It's hard at times to find coffee in Provo! I stop by here often on my way to the Provo airport. The customer service is great! They are always nice and kind and try to make my coffee how I want it! I typically order coffee and have my own cup and you get a few cents off for that. They do charge a small amount extra if you use a credit card but they always let you know. The first time I came to Coffee Pod was shortly after Juice n Java closed their Provo location. And I have to say, it makes an apt substitute for what was our quick and dirty neighborhood coffee house. Even better, because CP is considerably larger and so it can't help but be a bit quieter. It has comfortable couches for conversation, and tables for working or studying. The menu is the requisite slate (quit literally) of coffee, tea, and juice in most conceivable combinations​. My favorite is a flavored coffee called Highlander​ Grogg. They make a drink called White Grogg that's terrific iced. They offer a few baked goods that are substantial, if not mind blowing. I also appreciate the gluten free off the shelf offerings. It's certainly better than nothing. They also have a variety of dairy substitutes. Solid recommend. read more

Pod is a fitting word for this place. Very small. Every time i go there are two workers max, which during busy time can suck they get pretty backed up. But if there is no one there the service is quick and awesome. Full disclosure... I really just like being here. They have so many different things to choose from. But I go to chill and just kind of relax, especially because in the morning they dont have tons of people there (because they have a drive thru that most people go through... two different spellings... same meaning). The baked goods and stuff are pretty fairly priced. I wouldn't say they are outstanding it would probably be better to get donuts or pastries from a bakery but for the price these ones arent too bad. THE VERDICT: Provo doesn't have a whole lot of coffee spots and this one is the best. You can get decaf or... caf... for all of the mormon peeps here. Even if you don't like coffee you should go. This place has a decent atmosphere. It's the employees and the drinks that lack. I feel bad saying it but the people who work here are mean! Every time I go it seems like the employees don't want to be there. They won't acknowledge you until they're done doing whatever task they suddenly decided is more important than the next person in line. This makes things awkward cuz you're left standing in line wondering when they're gonna catch your eye or say "I'll be right with you." If you get a smile out of them it's usually feels like a quick "fine, see, here's a smile." Plus side, if you buy something they'll let you stay and read or hang out or whatever. It's a chill place to hang. Just don't let it bother you when the person who takes your drink order is super short with you for no reason. read more

Coffee Pod will never be able to replace Juice'N Java, but.... I still like it. I've mainly gone there to study and for a break from the BYU bubble. The free WiFi is a plus, but seating can be hard to find, particularly on weekend mornings. Sometimes, the sound escalates, making it nearly impossible to get any work done. The outdoor seating is a plus, as are the comfy couches. In terms of food and drink, I have tried the latte, drip coffee (dark), and many of the tea options. I love the large selection of tea that the Coffee Pod offers, and am usually fairly happy with the coffee. Considering that the Word of Wisdom is the Law of the Land in Provo, Coffee Pod isn't a bad option (read: you have no other option). read more

First off: This place has some of the best coffee I have found since I moved back to Salt Lake. I will probably continue to go back. I never leave reviews but this bothered me. I consistently order the 24 oz. Americano which comes out to $3.23 for roughly 5 days a week. I consistently get shorted two pennies by a particular barista so I raise it to him today... "Don't mean to be a stickler, but you short me two pennies every time you ring me out...?" He responds, "I don't give Pennies." I am thinking well then round down to $3.20 or raise the rate to $3.25 so that pennies aren't an issue. Why do you have pennies if you aren't using them? What if I said I am not paying pennies and you can take $3.20? I told him it could be his tip if he prefers and responds that I should remind him next time for my pennies. Once again, I love the coffee. Tastes great. I am somewhat bitter from this outcome and simply poor poor customer service when I am there nearly everyday. I am an accountant so this may bias my opinion but it is more about the principal. read more

My latte was decent, but the honey bran muffin was awful. I've had healthy bran muffins before but I couldn't even finish this one, which was very small to begin with. To make matters worse, yesterday, when I went to order my latte, I asked if their Mexican Latte (with espresso, milk, and spicy hot chocolate) was more sweet or spicy - a valid question. the woman helping me, with pinkish/orange-ish hair, middle-aged, said in a rude tone, "I don't knooooow" as if it were a really stupid question and went on to vaguely describe the latte. I did not appreciate being spoken down to. The man next to her overheard the exchange and provided an answer. There are a bunch of signs around the place that also made me feel unwelcome. "Don't help yourself to cups!" and "20 cent surcharge for all cards," among others. read more

I go into the coffee pod about three times a week. Their caramel macchiato is delicious! I also get iced chai teas and am rarely disappointed. I do always feel like I'm bothering the employees just by being there. It doesn't have the most welcoming feel about it. Two of the ladies that work there are always really friendly though. The muscular dude is very unfriendly. I wouldn't let him work for me. Having to re-login to the wifi is somewhat annoying also because the password changes every so often. Lovely coffee offerings, friendly service that doesn't condescend, and a drive-through...?!? What more could one ask for in a coffee stop? I can't comment on the juices, hot chocolate, chai or even the edibles here. I come here for the coffee. Why? Because it's *really*really* good coffee - every time. Their coffee is worth talking about first. In the wintertime, I love a hot, smooth medium roast with one of their various non-dairy options here: my preference is Almond Milk but I also love Soy. When I'm feeling like a treat needs me, I splurge with a Caramel Macchiato. They make them the way I ask - with just a small amount of Caramel syrup - I want to taste the coffee first. In the Summer, their iced coffee is one of my favorite pleasures - in a 30 oz cup. Another aspect of the service I love at Coffee Pod is that they refill my insulated Starbucks trenta cup for 1/3 of the price that Starbucks charges me, and the coffee is much better at Coffee Pod. Now - the drive-through. Thank heaven for it, but wow, they are in a pickle. The location is terrible, first of all. Getting in and out of this particular area of this shopping center in general is a joke since Chick-Fil-A moved in. Then, maneuvering your vehicle into the drive-through line at Coffee Pod, especially during a busy time, is akin to the likelihood of winning the Utah lottery. But, God love them for having one, nonetheless. I hope to use it someday. I don't care that I have to park at the hospital, walking dangerously close to a life-risking intersection, and come in to order my coffee here. It's worth it. Plus, Coffee Pod people-watching is priceless, so I'm actually beginning to prefer it. read more

With coffee shop options limited, Coffee Pod is a great choice! I've gone for years and love it. Some of the baristas could be more knowledgeable but the drinks always taste good! Some favorites include: Iced acai green tea with raspberry and a lemon (so, so, so, good), create your own juice, mango pod slush, mocha coconut coffee (hot), and coconut milk hot chocolate. Their black coffee (iced or hot) is mediocre but about the best you'll get in the area. There aren't a lot of option food wise but there are plenty of food places nearby. Given the location being in the heart of Mormon Utah I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. It's centrally located and there is a drive up window if you're lazy. Not into the gimmicky flavored this or that so I've only sampled the coffee. Choices are alright. Nothing too outstanding or memorable. No 3rd wave​ credentials here. There are small food items to purchase though I didn't get anything. They have other options like teas, juices and the very American, Italian soda. The staff, well, some were nicer than others. I've had much nicer even in the bigger cities. Service is fast during slower hours, during the rush you'll have to wait in line like everyone else is. I asked a question about the types of coffee beans they had, their flavor profiles and my response was a finger pointing to a small sign listing the roast style and origin country. Hmmmm.... Apparently the coffee tastes like dark and comes from Africa. How informative.... The interior is pretty spacious. There are tables, couches, and seating along the windows. There are a few benches outside as well. There's an area with some boardgames in case you needed some sort of mental stimulation. There are major businesses around so parking isn't an issue. There are fast food options in the area. Final thoughts: If you need a quick fix this is a great place. It's one of few in the area. The coffee isn't anything to write home about. If you're looking for a great cup of coffee this isn't the place for you. A reluctant 2 stars in my book Fair warning: Students think this is a library so seating can be impossible. read more
