Friendly, kind, accomodating & generally fabulous shop and owners. Bill and Susan helped me and made me feel welcomed, even when my kids ran amok in their store. They did what three other shops told me couldn't be done- replacing the crummiest headshock ever manufactured with an aftermarket headshock. I truly could not be more pleased with this shop. We have wanted townies for our girls for over a year now. It was nice they had the bikes available but what we really loved the most was the honest service that Susan gave us. She and her husband and employees were very welcoming. We have been to other local shops in Gunnison and Crested Butte but think Tomichi is the BEST! Too notch service and friendliness. Bill and Susan(owners) were great! We called ahead thinking we wanted to ride Hartman Rocks(which was epic) and they were very helpful. When we got to the shop they tuned up the bikes quickly and away we went (despite my friend having a few special needs). In fact we ran into Bill out on the trail right at a moment of need. He quickly fixed the problem. Now I call that customer service! They stayed open for us so we could enjoy the day. All in all cant say enough great things about the shop. read more

Really great service. Rented hardtail mountain bikes and got to try the wide 3" bikes and they were so much more comfortable. The owners drew us a trail map and everything before we started. Will be back! read more

We stopped in here as a group of five people on vacation wanting to mountain bike at Hartman Rocks. It was incredibly stupid of us not to call and reserve bikes in advance, but I guess we were all vacation-brained. Nonetheless, the owner, Bill, was incredibly helpful and immediately started tuning up bikes and getting them ready for us. In the end, he sent us out on bikes that included his and his wife's personal bikes (thanks, Susan, your single-speed rode like a total dream). He also took the time to give us detailed instructions and recommendations on trails suitable for our group's mixed ability levels, threw in free water bottles as souvenirs for everyone, and was just generally a super nice guy. I love small shops, and this is why. These guys were great, totally went out of their way to get us set up with NICE rentals and made it possible for us to have an amazing day riding at Hartman Rocks. Though we were just getting rentals, everyone in the shop seemed super well-informed and really helpful and willing to share their knowledge. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely go to them first when I buy my next bike! read more

We stopped in to buy a spare tube and get some info on the Hartman Rocks trails, as we were just passing through the area. The young guy who assisted us was cool and friendly and was more than helpful. He helped us customize a loop fit to our level. The shop just had a really good vibe. Two thumbs up. read more

My wife and I wanted to rent bicycles to ride around the Gunnison area for an afternoon. The yelp reviews were good so we decided to stop by Tomichi Cycles a couple of days before our planned ride. We met Susan who was wonderful. She had a townie bike available for my wife and a mountain bike for me. When the day came to ride we were met by another employee who had overheard our conversation the other day and suggested they fit me with a similar townie bike from their inventory. This was exactly what I was thinking about requesting. They fitted both of us, added a water bottle holder to my bike and gave us a lock just in case we needed it and a map and suggested routes. It was more help than we ever expected! We highly recommend them for bike rental services. What a joy to find this great bike shop in Gunnison. read more

This little shop in Gunnison is a true gem and a must stop for anyone in town. Owners Bill and Susan snuck me into their busy schedules to help me the day before the Growler, and I am extremely grateful for their hospitality. Contrary to most shops, which try to rush you and belittle your intelligence (I've been to many across the country and this seems to be the norm), Bill went out of his way to ensure my bike was in top condition for the race. Most condescending, boorish, and altogether unfriendly business owner I have come across in the Gunnison Valley. I would rather drive to Crested Butte, or better go to All Sports Replay in Gunnison to take care of any biking needs. The other people in the shop seemed friendly enough, but once the big man took the helm with customer service I was sorry I had walked in the door. I am a generally happy and positive person and would rarely be motivated to write a negative post unless a business really stood out. Why is this ever a good business plan? read more

One of the WORST bike shop experiences I've ever had. I walked in ready to buy a bike that I knew they had in stock and as soon as I mentioned that I had looked at another bike shop, they struck an attitude. There are much better shops in Gunnison. read more
