Looking for a coffee shop to hang out in while waiting for a friend to finish a race on the pier, I was happy to find this place on Yelp. It deserves the great reviews! Not too loud inside, with a nice ambiance and enough seating for small groups or single people, I had no trouble finding a place to park myself for half an hour. I got something called a Rose Latte, which was sweet and floral, very tasty. I also love that they didn't heat it up too much; it was the perfect temperature to drink. I didn't get any food as I was too early for lunch, but their donuts looked amazing. I would hang out here more often if I were a local! read more

This place is really cool! There is plenty of communal seating, abundant outlets, and the music is pretty on point (and at a 3/10 loudness, which is great for studying). The baristas are super-friendly and don't make you feel like a hobo if you stay there for long. It's an awesome place to study, and it looks great too, though it gets crowded around 11:30AM. Patrons are also very friendly and apt to start up a conversation, which is markedly different from many of the Williamsburg coffeeshops. Prices are reasonable, with speciality coffee drinks ranging from $3.50 (cold brew) to $6.00 (nutella-thing); sandwiches don't really fill you up, and they're on gigantic thick slices of toast, for about $9. Breakfast options include croissants, $7 waffles, and $10 lox sandwich - but again, on 1/2" thick pieces of toast. Unfortunately, the cold brew was very acidic, almost sour, not very good (I was pretty let down by this). I think if you ask for iced coffee, you get cold brew anyways, so there's no escaping this. Limited street parking is generally available, you'll usually pick up a free spot within a few minutes of driving if you're cruisin' 'round, or you can just park outside by a meter. I really love the interior of the place. It's very clean and modern with plenty of seating (although the tables can sometimes be taken up with several study sessions) and there's a decent amount of outlets. This place just opened a few days before I visited but so far it's a very nice addition to the neighborhood. The coffee was great, the service was friendly, and the interior was tasteful, relaxing and minimalistic. I'd recommend some cooler music than the top-40 cranking over the speakers and I'd recommend allowing customers to use wi-fi longer than 30 minutes. It seems that they were still in the process of building their inventory so I'm optimistic about their future offerings. read more

Great addition to the neighborhood. The coffee is delicious and the people who own it/work there are very friendly. I've been a few times since it opened. I loved the latte I ordered the first time, the coffee was so smooth I didn't even need to add sugar. The coffee is great. Inside and outside are roomy. It doesn't feel like most over crowded coffee shops in the city, which is a nice change. Their internet actually works. That is also a plus. My only issue is they never open on time. It's on my way to work. I get here 7:20 and they are still closed. If you say you open at 7, then please open at 7. I've come several times and they were closed. I don't have time to back track and go somewhere else for coffee. Honestly, I really don't want to go somewhere else because this is the best coffee in the area that I have found so far. read more

Happy to have an independent, local coffee shop in the nabe. Interior is spacious, bright and clean. A bit sterile, but makes for a good working environment. Great patio area in the back for warmer days. Drinks are a little pricey but generally good, with one exception. The iced brew coffee is just not good. At all. It's pretty bad, which is surprising. This place is a gem! I am completely in love with their rose latte. Yes, that's right, rose flavor latte! I've gone twice and each time had a great experience. The place is clean and tidy and all the staff I've met were so sweet and cool (Alice your awesome!). The food menu for breakfast is limited to pastries (croissants mostly) and waffles but all is yummy. The same goes for their lunch menu which is limited to 3-5 sandwiches and a yogurt bowl. There coffee is awesome and if your in the neighborhood I completely recommend it. The place does have free wifi so I love to come here to work but please don't be rude and stay there for long hours without buying at least 2 drinks. I'm so happy to have found this place and love that I've found my new work haven. read more

Excellent products, the coffee is great, the pastries are delicious -- the almond croissant is insanely good. The service is consistently good, the young workers there have great manners, they know how to receive customers and are always pleasant. I love this place, and it's always clean. Coffee Rx is definitely the best cafe in Bay Ridge to study/work at.

This place is fantastic. They are REAL BARISTAS who attend frequent training so your cortado tastes amazing and balanced and has depth of flavor every single time. They adjust to your taste if you request it and are so relaxed and warm and friendly, yet efficient. If you can't stand the Starbucks assembly line liquid crack cup of harshness then you will appreciate the smooth fresh taste of Coffee Lab even more than if you just wandered in to get a cup of coffee and hoped for the best. The Nutella Monster hits the spot like nothing else. I'm not a fan personally of cold brew, but my friend really liked it and they have it. Their coffee is stronger than regular coffee because of how the beans are roasted, so for my purposes that's a perk. This is a classy, clean, friendly place and they have pastries and cherry granola from Balthazar. Their macarons are extra fabulous. Not sure why--do they have more filling or something? Whatever the reason they are just extra decadent. It's so nice that they have a patio out back, also. They've only been open a few months and plan to expand and have food, so I hope they will stay open for a long long time. It's a wonderful place to get some work done and enjoy a real, delicious, flavorful cup of coffee. Extraordinary experience for this area. Looking for a trenta blended iced caramel mocha cappuccino with quad espresso, whipped cream, and sea salt? You won't find that here. Simplicity is key at this cafe. The interior has a somewhat industrial feel to it while some Spotify playlist plays in the background. The tables are always clean and you can expect to see the lastest copy of the Times or Wall Street Journal lying around for your pleasure while you enjoy your macchiato. Parking may be a challenge depending on time of day, but metered parking is always available. The staff is extremely friendly, the back-yard deck offers privacy, and the coffee is locally roasted and fresh. What more can you ask for? read more

Came in for an iced coffee and also tried a macaroon. The coffee was very good and macaroons are delicious. I also had a chance to sample the Nutella iced latte. All the other reviews are spot on. Its a really nice coffee shop. Its spacious, clean, and friendly. I especially like that there is the option for outdoor seating. I do believe that its a bit on the pricey side. The coffee is good but I prefer my coffee stronger and its not good enough to warrant such high prices.But you can really tell that the owners put a lot of care into this place. Ok Coffee Rx, first of all, this place has been my go to place to study or to get a strong cup of joe. Their coffee is amazing. Period. The ambience is also nice, quieter than any coffee shops I've been to. But...... The reason I gave this place 3 stars was because their toast sucks!!!! No, I am serious! I ordered their ricotta and berries toast, I couldn't even forced myself to take a second bite. It was MAD HARD! I don't know if it was because I got it on a wheat bread (white might be softer?) but my oh my.... Get their pastries if they have, save your teeth! Or spend your $5 for their latte. read more
