We luckily got a table without a reservation later in the evening. The place was bustling and a bit loud. It felt very alive. They had a nice number of vegetarian choices for one of our party. The waiter offered me a taste of the wines before choosing. All food was excellent.

I really enjoyed colbert. The servers were attentive. The restaurant itself was quite cute, I liked the decor. I highly recommend the roasted squash. I wasn't expecting it to be served cold but it was so fresh and flavorful. Definitely hit the spot.

Walking through Sloan Square and popped in since it seemed fancy. The food here was very mediocre for how it was priced. Though I did enjoy the complimentary bread and butter. I also ordered a veal dish that is not included in the pictures. The staff however, are lovely and helpful. The menu is mostly in French so it took a bit googling to know what to get.

Colbert is a fairly upscale French bistro with classic French interior and a relax unpretentious atmosphere. I been there for weekend lunch and dinner, the staffs are always attentive and warm. On a nice day, I would recommend you to get a table outside. There are many pleasant buildings around the café and the architecture is just lovely. If you are a person who enjoys architecture and interior design, you will enjoy it very much.. During the weekends, there are many beautiful luxury fast cars park in front of the café, and I have seen many fashion lovers who dress up for lunch here. You mostly wont be disappointed coming here on the weekends if you fancy cars or fashion. I came here with friends for causal dinner a few times, you might see many guys with suit coming in for drinks with their colleagues at the bar for a few drinks and a bite. Nice little bar area. Therefore, if you happen to be here during holidays season, you will see the beautiful decorations around the squares and the stores right in front of the café . The bar drinks are extremely well made, so its a good spot for a few drinks as well. They also have a very good wine selection. The menu is quite basic traditional French, I wouldn't say it's excellent if I'm honest. Beef tartar is a dish that we get often there. Overall, the bar drinks are well made there and they also got a good wine selection. However, my friends and I do enjoy the service, the décor, the ambience and the crowd here. We do keep coming in once a while !

My friend works there as a chef, and I can't say better things about this place!!! Salmon was grilled with the right amount of toast outside, and also grilled octopus was another amazing dish with tomato sauce on top. I am definitely coming back!

Housed in a large, gorgeous corner space with high ceilings large wrap around windows and views looking down the streets around Sloane Square, I thought Colbert was absolutely charming. The interior was classic French bistro and the staff and restaurant were impeccably attired and decorated as such. It was spotlessly clean. Five stars for the staff who were fabulous in both accommodating our walk in party of six despite the restaurant being quite full and for the outstanding service the entire management and service team provided us. The menu, was mainly traditional, but also contained some healthy and innovative menu choices. The lentil and superior salad was quite tasty and the four desserts we shared were all delicious, with the frozen lemon gelato and tarte de titan being the crowd favorites. The sloe gin and tonic during pre dinner cocktails was a favorite with my local gang. Thank you Colbert for a lovely evening with dear old friends.

5 Star for allowing your fur babies to join you... yes it's pets friendly.. I love the atmosphere and the food it's perfection. The bar area is always packed, definitely suggest you make reservation before visiting if you want a table.

This place is part of the Corbin and King stable that includes The Wolsey, Delauney and Brasserie Zedel. I mention this because I am very neutral on these places- great rooms, but unspectacular food. I have tried to get in a couple of times before, but have been put off by the queue, and once my dining companion was put off by the fact that everyone else appeared to be an average age of 90. Anyway, on this occasion, we arrived on a Thursday evening at 9pm, when the clientele were of a broader age range, and were seated at the bar for a drink for less than 15min before we were called to the table. The place itself is beautiful in a French brasserie Corbin and King way, and could conceivably have been here a lifetime rather than a few short years. Staff are friendly, efficient and fun, joking with us and checking that all was well. Clientele tend to be a little more mature, and of the easily elegant, moneyed Chelsea variety. So on to the food. As I mentioned, I am not a fan of the food at related restaurants, but I was recommended the steak tartare (£20) by the waiter. As this is a favourite of mine, I had to go for it. It arrived with the hugest portion of good chips and a salad. And it was really, really good. 2 mains, 2 glasses of wine, water and coffees came to £90. I will be back. And check out the loos, the attention to detail with the old school French decor continues charmingly here as well.

The buttered roll and the lobster bits were the perfect balance of tasty and satisfying. Dinner - Loup de Mer: after so many appetizers, I was looking for a lighter entree. The sea bass was prepared so well, and layered over grains with marinated peach pieces. I loved the balance of sweet and savory, and would definitely order again. Pair with the Sunset white wine. - Steak Frites: Amazing! The fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy. The bearnaise sauce served alongside the steak complemented the dish so well, making each bite better than the last. Paired with a Merlot. Dessert: - Vanilla bean with berry cream birthday dessert: Way to make a girl feel special on her birthday! This dessert was so light and tasty, I loved the final touch Bar Boulud put on my perfect birthday dinner. - Vanilla Mille-Feuille: Puff Pastry filled with vanilla cream and topped with a lace of caramel sauce. YUM! So flaky, but we scooped up those extra pieces with the side of homemade vanilla ice cream, so no complaints here!

Intimate, yet not claustrophobic, Chabrot is the real deal when it comes to authentic French-but-not-in-France bistros. I went with my French father, who hails from Reims, and he too was pleased with our lunch experience. First thing that caught my eye - they have my favourite white wine: Picpoul de Pinet! For a starter, we both had the Soup of the Day, which was Gazpacho. Thick yet light and fresh, it tamed my hunger without leaving me too full for my main course. Papa had the Charcuterie Board, which had a small bowl filled to the brim with foie gras that was divine, & I had the cod avec des petit pois et des lardons. A perfect lunch dish, the filet of fish was light and airy while the lardons gave it a welcome heaviness. We finished with two espressos, which came with complimentary madeleines - yummmmm. Can't wait to come back here!

I don't like to be ripped off, you see. In the end, I was not as taken with Chabrot Marina and Chris. The food was good, but it was by no means exceptional and it didn't leave any lasting impression. The main criticism I have though, is that I found it rather overpriced. Ok, we are talking Knightsbridge here, but the only fish main on the menu £29? To be fair, there were cheaper dishes to choose from, but I really wanted fish. £29 I may pay at a Michelin star place with amazing atmosphere and great reputation, not at something that calls itself bistro (that's the cheapskate in me, sorry) The atmosphere was positively remarked on by most reviews I read about this place. I assume most of the reviewers must have sat downstairs which did look nice upon entering. We were however led upstairs to an empty, drafty room and apart from the checked tablecloth, I didn't feel much of a pleasant French flair I have to say. Now there is one thing worth mentioning about Chabrot Bistro D'Amis. They do a Plat du Jour, I think from 6-7 pm and also for lunch. We got there at 7:30 and sadly missed it as it is very good value for money. The dish of the day, one glass of wine and a coffee for 17.50, this is such a bargain for Knightsbridge! I do have to come back for this. Back to the A La Carte menu. We started with the Broad Bean Salad with Fresh Ewe Cheese (7.50). I didn't know what ewe cheese is (let alone how to pronounce it!), so you might not either if you are not English. Let me enlighten you, an ewe is a female sheep #englishlesson. This was a lovely and clean dish which I rather enjoyed. Then the starter which I shouldn't order but can never resist: Foie Gras Terrine (12.50). The quality of the delicious foie gras spoke for itself and didn't need any flamboyant presentation. The mains were rather decent. As I didn't want to have meat and the fish, as I may have mentioned, was 29 pounds, I went for a pasta. Pasta in a French restaurant is not the dish to order, but I was quite happy with the result. The home made Pasta with Asparagus (12) was perfectly al dente and nicely seasoned. I would have liked a bit more asparagus though. The Grilled Baby Chicken with Lemon and Garlic (17.50) was succulent and well flavoured, simple and really good. But the presentation oh dear. I didn't like the cheese (9.50). I usually love cheese! And I love French cheese! All three cheeses left me absolutely cold, in fact the one on the left I found actively unpleasant. You might enjoy them though, I know that cheese tastes are highly subjective. As you might guess by now, I won't be hurrying back for the a la carte menu. I will try the plat du jour though and will sit downstairs in the nice part the next time. Should this change my opinion you shall be the first to know.

To an American, you would ask, why do things correctly? But it is perhaps the highest compliment, and I learned to appreciate that when I lived in Paris. English people know the value of doing things properly. French staff and clients? Beveled mirrors and touches of engraved glass? Short, non-flowery menu descriptions? Check check check. I think in a number of years when the floor gets more scuffed, and they cram the tables together more, it will feel downright parisien. I just had to get the duck confit, as I always do, and it was very good. You could see the rebellion showing through, however, as it was served on a bed of beans and sauce of pureed green herbs. To finish, the froid-chaud, or as we Americans call it, a hot-fudge sundae. All in all, a thoroughly satisfying meal. Gluten-free notes: Many French dishes are naturally gluten free! The whole thing of "all French sauces are full of flour" is utter rubbish, as I learned while living in Paris for several years. They were able to confirm which dishes were gluten free.

The service was incredible and it's evident that the wait staff here are at the top of their game and enjoying what they do. You'd think they had been open for years rather than just a few months. Clientele seemed to be mostly French, or at least they were able to speak French very well. This I have to say only added to the atmosphere, which is definitely formal enough to be a special occasion place but by no means stiff. We ordered a half bottle of the Gewürztraminer which was the second cheapest on the list, but the quality was very impressive. If that's anything to go by I suspect the rest of the wine list is very good indeed. We ate from the set lunch menu which is extremely reasonably priced and the standard of the food was enough to have us planning a visit in the near future for the full A la Carte experience. Can't wait! Great Service, Great Food, Great Wine. Go here as soon as you can before the secret gets out!
