Goat curry and goa fish curry
    Zeny M.

It was almost 9pm and restaurant closes at 10. We were craving for Indian food. It's next to Vaughan Mills. We looked in the window and it looked old and only a couple seated in one corner. Eventually we decided to try the place. It's quite small and shocked to see their prices are way too high compared to most Indian restaurants. Prices are even higher than Host and nearby fine restaurants. We ordered four dishes. Chicken korma, goa fish curry (served in square dish with 4 pieces of fish and filled with sauce) goat curry and butter chicken. Garlic nan are flaky and crispy which I find it different from other places. We don't mind paying the price for delicious dishes but when the food came in small square bowls filled with sauce and less meat - that ruined my expectations on this restaurant. Will pass this place.

The samosa was great, had plenty of filling and perfectly fried. The Butter Chicken was tasty, with tender chicken. The Goan Curry was a highlight too - the seabass was fresh and soft. Both curries were thick, rich and flavourful. The Chicken Biryani was also yum - both the rice and chicken were well seasoned. The Garlic Naan was well-cooked and went well with the curries. The staff was attentive. Overall, it was a nice dining experience. We ordered basic daal rice and roti. When I looked around after placing the order I realised there wasn't any food on any of the tables around. Even with a basic order we waited over 30 mins with nothing. When we asked the servers we were told there was some issue with the tandoor and they had to restart. Well proactive communication would have been helpful. People can modify their orders if they're informed of the situation. Anyway we got our food after 40 or 45 mins just to be served with slightly raw rice. The daal proportion was so little compared to the rice. We were so exhausted that we didn't want to inform about the rice and wait again. Later when the server specifically asked feedback we shared about the rice. She offered a dessert to make it up. While the gesture was nice the dessert itself wasn't. Overall food quality was disappointing.

We had the appetizer platter, the tandoori platter, the masala dosa, beef rogan josh, and fish madras. You order rice and naan separately, so we ordered one rice and two naan for four people. I can't recommend the appetizer platter and tandoori platter enough!! You get so much for the price and get to try a bit of everything. The appetizer platter came loaded with various fried goodies. I loved the freshly made samosas. The tandoori platter was the highlight of the meal for me as each type of meat was cooked so well, full of their distinct flavors but still moist and tender. It came in a sizzling smoking hot to the table and we devoured it. The two curries were also delicious, but were overshadowed by my love of the tandoori.
