My other go-to coffee spot when I'm running errands on the north-east side of town or if I'm stopping in to see my friends at Height's physical therapy in which they share the building with. I own Garlic Mike's (yes, you could tell them I sent you) The drive-through is conveniently located just north of the post office and south of the bank and right near the supermarket. They probably know my order by heart. Medium Americano with cream and sugar. Can't go wrong! Their atmosphere has a cool vibe to it and the service - most likely a college student, they do very well.

I'm a big 'ol devotee of the Coffee Trader. Their Chai Latte is the BEST I've ever had! Seriously, nothing else compares. Anyway...since the flagship coffee "house" in Montrose, they've got three other stores...another one in Montrose, Gunnison and Grand Junction...oh and let's not forget the one at the Montrose Regional Airport! I haven't been to the other one here in town, but on our way home from a trip back from Crested Butte we had to hit up the Gunnison store to refuel! Leaded please! ;-) Overall the vibe was def different...modern with a touch of an industrial flair...not the "home" feeling of their original store, but I liked it. Their Chai Latte was a little off...not as flavorful and a little watered-down is the best way to explain it. No matter, I'm still a big 'ol devotee of the Coffee Trader!

Everything our table got was perfection. quick service despite being packed. Will be coming back…read morefor sure

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at High Alpine Brewing…read more We chose this brewery because we thought it was pet friendly, especially since they have a large outdoor upstairs patio. When we arrived, we were initially told dogs weren't allowed. I explained that our dog is extremely well-behaved and simply lays quietly under the table. The hostess said that was fine and seated us at a table right next to the outdoor area. After we sat down, three different employees approached us asking whether our dog was a service animal, even though another staff member had already approved her being there. By that point, we felt singled out and uncomfortable. The final employee was particularly rude and suggested we could tie "it" to a tree if we wanted to eat there. Referring to our dog as "it" and suggesting we leave her tied outside was shocking and unnecessary. Rather than continue feeling unwelcome, we decided to order a pizza to go. We had planned to stay for drinks, appetizers, and dinner, but instead we ate in our car. The prosciutto pizza was decent, but it was much saltier than we expected. At that point, we were just hungry and wanted to leave. What was most disappointing wasn't the dog policy itself--businesses are absolutely entitled to set their own policies. It was the inconsistent communication and the way we were treated after being told it was okay to stay. Instead, the experience left us feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.
