Took the fused glass pendant class with a group of 9 Junior Girl Scouts. Great place!!!'n

I can't say enough about this place. They hold great art classes for kids and adults. They provide first class framing services! They so lovingly frames my grandma's odd sized art work. They have a great little shop where local artists can show amd sell their pieces. They were great with my Troop of 8 girls who took the glass pendant class.

I can't even say enough good things about Gallery's Choice and do them justice. The product selection is amazing and the pricing is competitive. The classes are amazing and really fun! Rose and Bill (owners) are amazingly friendly, very good artisans, and great teachers. And...this story must be told. My son and I participated in a stained glass lamp class. My son was very particular and careful in creating this lamp 6 years ago. However, before the lamp was finished "life happened" and the project wasn't completed. 5 years later, after they had moved locations, it bothered me that we never completed this nearly done lamp. On a whim I called Bill. He instantly recalled who we were, and when I asked if by chance they had the partially assembled pieced still he said "we sure do"...wow! I went in and worked with Rose to have them finish up the lamp and trusted her to select a perfect base. They did so. For Christmas I had my son with me and told him I had to stop in for a gift I had ordered. Rose and Bill had the lamp under a towel in a workroom. We walked in back to see the "gift" and my son was floored to see it was his lamp! It turned out beautifully. (I added a pic of the event in the photos section) I know this is a long winded story but it exemplifies how amazing Gallery's Choice and their owners are. Thank you Gallery's Choice for being a special part of our family's life and running an amazing business!!'

When I had trouble figuring out her website, the owner worked with me, and when I took a class wanting to do something very specific (make a traditional wired-brim hat that duplicated the look of one from a film), she helped me with that too even though it was slightly different from what the class was about (making an artistic felt hat). This is the only place in the suburbs that I know of which does any kind of millinery classes (felt hats from wool roving), and I'm grateful it's available. The owner's primary focus is the fabric arts (felting; weaving; dyeing) but also offer some bead and jewelry classes; the class I just took was a jewelry-making class in silver, copper, brass and even bronze taught by another artist. We all walked out with a generous handful of pieces we'd made and it was a lot of fun. I feel lucky to have access to such a variety of classes without having to drive in to Chicago, and the Berwyn studio is also fairly convenient. You might be taking a class all by yourself or with some other people; she has huge quantities of supplies, is patient guiding students, and you'll leave with something cool you made yourself. (She also sells tools and some of her / others' art. Some open studio available.) Limited parking in the back; some street parking. Studio might be a bit cold in the winter; consider a sweater or hoodie.

I'm leaving with a newfound respect for pottery, and so absolutely impressed with the management of this studio. Since ClaySpace is a nonprofit, you aren't nickel and dimed for every service, and the people here truly love their craft. Even in simple things like the management of kiln firings, there is such care taken in each step in the process and everyone here, students, instructors and resident artists alike, are just so friendly and helpful as you learn pottery. Fees for courses and supplies are super reasonable, and I am so glad to have found ClaySpace to continue my exploration of pottery.

A woman seated there indicated that it would not be a problem. However, when I stepped away briefly to retrieve a tool, I was approached by a lab aide and instructed to move, as the table was apparently reserved for RAs. There was no visible signage or indication that the table was designated for that purpose. Additionally, to my understanding, RAs have access to a separate workspace, but they'll use of shared student space--especially during a busy open lab-- is somewhat confusing. Then another RA was complaining how students should know better, which is odd since the other RA said I could sit with her. Overall, the situation felt unclear, unwelcoming and rude.
