Great customer service, quick work, and fair prices…read more I needed a repair to my car's control arm done, and I wasn't happy with the prices that were quoted to me in San Francisco. I called a few shops in Mendocino, and West Coast gave me the lowest price quote (much less than I would've paid in the city). Mike was friendly and patient with my questions on the phone. (They required me to put down a small deposit for them to order the part, which seems reasonable.) They got the repair done in less time than they estimated, and the final cost was lower than the estimate they gave me, because they wound up only needing to replace part of the control arm. I appreciated Mike's honesty, and the fact that he didn't waste resources by replacing the piece that was still good. Mike and his crew do good work. I'd definitely come here again.

The gentlemen went in back, came out with some options, one of which was a perfect fit. And he didn't even charge us. A very unique place in downtown Pt Arena, run by very kind people. That has to be one of the coolest little shops I've visited in a long time. I bought a Zen House patch for my jacket so I'll remember it next time I'm in the area. I sold it to a friend in 2006, but then it blessedly came back to me 17 years later after she passed. The bike ran fine, but had lots of Bodega corrosion and needed a complete service. The Keihin flatslides were leaking, and the fork tubes were pitted and leaking. But again, the bike ran fine... THE BAD: I just went through two HORRIFIC experiences with two shops over the past 2 years. (#1 is in Rancho Cordova and starts with a "P", #2 is in Santa Rosa and starts with a "B"). They took $4,500 of my money, and #2 actually had to trailer my bike home because they couldn't fix it, and it wasn't rideable any more. The (just replaced) timing belts were so loose that Dave pulled them off by hand. They epoxied my old carburetors together. They changed fork seals on pitted tubes! These are shops with good reputations, but my experience with them could not have been worse. They are either grossly incompetent, or they just wanted to string me along and take my money. Either way, SO disheartening... And #2 actually didn't believe me that the bike ran well when I brought it in. He repeatedly kept telling me that "most customers don't know what a good-running bike runs like", as he's trailering my bike home! I was parts and service manager at Michael's H-D in Cotati for 7 years, I kinda know when a bike is running well or not. I've ridden bikes since I was a kid. THE GOOD (No, THE GREAT): The Zen House changed everything! OMG. It's like the clouds parted when I walked through the door. Dave and Kelley are wonderful. They found the "unavailable" flatslides and "unavailable" fork tubes that the other shops couldn't find. The entire experience was, as Dave calmly puts it, "Not a problem". AND Dave was the only one to notice that my tires were 13 years old! Dangerous, they gotta go. The other shops didn't care, or notice. THIS is the shop you want to take your motorcycle to. They have "the touch", the experience, the vibe, the extreme competence. They make good stuff happen... My deeply heartfelt Desmo is a lively, thriving beast once again because of the Zen House. Last week I went in for something I felt would be minor. It was the plastic coverings underneath…read morethe car. I had gone elsewhere to get an oil change and I realized too late that they didn't screw the coverings back in properly. So I went here and the first guy said it couldn't be done, I'd have to get new ($300) coverings. The front office gentleman, Christian, told me to hold on. He spoke with another great guy, Chris, about my situation and Chris was able to get my problem resolved quickly and for dirt cheap. They COULD have taken more money (or rather attempted to because honestly I was going to have to look for another shop) but they were honest and fair. Not from the area but was working in Ukiah for a week. Mixed feelings about my experience. Great…read morecustomer service but not detailed workmanship. Dropped off my truck for an air conditioning leak. Had been to two other mechanics near my home that either couldn't find a leak or simply replaced a valve and recharged, only for me to find out that by the next day, the refrigerant leaked out. TC replaced a valve and again, by the end of the next day, the refrigerant had leaked out. Brought it back in on the day I was heading home and they looked again and found leaking gaskets which they replaced at no charge. By the time got home to Nevada, all of the refrigerant had leaked out and I was again without cold AC. Staff was super friendly and had no problem standing by their work. I knew I would be back in Ukiah two weeks later and scheduled to bring my truck in on a Saturday (even though they are closed but someone was supposed to be there). Called a couple days before to confirm and was told that nobody would be there since they weren't sure if I was definitely coming. Well, I'm from NJ where a person's word means something. I had solid plans to be there since my wife and I were vacationing in the area. Unfortunately, like previous shops, they didn't take the time to look at every aspect of the system and when I went to a fourth mechanic, he was able to diagnose a leaking compressor along with a ticking noise coming from the bearings and shaft of the compressor. There was dye around the bottom of the compressor which I assume was put in the system by TC. So again, mixed feelings about the experience. Would definitely go back if I needed a friendly shop in Ukiah but would be concerned with the quality of the work.

He said that there was an open bay around 130pm and if I could get there, he would do it. Well I got there on time, and he was very friendly and pulled my car right in. They gave me the option of a few different rotors, and were very clear about pricing. I'm from the east coast, so finding good mechanics is difficult out here. Many want to charge you out the ass bc they know you don't have many options. They understood I was looking for front brake repair, and that's all. Didn't try to upsell me or try to tell me something else was wrong with the car. He told me "a couple hours" and they called me in less than 90 mins, saying it was done. The brakes feel as if they've been installed property, and I'm very glad I went to Greeott's.
