When I called about the paper view UFC, not too sure who answered but she was a lil rude and short which didn't help. So I went anyway to watch the fight. When I showed up, the wait wasn't that long, I was seated pretty quickly. One of the gals sat me outside and I had a tv to myself! The UFC PPV was on and I was pumped. My waitress was quick and got me refills any time my cup got low. Really made up for the horrible phone call. The food is also pretty good too, but really here for the UFC and sports if that's what you're looking for. Definitely coming back here for UFC events! read more

I hope Brian and Ken read this. We have been regulars for the past few months, once a week sometimes two. Have noticed the past few weeks that the servers are changing almost weekly. The really goods ones have left and I seem to get the training ones. It's had to blast this place to hard, but here it goes. The last two times we have been at this restaurant , the service has been very very bad first time the waitress took almost 40 minutes to bring us just water. The second time which was this past Saturday, June 30 the waitress couldn't answer any of our questions even though she's been there a while she had to check with the bartender who apparently was the one who is in charge. Not sure if we'll go back but it is close and convenient. read more

Customer service here was the worst! I placed a to go order while I was on my way to visit my mom in gilbert (an hour away from my house) and they said that I would have to pay for it over the phone. I did pay for it over the phone and half way to their location I had an emergency at home and had to turn around and go back. I contacted cogburns and spoke with a manager Makayla (very rude and sarcastic) and advised her that I had an emergency and would not be able to get there so if she can cancel my order and refund me my money. She then proceeded to tell me she is unable to refund my money because the food was already made. I told her that it was an emergency at home and I could not get there. She refused and then tried to accuse me of going to another Cogburns location and picking up food from them. I told her that is ridiculous and to contact that location while I am on the phone and verify I never went into any other location to pick up food. She still refused to refund me my money. My husband then got on the phone and tried to talk with her and Makayla the manager proceeded to tell my husband to call her after her shift so they can talk more then. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! I will never go to this place again which is sad because there food is not that bad. I never received any food from them and was out a loss of almost $50. read more

Poor service, expensive pricing and mediocre food. It took 40 minutes after I ordered my food tonight for me to start getting annoyed and ask questions... when we ordered there was maybe 1 table ahead of us so it being busy is not a valid excuse. Once we got our bill it was much more than expected. The girl had up sold me on many items that I did not know there'd be an extra charge for. I guess thats how they run their business. For me and my experience this was always something to mention especially if you want a good tip. The server was rude and argued with me when I questioned the up charges. I do not plan on returning. Ok I have been back to the Val Vista/Elliott location several times since my first review. I waited to ensure consistency of service and food before I posted again. I think they got it right now. The service has been fast and the wings have been fresh and delicious. I love spicy wings and the Competition and Equator are among my favorite flavors. Their sauces are unique, delicious, and I believe house made. Happy Hour goes till 7pm which makes me Happy too. I also recommend the Blazing Chips, so so delicious!!! read more

If I could ever give an establishment a zero this would've been the one! So I walk in today to watch the UFC 242 fights and it happens to be "Boneless Saturday" where you can pay a specific amount of boneless wings and get the same amount for $1 more. So, double up you wing order for a buck more sounds great! Well, the seating is somewhat unique where they have an upstairs level to see the TVs below in the first level. It's a nice concept, but that's where my compliments cease! I was taken upstairs and sat in a chair that was uneven and very wobbly. The lady that seats me is also my waitress. I place my drink (pink lemonade) and food order. Well, they are already out of boneless wings and it's not even 1pm yet! How is this possible this early in the day on your promotional Saturday? The waitress takes my order and comes back with my drink shortly after. She tells me they are out of glasses and this is "so embarrassing". We laugh and I tell her I don't mind. I'm good with it. So now I'm watching the fights and drink my lemonade. I see my waitress come upstairs several times without once checking on me. I even see her creep towards me only to be called by another patron and she leaves. The guys I'm sitting next to I notice their waitress comes up at least three times checking on them while I received no attention. That waitress helps another patron and I catch her attention and asks her to please get my waitress. She says ok. Still, no waitress! Some guy then comes up with my wings. They are small. This place is literally called "Cogburns Big Wings"! Sigh...Then I notice I don't have any utensils or napkin. At this point the main event is happening and looks like it can end any moment. Right then I decided I'm not paying for this and I'm not even going to eat it. And, I kid you not, my waitress comes up behind me with the check and taps me on the shoulder and says "no rush". A few minutes later the fight ends in the 3rd. Good fight! I pick up my ticket and leave the food and empty paper cup drink in its place. I find the manager and tell her I'm not paying for this. The good was okay. Our server was great. We sat outside and she kept an eye out for us and I didn't feel like we needed to chase her down for service. The only issue I have is the patio on the side of the building. It's appears as if it never gets washed down. The walls and concrete are dirty. I get that it is the smoking section. We only sit there because my partner likes to smoke cigars. So, he is limited to this section. Overall I enjoy this place to watch sports. read more

I think the interview process is young and cute.. you're hired. 1. They have mac n cheese (which sucked) and for $2 you can add "zing". I asked the server what that was and she said she didn't know and just stared at me waiting to continue my order. Had to ask her to go find out. 2. This bar is the most hit or miss place, which is a shame because I live within a mile, meaning I can walk home drunk. I choose a bar based on four things, the attractiveness/friendliness of the bartender, the price, the distance from my house and the food. Well this bar has fairly attractive woman, but there is one who is just plain mean to be around and the extremely negative personality makes her less attractive, diminishing my willingness to spend money on overpriced alcohol. The price is not the best in the area, but it's not bad either. It's also cheaper to get beer at the store and drink at home. The distance from my house is great, barely a mile away. The food is consistently bad. The wings are usually dry and tasteless and the pizza taste like frozen pizza. As long as you aren't looking to eat and you don't get the rude bartender, the place isn't bad. Get drunk for average cost beers and head home. It also doesn't stand out either and that's the bar at it's best. If you do get the rude bartender, well I've actually turned around and just left. read more

I have occasionally eaten at Cogburns since it was named Peyton's. It was good at one time. However, I ate there on April 15, 2022. I ordered the fish and chips and my wife ordered the boneless chicken wings. IT WAS THE WORST DINNER WE HAVE HAD IN THE LAST 5 YEARS. One of the boneless chicken wings was so hard you could NOT even put a fork in. My fish came out on wilted lecture. The blue cheese dip and coleslaw was over saturated with mayo. The kids and I have been going there for about four years. The food is good. However there are times when the fries come out refrigerator cold. So we are convinced they are double fried. I have nothing to complain about with food, as their wings are great and their beer is ice cold, however their service continues to leave me disappointed. I've been to this location several times, mostly with a buddy or two for a beer and wings to watch a game. However I took my family there with two other families after a kid's sporting event last Saturday around 8pm, thinking the dad's could have a beer, loud place where kids talking wouldn't be a nuisance, and the wives could have a drink and chat. We walked in to the place about half full, with plenty of space to seat 11 additional customers. The hostess told us to wait a minute while she figured out the tables, then returned 10 minutes later to tell us it would be at least a 30 minute wait. I looked and said "what about if we shove those tables over there together?", to which she replied, "that section doesn't have a server." I asked her if we could break up the tables, to which she replied, "we don't have a server who can handle you." If you can't accomodate a party of 11 people on a Saturday night when you are half full, you have bigger issues on your hands. The hostess was obviously flustered and went to grab the manager (who seemed like she couldn't have cared less, just by her body language) but she just shrugged her shoulders and sat leaning against the waitress station. We walked out and went down the road to another sports bar who happily accomodated our party, and was happy to take the $300 or so we spent. C'mon Cogburns, get it together. read more

Since we weren't impressed with service or food during last visit about seven months ag, we were hesitant to try again with my daughter and her husband. I'm glad we gave Cogburn's another try. The food was much better and the service (thank you Ariana) was great! My daughter likes their hot wings, we ordered a cheese pizza to start. It was okay. I ordered the onion rings and a shrimp dish. I really enjoyed both the onion rings and the shrimp dish! Just a note the shrimp dish, is a bit spicy. Ariana was a great waitress, beers were always full, she remained attentive to our table. She had a great sense of humor, even after we ordered multiple items from the menu! An excellent discovery! We have been meaning to try Cogburn's for quite a while now and I'm very glad we did. When they say they have big wings they are not blowing smoke, these things are monsters! and they have an dizzying array of flavours to choose from. Sadly they are only served in groups of 5 and they are not inexpensive but they are are very tasty. The same cannot be said of their Pretzel stick appetizer, which you should avoid. Those were greasy, too chewy and completely devoid of that pretzel defining salt. They were served with a cheese sauce that tasted more of jalapeno vinegar than of cheese. Yuck. Did I say that the wings were delicious? Well they were. The service was also perfection itself. Our server, Melody, knows how to make your visit worth the dollars you're spending. Both of our visits were on a Sunday afternoon, and this location hosts some kind of group that comes and plays poker there. They can be kind of disruptive, but if you can ignore them awesome. Did I mention the wings were terrific? Oh ok. It's the other things that have kept me from rating this location higher, but if you're out for wings and some beer this is your place. read more

My first day in Arizona... Drunken shrimp is fantastic but I wish they threw in a couple more pieces of bread for dipping in the sauce. Bloody Mary is spot on and I'm a Bloody Mary snob. Good selection of beers for those of us that are not IPA fans. Molly is the first person I've met here in Arizona. For a first timer the food was phenomenal, beyond that you have terrible waitresses that don't attend you properly, rudely rush you out of the dining area. Before we were done ordering the young lady brings us our checks, we then proceed to pay, order another beer within the timeframe of charging us she then attempts to tell us to hold on, doesn't mention she's leaving meanwhile we still have her old plates, empty beers and then brings us A completely new waitress. I don't ever write reviews, but I HAD to for this experience. TERRIBLE service... the server was rude to us out the gate. We were there to watch the UFC fights so we were really low maintenance and honestly we are an easy table. We never saw our server. In fact, when we were able to get her attention we asked her for a refill of water, she took the water cup both times, and we didn't see her for over 15 minutes each time. When we saw her again, it was because we stopped her and had to ask her for water AGAIN, because she never brought them. It wasn't that busy in there and all of the tables around us appeared to have great service from their server. I could say more about the terrible service, however I feel I have said enough. The thing that blew my mind (especially during COVID times) is that they would blast music during the final championship fights interview. It seemed that most everybody was there to watch the fights. All of the tables around us were in shock and disappointed as well. Other people were even saying "turn the sound for the fight back on". It was only 9:45... as soon as the champion was done talking everyone was leaving anyways.. bad choice for a restaurant wanting business and playing the fight. This was a HUGE fight for fight fans and during an important interview, you decide to blast the music instead to rush people out... This is why I'd rather pay much more to just watch the fight at home.. My husband and I have a combined total of 20 years of restaurant and management experience... and again, we are LOW maintenance and an "easy tip". Brittni saved this from being a one star review(hope name on receipt right-unicorn tatt). After being told by the hostess they had no seating (she walked away at this point so thinking we should leave?) a table got up and left. Should have been first clue because looking back they had no drinks and silverware was still rolled up. After ten minutes of sitting there and no one acknowledging us, Brittni came by. Normally we would get up and leave but we were running out of time to eat with an infant who was napping. Brittni is the ONLY one I saw working. The lovely hostess with the amazing attitude held up the hostess stand until she went on break with her boyfriend outside. Since they were full she easily could have helped run food or bus as a team effort. The booth behind us was yet another waitress who kept checking to make sure her boyfriend was comfortable and had plenty of beer. Meanwhile Brittni was running food and helping out- all with a smile on her face. Wings were okay but in no way fluffier or bigger than other places. Prices decent but not doing military discounts because your prices are so discounted is a bunch of bull-prices are same as other restaurants. read more
