art that is worth framing, you need to come to see Agatha. My wife and I have been coming here for more than a decade to get our fine art framed properly. They have a very extensive inventory of frames, and will do everything from stretched canvas to posters. They also have a nice collection of Chicago posters and prints. We recently found a few decorative tiles that we bought years ago. We took them to Art & Frame for help with mounting them in frames so we could hang them on the wall. The owner spent a lot of time with us and helped us a lot as we tried this frame and then that frame until we found the 'right one'. I usually don't hang art on my wall, so I don't typically need an expensive frame for my non-existent artwork.. But, I just graduated dental school, and I needed to frame my oh-so-hard-earned diploma so that I could hang it in my dad's dental office. I took a picture of my dad's frame and asked the staff to do their best to match his. They lamented that his frame was done 30 years ago, and that his exact frame was not available anymore, but they VERY closely matched the color and size of the frame. It looks AMAZING next to my dad's, and I'm proud to hang it in the office :). It did take a few weeks to be completed, so please be patient because it's worth it! read more
