There's a lot of bike shops and there's a lot of coffee shops around, but what about a coffee shop that also does bike repairs and offers alcoholic beverages? Enter Double Shot Cyclery. It was freezing and my boyfriend and I wanted to come down from Crested Butte to explore a little bit of this nearby town. It was refreshing because it definitely didn't feel nearly as touristy as the Crested Butte area. We saw this spot and ended up staying here while we sipped on an Americano and a decaf latte and chatted with the owner, who seemed very friendly. Just sitting there for the 30 mins, we could tell that there were a lot of locals that regularly come in as the owner and the guest all seem to be on a first name basis. Loved the environment/decor and how the shop was laid out. There was a also a dog roaming around in the back. At the time we went (Dec 2021) the bathroom was out but they have a little porta potty outside that's heated.

Stopped in for a coffee on our way through town. I chose this place because I noticed they had their own specialty coffee drinks -- by which I mean they had their own syrup/flavor combinations. I never know which syrups to put in my drinks so I like it when someone else decides for me, lol. This place is also a bike shop! I'm not much of a biker but I had fun looking at the equipment while I waited for my drink. I don't think the AC was on when I visited and it was unfortunately rather hot in the shop. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and polite and warm, and he whipped my drink up fast while also paying proper attention to the customers who came in behind me! I got an iced Dr. Park, which had chocolate and hazelnut flavors. I didn't taste the hazelnut too much but it was a nice balance of bitter/sweet and coffee/chocolate so I was a happy camper. I also liked the size and proportion of the ice cubes. This is a solid spot to grab a drink if coffee is calling your name!

Adorable coffee shop in the gunnison town! We came here after we flew in for a drink while waiting for friends flights to get here. The spicy chai was delicious and I loved all the different variations they had! I got one with chocolate & cinnamon (can't remember the name) but it was delish :)

After a freezing evening camping out at Hartman Rocks, I needed a hot coffee to start my day. Since we got in really late to the campsite, I didn't have anything set up, so went into town and found this place. The bartista was very friendly and gave me suggestions of trails at Hatman Rocks that we're helpful. We talked about our original hometowns of Florida and Jersey, so fun memories in those states. This place caught my attention because we were biking all weekend and I might need repairs or parts. I got the Mechanic that is salted caramel and was gone before getting back to Hartman Rocks. My son enjoyed his hot cocoa. I also got a sausage burrito that was nothing compared to San Antonio tortillas. That was the knock of 1 Star, but this place is great to visit.

    The perfect drip.

They are straight forward, helpful and knowledgeable. I prefer to check in with these guys first for anything that I might need for climbing, skiing or biking. Keep it up, buddy bear!

10 minutes ago New I…read morebrought in my 09 Yeti for service from Lake City, so over an hour drive. After the winter, I tried to add air to my rear shock and all the air came out. My first thought was that my ancient shock pump finally wore out. But both of my 26" wheels also need trueing badly so I figured I would bring it in to be tuned. When I got to the shop the first question from the guy checking me in was, do you really want to spend any money on this bike? I let him know that I didn't have the budget for a new bike this year so I just wanted to keep it on the trails a little longer. I asked if they could test one of their shock pumps on the rear suspension before sending it off for a full-rebuild from Dirt Labs which was quoted as $250 plus shipping. He assured they would look into it before dissembling it. He also said they would true the tires and rebuild the front fork as well. He said it would be ready in about 15 days and they would give me a call. 10 days later they call and say it's ready to pick up. $300 - except they couldn't true the wheels (which rub terribly) because the spokes are corroded, and they couldn't rebuild the front fork. So just got a 15 year old suspension rebuild for $300 on a bike I paid $250 for. Well I definitely wouldn't have rebuilt the rear suspension if I knew I now needed to buy new 26" wheels. Still wasn't too mad. Friend shows up to Lake City, opens the van and they gave him a 2025 Yeti. Roughly a 9k bike. Laughing and being the great guy I am, I called back and said "I think you guys made a mistake. I paid my friend $50 to bring me my bike from Gunnison, and you gave him the wrong bike." The guy on the phone started giving me attitude! He said "oh we need that back right away!" I offered to bring it back 2 days later when I had a flight out of Gunnison - citing the 3 hour round trip drive and the fact that I was working those days. Here's the kicker, finally get my bike back and the rear shock still needed air. Hooked up my shock pump and listened more closely to the air spewing out the house and watched the suspension deflate. Got a new pump, filled it right back up. I guess it's possible they looked at the rear suspension and determined it needed a rebuild. But that doesn't explain not telling me about the wheels or fork, or the joke of mixing up a $250 2009 26" and a $9000 2025 29". Won't be back. Still feeling like I got ripped off. And I still need new wheels to ride my bike.
