This place is a nice size and isn't too loud or scarily quiet, so I can see how it might make for a nice place to do studying or writing. I wasn't there long enough to do that. The staff was friendly enough. I had a crustless quiche, which was marvelous, since I can't have gluten. However, it was still nearly frozen on the inside and I had to have it reheated. I truly enjoy the food options they have here and love the convenient location. My "go to" here are either of the two veggie crust less quiches they offer, the veggie burrito, or the chicken salad. I deducted 1 star because twice now, I have gone, and ordered a specific veggie quiche, and instead of telling me they were out, they just gave what they had available, and of course, you don't open it until you get to the office. One of my favorite coffee shops in Chico! Moved here almost 2 months ago and it's so convenient this awesome coffee shop is across from my gym! The breakfast sandwiches are delicious! Jalapeño bagel is amazing and the sauce that comes with is super spicy but good. The wild monkey is my favorite post workout drink! I love coffee ranch! All of their drinks are good, they always have an option of their darker roast house blend (which is great and not a puddle of acid like some coffee shops) or usually a medium roast single origin coffee. Their blended drinks are probably my favorite in town. They use cold brew coffee as part of the base so it actually has real coffee in it! It's the little things that count in the coffee shop industry. Everywhere you go, there are coffee shops on every corner. What makes one better than another? Well, I'm writing a review so I'll tell you. Almond milk. Come on, it's 2014 and every coffee place should realize there are alternatives to milk and soy. A'int nobody got time for milk/soy. Almonds are where it's at and this place makes the best almond milk mocha that I've had in Chico. Yes, I've had a lot of almond milk mocha's in Chico. The blended one is a like a liquid slice of heaven. Customer service. Could the people working there be any nicer? I doubt it. I've never used the drive through because I like to stand around awkwardly while my coffee is made so I can't comment on how that's handled. When I'm inside though, everyone is extremely nice and full of smiles. They're very helpful with suggestions about drinks too so if you're like me and don't know the difference between 5 different pronunciations of french coffee types, they'll help you out. Food choices. Yes, the food choices are limited here but I can't subtract a star for that. It's not like they have a sign up saying they're serving something they don't have. You go inside, look at what they have and the stuff they do have is very good. There's even gluten free options for people like me who pretend to tell myself I don't like gluten a couple times a week so I can ride that bandwagon. Atmosphere. Plenty of outdoor seating and the inside is something akin to a Viking setup with large benches. It's very European in the sense that you'll be sitting next to other people in somewhat close proximity. Yeah, I know someone called you fat in 3rd grade and now you require a 50 foot bubble of personal space because of it. Get over it and make friends. Even the customers here tend to be extremely friendly and easy going. Location. The parking lot is tight but, once again, I won't subtract a star because of it. There's this thing called drivers education that you're supposed to complete before you get a license so it shouldn't be too difficult to get your vehicle in/out of the place. Every time I've been there, parking is always available too. Ease of checkout. Yes, I just checked again and it's 2014. That means things can be automated and easy to use. Slide your card and have your receipt texted/emailed to you if you want? Why not. A simple finger press to leave a tip if you want? For sure. Some places are still operating with dinosaur-era methods of paying. If you're one of those places, please try this thing called the internet and make some changes. There you have it. There are plenty of coffee places in Chico and I've been to a lot of them. Some are good, some are not. What keeps me going to Coffee Ranch is the great staff and the all the things I mentioned above. Give them a shot and forever realize that your soy latte from Starbucks fails in comparison. read more

They have great drinks and are dog lovers... which combines two of my favorite things so I couldn't be more happy to give them my business! I went through the drive through today because it was super cold and rainy and I had my dogs with me, but I will definitely be hanging out on the patio with my pups in tow when the weather gets better! They have a little astroturf corner of the patio designated for "dog parking" and when you go through the drive through they offer doggie biscuits for the pups =) The staff were quick and friendly, offer some great food options, and they totally aced my hot double shot chai with almond milk! They also support local non-profit organizations which is great- gotta love a local dog friendly community minded business! read more

I love everything about this place. This is the only coffee place in town that isn't run by hipsters. Nothing against hipsters, but man they can be snobs. The coffee is always good and I'm so glad they have almond milk! My one complaint? It seems as though the drive-thru customers get priority. I don't do drive-thru's because I bring my own vessel. Each time I've gone in there and there are cars in the drive-thru, I end up waiting much longer. The young women behind the counter are super friendly and for me, that goes a long way. read more

But the real test: the coffee. Both their beans and baristas are among the best in town. My new favorite is Seth's custom creation: espresso, cooled with cream prior to adding ice (to prevent bitterness), with just the right amount of white chocolate. Love this place!! I got a bacon breakfast burrito which was DELISH and an iced green tea/ lemonade. The burrito was not huge but very filling and came with a special salsa or you can use some hot sauce they have on the side- I chose chalula but ooohhh do I wish they had Tapatio! The service here was AMAZING! I'm big on service and everyone that was working went above and beyond to make the customers day and they all seemed to be happy to be there. Coffee Ranch is my favorite coffee place in town. My boyfriend and I go here everyday. The baristas are so friendly and I can bring my big dog here to get a treat when I get my coffee, or If I want to sit down with my dog they have dog parking!!
