Why is it such great places are so far from my home?! The staff (owners?) were amazing - felt like they were neighbors I grew up with the way they interacted with me - so welcoming! The coffee was great, the bagel (made there) was delicious. While I only got to go once, and doubt I'll be back in Clinton again soon, I can say I was more than pleased and wish I could return soon. Great ambiance, food and drinks. -1star, however, as I was handed a note about my use of the restroom. I'm male with a micro-penis, so peeing with accuracy has always been a challenge. More, I'm old and diabetic, meaning I have to pee frequently. Woman owned and majority of staff are women, so I understand the stray spray may be cause for their rebuke. Its not like there is "pee everywhere". Maybe a few drops outside the target zone. Suggest accommodation by adding a urinal to the facility. read more

I like this place a lot! It's under new management as of October. Rhonda (the owner) is super friendly and nice, and is clearly very eager to see the coffee shop succeed as an event space as well as a place to hang out. I was visiting Clinton for a couple of days to stay with a friend and being a Seattleite I'm a total snob about my coffee. I looked for a coffee shop on Yelp and this was literally the only option within a few miles that wasn't Dunkin Donuts or McDonald's. What a coffee shop like this offers is a totally different product than fast food coffee, which is typically watery and lacking in many of the complex flavors contained in coffee made by professionals. I had a latte, cappuccino, and drip coffee during my visit. The cappuccino was the best out of the three, as the latte (a mocha) lacked a little flavor, as did the drip coffee. The coffee could stand to be a little stronger, but it's still miles away from fast food coffee. I had visited this place two years ago and was just kind of "meh" about it. It was OK. But something about the experience this time, perhaps it was the hip designs on the chalkboard, the quirky one-liners on the sandwich board outside, or Rhonda's enthusiasm, made this place shine a little bit in my mind. It has the feel of an urban coffee shop in the sleepy little town of Clinton. There will be challenges with regards to the lack of foot traffic and the demographics of the town. People tend to be a little older, and what I described as a strength in that it reminds me of an urban coffee shop may be a weakness in Clinton if it seems so young and hip that older folks decide to turn away from it in favor of the familiarity of fast food coffee. Last, and the reason Coffeelands gets four instead of five stars, is the lack of food. With Subway right across the street, it's tough to justify going to another establishment solely for coffee. I had some ham and cheese croissants that were good (if a little bready), and the cruffin (croissant-muffin hybrid) was tasty as well. However, I think that given the existence of prep space in the back, sandwiches (even if they're just paninis) or some other type of food would be essential to the success of the establishment. I love Coffeelands and I try to go there every weekend for one of their Signature drinks. I'm pretty picky when it comes to coffee, but I have yet to get a drink from here that isn't satisfying and tasty. The prices are fair (they seem to fall somewhere between Dunkin Donuts & Starbucks) and they have a variety of drinks to choose from. Their fair trade (woohoo!) and nonprofit, so you can feel good about shopping and dining here. Coffeelands really offers something wonderful for downtown Clinton. I really wish that they had been there when I was a teenager looking for somewhere to go. read more

My husband and I stumbled upon this great coffee shop during the giant yard sale day in Clinton, and boy were we so happy to walk in! The service was great (they were even fine with me paying after enjoying my chai, which is a first for me, but shows their relaxed stance and atmosphere). The drinks were delicious, and they have pastries and other food items, which I did not try because I just needed a chai (which was HUGE for being under $3!). Side story: they even have a muffin-croissant combo pastry - the first I've ever heard of that fusion and will have to try when I go back! If you have the time, sitting in-house and enjoying their free wi-fi is the way to go at this easy-going establishment. In short, Coffeelands deserves a 10/10 and local community support for providing fair-trade ingredient-conscious coffee. I'll drink to that read more

By far the place to go for coffee and an amazing bagel sandwich! This one is my favorite... Avocado Pistachio! Bagels are made fresh daily and so good you won't want to get them anywhere else. Yes Yelp, I am a fan! I stopped by Coffeelands today for a quick iced latte, but I will have to go back and re-review once I get the whole experience. My "box of toffee" latte was DELICIOUS. I enjoyed their promotion of fair trade coffee, urban café ambiance, and the friendly staff employed there. In Clinton, it is a pleasant alternative compared to the local Dunkin's. I would love to come back sometime, sit down, and really get the full experience. There is so much to take in here, like local artwork and writing. Keep it up, Coffeelands! This is hands down one of the best coffee shops I've ever attended! I'm sort of, well, a "coffee snob," and this place is the best. I'm so happy it's in Clinton! The owner Rhonda has done a great job with the space and she is committed to helping make Clinton the wonderful up-beat booming town so many of us believe it can be. She uses Dean's Beans - a company that not only makes good coffee but is also committed to fair trade. After visiting the Museum of Russian Icons (world-class by the way), my wife and I walked a block and a half down the road and found this coffee shop on High Street. Hmm, the feel when you walk in? Eclectic is the best I can come up with. It's got hundreds (well, close) of paintings on the walls from dozens of local artists. A theme? Who needs a theme? Oh, the ceiling tiles are all painted or drawn on by random people as well (at least it seemed that way). Oh well, we just embraced the artistic chaos and headed to the counter. We order a latte and a cappuccino. While we were waiting, I sat down and picked up a copy of my favorite Dr Seuss book, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish - doing my best to embrace the jumbled madness around me. Okay, that was a fun read. Anyway, the coffees were a bit disappointing. I guess the barista hadn't heard of latte art, and the cappuccino just had a blob of airy steamed foam lopped on top. The nice thing was that despite the poor presentation (and drips down the side of one cup and something sticky under one of the saucers), the coffee actually tasted pretty good. I'm not sure if there's any other coffee shops in Clinton, but if there are, the next time we're in town to check out the Russian icons, we'll probably not return here. read more

We stopped in on a cold winters day and were greeted with the rich scent of coffee beans. My friend and I ordered hot chocolate which was served with freshly whipped cream and some chocolate on top. I've lived in town for 15+ years and have always had to resort to Dunkin Donuts or traveling out of town for coffee/lattes. I was beyond excited to see Coffeelands pop up when I searched for coffee shops in the area. I was pleasantly surprised by its warm, trendy vibe. I was also excited to hear that the owner is interested in bringing in new products and vegan-friendly goods. My soy latte was great and service was quick and friendly. Prices are reasonable and cheaper than Starbucks, etc. This may become my favorite new spot in town to work, hangout, or visit frequently. read more

Awesome little place in the center of Clinton! We love being able to walk here, as it makes for the perfect weekend morning. The coffee is always great , but this morning we ordered one of their speciality bagel sandwiches -- plain bagel toasted with cream cheese, topped with sliced avocado, pistachios, honey, and pepper--AMAZING.
