I'm not sure how I feel. I kinda feel like At Home is a cross between Sears about 2 years before they went out of business, KMart 6 months before they went out of business and JCPenney. Do you want to walk through two hundred thousand square feet of just a bunch of stuff that you probably don't need? Then here's your place. Do you want one entire aisle of bed sheets, all the same generic brand but just in 4 different colors and ones that are not at all soft? Then this is the place. Do you want a place to just sit in the middle of an aisle on the floor for an hour and nobody will notice? Then again you found your place. Do you want some furniture made out of pressed board? Well as I said before, you found your place. If you're looking for a quiet place to maybe read a book for an hour, bring your own book but you found your place. If you want to go shopping and not find anything that you really need, then this is your place. read more

At Home, My wife just loves your store, it's the place she shops when she wants to freshen up/modernize our home decor without spending a fortune. She finds it easy to shop online and pickup at the store. The orders have always been ready for pickup and the employees helpful and friendly even when doing returns. They have an excellent selection of rugs, throw pillows and outdoor furniture cushions. The prices are very affordable and a good value for the money. When she gets tired of something it either gets shared to a relative or passed on to a charity so others can use it. read more

At Home has a LOT of stuff for the home. If you're looking for a pillow, it might take you a while to walk aisle after aisle of pillows organized by color. Need a red pillow? Here's 100 to choose from! They have a section for every room in the house and then some. They even had a pet section filled with food bowls and pet supplies. The seasonal section is where you can find decorations for the holiday. Some of the items are on clearance and some are up to an extra 75% off depending on the department you're in and the color of the ticketed price. Prices here are reasonable and competitive with products found online. We recently purchased a lot of merchandise from At Home in Aurora, IL. As I proceeded to wrap a gift, I removed the price tag from the item and low and behold underneath that price was a lower price tag. I called the store and they said they were in the process, for the past year of raising their prices. Now, if that merchandise was from a year or more ago and they were selling it at a lower cost then they should not be raising their prices on older merchandise. Don't know how much more I will be shopping at their store! BUYER BE WARE especially at these hard economic times for everyone. read more

11/26/2019 Drove from Rosemont to Aurora in search of a Christmas tree. Greeted by two rude sales associates while looking at trees. Ended up with an open box tree. Said they would package it up. Well it was just sitting on a cart in the front of the store. Okay. Get all the way home and they did not include the cord to turn in the tree. Called the store immediately. Only solution was to drive from rosemont to aurora for them to try to find the cord. No thank you. I'll pass on shopping at this store. Over priced and bad customer service. read more

What used to be Garden Ridge is now At Home, but it's the same store (same products, layout Etc.) Unfortunately it's still still suffering from the same problems: lack of staff, confusion in finding things, not to mention some seriously trashed areas. It's a useful place for holiday supplies, and things like home decor and small sideline furnishings. But the store itself is so frustrating to navigate that I just don't feel like looking here even if I need the things that they sell. Overall, I don't feel at home shopping at At Home; would rather try Home Goods for much of the same stuff. read more

I've been coming here for years now and I have to say, I'm a fan! I know a lot of previous reviews mention this store's previous name, Garden Ridge. I'm not sure if it was just a name change or if the management is different as well, but I honestly think this superstore/warehouse has upped it's game since becoming At Home. It's basically a guilty pleasure of mine to spend a good chunk of time wondering around large home decor stores, and At Home is no exception. I can spend hours in here. Within the last month I've found a ton of good finds here - especially seasonal items. Some of my recent purchases... - Adorable gold rustic bowl and scented pine cones to fill it (for my fireplace mantel) - Rustic/gold moose throw pillow - Fall decor for my front porch - High top patio furniture at a hella discount! Paid $75 for a table and two chairs (originally $300) - Canvas art and wall decor (to decorate my bathroom) I agree with some of the other reviewers that it's often a ghost town in here. One cashier and a couple people walking around to help is pretty typical. I'm not complaining though, it makes my browsing more enjoyable! They have everything you could image for your home and often have great sales going on. If nothing else, I highly suggest At Home for your seasonal needs! So many great decorations for inside and outside of your house. Shoutout to the helpful employees! It's like Bed Bath and Beyong warehouse sale. Everything you can imagine for the home is in this store but with 10x the amount of products in all different shapes, size and colors. They are cheaper than Bed Bath and Beyong meaning I suppose you can figure it if worth the money after so many years of having and using an item from this store. I'm a new customer at this store and have yet to see how their products work out for me in the home. So we bought some minor things like spice racks and a few baskets. I would go back there again to get perhaps a new bedding set. They have so much there you can burn calorie walking up and down the isles of this warehouse type of store. Previously called Garden Ridge, this store is my favorite first stop/one stop go-to for home decor. Other reviews say the store is overwhelming but it's very similar to a Home Goods, T.J Maxx or Marshall's...but larger. At Home has an incredible amount of inventory and some of the best holiday items (ornaments, trees, etc.) The disadvantages are some of their items, mainly furniture, are over-priced. I've been here a handful of times, and I don't know what the deal is with this place. It is ALWAYS a ghost town. There's usually only one cashier, and I've never seen more than one, MAYBE two people working out on the floor. The store is also hit or miss, depending on what you're looking for. As others have said, the quality isn't the greatest, so keep that in mind. I have never bought anything substantial where you would definitely want a quality product (furniture, for example). When I do buy things here, they are small and expendable (candles, small goods to donate for gift drives and so forth). As another reviewer observed, I don't know why there's such a huge selection of nurse's scrubs, but it's something you will certainly see and question. There's a ton of the "As Seen On T.V." items displayed near the front registers. There's a lot of odd products, like a Hostess Twinkie and Cupcake maker. For a kid going off to college, you could certainly pick up items to help furnish their dorm without breaking the bank. I guess you could say there's something for everyone here. Today we purchased two large throw pillows for sitting on in front of our fireplace. So obviously, we didn't care to spend a huge amount of money on something that will pick up traces of ash, soot, and the fireplace smell. We found two large black ones for twenty bucks each. We also bought two inexpensive prints for our living room wall. (As DINKS [dual income no kids], our walls are slight extension of the post-college/kiddult theme: The Many Varieties of Beer poster, Charted Cheese Wheel poster, etc... you get the idea). Nothing that would suggest that we are mature 30-somethings. Don't judge; we love our beer and cheese. Overall, Garden Ridge can be a fun store. Be sure to inspect your items completely, as quite a few things can be scuffed, scratched, dented, etc. Also, be prepared to be completely self reliant and independent, as assistance on the floor is pretty much non-existent. read more

I actually love the Garden Ridge back home (in TX), but not this location. It's pretty obvious that locals are not familiar with Garden Ridge stores (no offense). There are no sales flyers for this location, no advertisements whatsoever to help familiarize the area with the type of store or the types of goods available. The lack of customers explains the almost absolute lack of staff. This place is a ghost town. What bothers me most though is the poor customer service. Not the lack of staff necessarily, but the fact that they do nothing to support the sale prices on the marked products. Despite the fact there was clear evidence of an entire row of the exact same product with the exact same tag/price, the checkout person shrugged and said "Well, it didn't ring up that way. You still want it?". There was no offer of calling a manager, even after seeing at least 15 of the exact same item with the same price. Be careful if you shop here. If you aren't paying very close attention to the prices at the register you could end up paying full price for something marked 50-75% off. We won't be wasting anymore of our time here. read more

I've passed by this place probably a million times but wasn't really sure what it was until one day when I decided to go in. I'm not entirely sure if that was a good idea or not. This place is a little assaulting to the senses, if you're easily overwhelmed like I am. It's like a hobby lobby and Tj Maxx had a baby, and about the same size as the two combined. They've got pretty much everything from home decor to patio furniture. I'd be hard pressed NOT to find whatever I needed for my house in this place. They had a really good selection and pricing on organizational stuff like drawer organizers, etc. Ditto on some throw rugs and shower curtains I found. They've got clearance stuff regularly with a red slash through the prices, so I was able to find some good deals. The reason I gave it two stars is this: Some of these stuff is ungodly expensive for what it is. A cheap, dollar store style plastic straw cup that says "hello, beautiful" on it for $14.99. I think not. It's totally overwhelming. There's almost no rhyme or reason to the set up of the aisles or the clearance sections. The aisles feel claustrophobic and it's a bit difficult to really keep track of where you've been in the store because of the layout. The customer service sucks. Try finding any employee. It won't happen. The checkout line is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. One line open for literally a line of 10 customers. Checkers are really slow, then there's a price check needed (of course). During this whole fiasco, the check drops the customers vase and shatters it into a thousand pieces. That's when she finally calls for back up. Back up comes and opens a register. Meanwhile, a manager is berating this young checker for something while he's ringing up a customer. I'm next in line, he rings me up, and then stares at me. Didn't even bother putting anything I had in bags (2 cups, a small rug, 2 shower curtains.) Just literally stares at me. He says "have a nice day?" So I said "ok. I guess you don't bag anything here." He didn't ask if I wanted a bag until everything was already back in my cart. Meanwhile, the checker who broke the customer's vase is still checking out that same person. Basically, the place is ok but it's full of, let's face it, junk. The customer service is awful and the place is poorly put together. I wouldn't return unless I had something specific I was looking for and possibly not even then. It just has too much going on not just for the space but for the employees apparently, too. read more

Only gave one star A.because I had to and B. Because the cashier I had was the ONLY employee who actually had some respect and wasn't rude. The manager Stephanie needs to go back and be trained on her customer service skills. I drove all the way from Addison to Aurora to go to this store. I had a whopping 20% off my entire purchase coupon from retail me not. The cashier was unable to get the coupon to work when scanning it so she asked another cashier next to her who rudely told me "we don't except retail me not coupons here" to which I asked why? She then told me that she had no idea but the only coupons they offered were the ones on their mailing list. Okay fine but how is anyone supposed to know this when you have NOTHING stating this anywhere in their store or on their website???? So the cashier offered to call the manager over for me to speak with, then again the additional cashier says "don't call a manager over for this she is just going to tell her exactly what I just said." So at this point I personally requested she call the manager over to discuss this issue. Needless to say I was not impressed with Stephanies little attitude. She told me that "at home" was in a battle with retail me not to have them removed from their website. Never once apologized for the issue or her beyond disrespectful employee just continued to have an attitude with me and basically telling me there was nothing she could do. In the end she offered me a 10% discount with zero apology or sympathy for the issue. Had I not drove all that way I would have just left the items there. I was pretty bummed out when Expo closed. I'm also fairly bummed about what opened in its place. As mentioned by Erin K, the name implies more garden-ey stuff than they have, though now that it's Spring they probably have more than they did in January. They also have decor items, furniture, prints, mirrors, pillows, rugs, etc, etc. There were some decent, useful items. I saw some planters that were nice and a few kitchen items, maybe some outdoor items and a few framed pieces that were ok. However, a lot of it seemed like low quality junk that was going to just end up clogging up a landfill. The most ridiculous thing I saw was a 3 foot tall monkey with a plunger on its head holding his nose with one hand and holding a roll of toilet paper in the other. Who buys that? Some items were already damaged, others just cheap and chintzy. As S.M. mentions in her review, it was a ghost town. It's a huge open space. I don't think there was any music playing, it was kind of depressing. If I was in the area with nothing to do maybe I might go wander around to see if I could find a decent deal, but it's not worth a special trip over there. read more

Garden Ridge is like a giant Kirklands or Home Goods for half the price. This enormous warehouse is full of house and outdoor decor and furniture. I love going here after every holiday because you can get stuff 50% to 75% off. It's amazing. My mother bought a Christmas tree here for 75% off just two weeks after Christmas. One of the biggest problems with the store is that it might be too big. You could spend an entire day going through every aisle. I would only recommend going if you have hours and hours of free time on your hands or if you are going there with the intent to buy something specific. For example, dog beds. My dogs, being the animals that they are, like to tear the stuffing out of their beds. Buying the expensive pet beds at PetSmart got to be too costly so now my two little monsters get beds from Garden Ridge. They range from ten to twenty bucks. Another issue is that you can never find a Garden Ridge employee. Ive never seen more than three people working there at a time. They do not walk around the warehouse asking people if they need help but rather linger at the front of the store at the cash registers chatting with one another. This is a huge pain in the rear because as I said before, this place is massive! So when I need help, i have to walk from the very far right back corner of the store to the front to grab an employee. Not sure how many managers they have there, but the one I typically see there is probably no older than 25 years old and has no customer service/communication skills at all. He never acknowledges me when I am checking out which is one of my biggest pet peeves. A simple, "Hello" would suffice or even making eye contact with me and smiling, but I dont even get that. Aside from the staff, the decor is great and the prices don't compare. If you like home goods, kirklands, tj maxx, and ross, you will love this store. read more

Lovely place! I don't know how I have never visited before. To be honest, before the name change, I thought it was a grocery store or fresh market. Anyways, fast forward to last month. We moved into our first place and needed to start decorating. After hearing from a coworker about this store's awesomeness, we knew we needed to make a trip to try and find pictures, home décor etc. This place has everything! We bought a few pictures for our kitchen and living room. I came again by myself this time to look for something else for our living room. I fell in love with a large horizontal mirror. This thing is massive and I needed some help bringing it up to the register and then help putting it in my car. I took off a star for trying to find help. This store is huge but it seemed they only had three people working. I finally had to go to the register to find someone to help me. The gentleman that helped me was very nice and assisted me in putting this thing in my car. I see many more trips in our future when we begin decorating other rooms. read more

I wasn't on a particular shopping mission, and I wanted to get out of the office for awhile, and since Garden Ridge is nearby I decided to check it out. The first thing I noticed when I walked in is the big selection of silk flowers. These were positioned next to an aisle of car care, carpet cleaners, and other stain-reducing products. When I looked up and in front of me, there was aisle after aisle after aisle of...nothing. I saw a man working in an aisle, and for a moment I thought they were having a liquidation sale: several empty aisles to my right, and three or four tables of books piled up. By the way, there's a variety of children's books and coloring books. Then I noticed that the empty aisles were being stocked with seasonal merchandise. Gnomes, pinwheels, plant stands, and so on. When it comes to organization, it's a little backwards here. I'd expect seasonal items to be in the back of the store, so the regular merchandise can make the store appear fully stocked. Onto home decor. At first, I was really disappointed. The first few aisles are randomly shelved picture frames, framed art, canvasses, all of which weren't as modern looking as the items I'd find at Homegoods or Gordman's. Cowboy-themed 4x6 frames, cutesy wall hangings with gaudy shoes and zebra stripes, dogs playing poker. I kept going, and the merchandise became more modern with the biggest selection I've seen of giant wall clocks and brass art. There are a lot of adorable side tables, end tables, and I guess "decorative" tables. Prices for the furniture and home decor were all reasonable. The square footage of this building is unnecessary. While they do extend their home decor to items like bathroom and kitchen accessories, and bedding, it gets a little random like the nursing scrubs and buckets of margarita mix. My only purchase was a $6 dish rack. The cashier was working in another aisle, not at all in close vicinity to the register. It's annoying to have to track someone down. I suppose Garden Ridge is a-OK, but I'm still more likely to go to Homegoods or Gordman's. I don't think they sell actual plant life here, but yes Garden Ridge IS a gardening source. Aside from the gnomes and pinwheels, there is lawn decor like flamingos and inflatables, plant hangers and stands, pots, and I think I also saw some hoses. 3 stars since I didn't walk out emptyhanded. read more

So I travel for work quite frequently and years ago (almost 10 years) I was in KY and in TX and came across these stores. We didn't have them at the time in IL so I was curious...I can't remember which state I was in but when I went in the sores in these locations seems to be a lot nicer...so I walked Into the store in Naperville yesterday for the first time I felt icky right when I walked in. The reason for my trip was to look for an specific colour of ornaments for my tree I had been almost everywhere and I was running out of ideas and a friend recommended that I check it out. I went In the Sunday after Thanksgiving and the only thing I could think of when I walked into the store is that they sold out of almost everything on Friday and Saturday because when I went in all I saw were a lot bare shelves (bare shelves everywhere in the store not just in the Christmas area) and cheaper looking decorations (it looked like a store going out of business)? But when you go onto their website they tell you they have the most decorations than anyone blah, blah, blah...and they show these shelves of just super stocked shelves.... It feels like they just have junky/dirty stuff and they are selling it in someone's basement...I stayed for I think less than 5 minutes and ran out of the store and went elsewhere. Oh and customer service....ZERO... Yuck...you can do better anywhere else than here...unless you like creepy stores. read more

I love love love this store.... if they don't have it you don't need it. Unfortunately being a large store it gets kind of messy at times. As a customer I see some, not all, other customers trash the place.. wonder what their houses look like. They let their children jump on things, breaking stuff in the process and literally playing football with anything and everything thing they can pick up... of course the parents are just ignoring them, that's the problem, NO supervision at all. Sad for retailers they have to put up with the BAD along with the good of the customer service business. Keep this in mind when you walk into ANY messy retailer. I first visited this location during an evening in July of 2016. My experience was that of being overwhelmed and underwhelmed at the very same time. For reference, I first visited an At Home store for my very first time this June, in Albuquerque, NM. The building was new or freshly renovated, and the it was well-stocked, clean, well-organized and enormous! My thought, at the time, was "Wouldn't it be great to have one of these places in or near Naperville?" Wish granted. I believe that this location in Naperville was the former Expo building, long gone, probably as a casualty of the great recession. The parking is great at this location. I visited in the evening. The sense of vastness cannot be overstated, as previous reviewers have noted. They should pass out roller skates at the door. During my time there, perhaps a half an hour, I only saw one employee, and that was at the register by the front door. There was no one stocking or cleaning. Not even a manager. This could be somewhat problematic. Many items are piled high. They carry a warning that indicated that the customer should ask for assistance to bring down those items. However, I seriously doubt that any customer would take it at face value, because there is no help to be had. Near the front end of the store is an area which indeed looks like Big Lots. There's candy, shampoo, batteries and a million other things that don't seem to fit into a home décor store. There's a lot of it as well. The labeling is good in this store, but the overall feel might be described as "junky" or "like a garage sale." The floor is in horrible shape. The shelving seems to be dirty and brought in from service at a previous venue. Items were not arranged as neatly as the Albuquerque store. While I did not purchase anything, I made a point of speaking to the single male cashier. I asked him if he knew when the store opened, to which he replied "no" and mentioned that he had only worked there for a couple of weeks. I sensed that turnover was high for employees. So, while this place may last a while, it would seem that staffing needs to improve as well as the overall building environment. read more

Hobby Lobby on steroids - WOW! I was shocked when I walked into "At Home". Hubby and I were looking for a good deal on a Christmas tree in January, and this was definitely the place to go. We bought a 9 ft tree for $175 - at American Sale (where I was told to go), like items were selling for at least $50-100 more (at the least). Overwhelmed isn't strong enough a word for when I walked in here. So many decorations, options, and also larger ticket items such as patio furniture, stools, etc. We didn't walk through the entire store, but what I did see had options galore. If you're looking for home items, this is the place to be! I cannot speak to the quality - I know that I always struggle with that of Hobby Lobby's. I came here to find a new pot for my overgrown plant and some potting soil. You would think that in a gardening store you would find some potting soil!? I almost gave up! They had 3 bags left and they were not placed where you would think they'd be situated! Upon looking all over the store I finally had to go up to the front to ask the guy at the counter where it was because there was not one other person I could find in the whole store! This was a very cool store they had lots of cool things and when I have more time I'd love to come back and thoroughly look through the whole store. BUYER beware ... have your receipt or you own whatever it is you wanted to return. Even if it is broken. Trust me They do not have the fabulous return policy that Kohl's has that is for sure. Also, when you call the store you cannot speak with a live person! You have to send your question or concern to an e-mail address. That e-mail response took about 75 minutes to get back to me. I like that this place is so close to my home, it's almost so big it's intimidating but I like to get little random things here decor wise or holiday stuff. I looked around at rugs, decent amount of inventory but everything was basically all the same to me nothing interesting. Furniture is nothing special either. So I love pillows. Accent pillows, bolsters, body pillows, boy friend pillows, ect. But w/ two little ones who love sticky snacks, I am constantly replacing, redoing or rethinking. Look-unfortunately we can't child proof everything, right? So there's places like Garden Ridge. If you have time and patience, this store can be a lot of fun. They have SO much variety of home decor for indoor and outdoor. They also have a slightly awkward selection of clothing and luggage which I haven't really checked out. There's even some furniture that would probably suit a dorm room or first apartment. My tastes run more towards zgallerie, but I love a bargain and I can fake it till my angels are old enough to know better. read more

I didn't know anything about this store and went here on the advice of a coworker. I must admit I wasn't impressed. I walked around trying to understand why my coworker suggested this store. I'm a minimalist when it comes to décor so I felt very overwhelmed by the size of the store and that the merchandise seemed unorganized. Very poor selection of candles and art, the customer service was a hot mess I am just speaking upon my experience I had a young lady that worked there reach clear across my face to put something on the shelf with out saying excuse me.....I was not too happy about that which from that point I knew I would not be returning to this location at all. read more

Don't bother going here. This was the worse retail experience of my life. For my wife and my 40th Anniversary our daughters bought us a Gift Card at Garden Ridge, We went in and picked out $533 in nice pots for our backyard. When we checked out the store people kept us at the register for 45 minutes trying to figure out how to ring a gift card. The store manager (???) was no help. Finally they said there was nothing they could do. We left the store frustrated, my wife who was in a wheelcchair by the way, was near tears because we had spent 2 hours picking out our purchase and left empty handed. We tried to conract their corporate office in Houston but they don't talk to customers. The only option a customer has is to send an email. PLEASE BE WARNED - Garden Ridge has NO REGARD for their customers. read more
