It's on this ciabatta type of bread with roasted red peppers, kalamata olives, red onions, lettuce, and roasted eggplant. It's absolutely delicious. I came here as my team passed through during The Relay - it was one of the few places that was in the area that had decent-looking food, and given that I hadn't had a proper meal for more than 12 hours, everything on the menu looked so appetizing. They have a nice selection of coffee drinks (I didn't have any), and sandwiches that range from $5-8, so very reasonably priced. I'm currently on a Whole30 / clean eating kick, so while the sandwiches and breads looked very tempting, I couldn't eat any of them. I asked if they could make them in a lettuce wrap, and the girl working was so kind to oblige. I got the Club 9, which has turkey, provolone, bacon, tomato, roasted red pepper, romaine and honey dijon. I got the turkey, bacon, tomato, roasted red pepper and pickles, wrapped in lettuce, which was delicious. The only downside to this was that it took the girl probably 10-15 minutes to make my wrap. Given that we were in a hurry because we had someone out running that we had to meet up with and give water to, it seemed so interminably slow. It was painstaking to watch her carefully place each piece of lunchmeat, slice each vegetable carefully, and assemble it as if it were a competition for the most perfectly-assembled, perfectly-wrapped thing. Perhaps this slow-assembly was a fluke, so I don't want to deduct too many points for that. I did appreciate she was able to accommodate something that fit into my finicky eating habits, that my lettuce wrap was delicious and healthy, and really inexpensive at $5. They have a pretty wide selection of items: smoothies, coffees, sandwiches, baked goods, so whatever you're in the mood for, or even if you have weird eating habits like myself, you'll probably walk away satisfied (as long as you're not in a rush!) Make sure to allocate enough time if you're going to come here. read more

Stopped here on a Friday afternoon because the restaurant we were going to eat at was closed. What a nice surprise this place turned out to be! I've eaten hundreds of tuna sandwiches in restaurants and have made many at home. I thought my tuna sandwiches were pretty good, but wow, when I took the first bite of Cafe Nine's tuna sandwich I was in heaven! It was juicy and had great flavor, due to all the added veggies. We met up with my dad, my daughter, her husband and their little guy. it has been a couple of years since I have been in Coffee Nine. The guy that greeted us had a great smile and was wanting to serve us. The coffee was good. The poppy seed bread was good, too. My daughter & son in law had sandwiches that looked like it was on a great type of bread (cibata type) and veggies ~ very yummy. We don't always get to see all 4 generations together, so this was a real treat for us to get together finally. After about 10 minutes or so, a young gal came over and said "not to throw you out or anything, but we are closing in a minute or two"... Well, that did it for me. She still had clean up to do and we were booted out half way through the sandwich.... and a 1/4 way through our lattes. I'm sorry, couldn't she have given us another 10 min? We ended packing up our lattes and the sandwiches and walking to a bench down the street ~ Sorry, but I won't be back. It was really bothersome to me. read more

Come for the coffee, stay for the baked goods. I can tell by the flavors that they use top-notch ingredients, however, they have a young, inexperienced staff which seems to change every few months. This sometimes results in burnt espresso and bad attitudes - but, like I said, they are young and still learning. Warm, cozy environment, and my go to for my morning jolt whenever I'm in town. I used to love this coffee shop. I would stop in every few months when I was in the San Lorenzo Valley. I was stunned at the experience I had this past weekend. I asked for them to make me a Club 9 sandwich without bacon. Club 9 is the first sandwich listed on their "made to order" menu hanging behind the register (see the photo I added). The gal behind the counter said it would be $9 for one made to order, that the $5 price listed on the "made to order" menu only applied to their pre-made sandwiches. I pointed out that the menu clearly said, right there, "made to order". She refused to honor the menu prices. WTF??? I was told that this pricing policy was given by their manager Debbie who was not there on Sunday. I can't blame the gal behind the counter, she clearly feared for her job if she made me the sandwich for the posted price. Previously I've enjoyed stopping in at this coffee shop, but if this is how they want to run their business now, I'll take my custom elsewhere. read more

Yea! I am a coffee connoisseur, and their Hawaiian Hazelnut is the best coffee I have ever had. And for some reason, I have gone by the place my whole life, and never came in. At any rate, everything about this place is sublime, from lots of natural light, to a relaxing atmosphere, to really awesome baristas, and the best Chicken Pesto Sandwich west of the Mississippi. I do NOT like coffee shops. 1. They serve coffee and i hate it. 2. They charge a fortune for beans soaked in water. 3. They are filled with pretentious duche nozzles pretending to write the next great american novel or movie. Usually with a goatee and/or knit cap. Having jumped off my soap box, I have to say that this was not your typical Starbuck-like shop. I was in Ben Lomond and needed internet and a place to work. (Not on my novel) So I walked down to Coffee Nine, grabbed a table, ordered a mocha and logged on to their wi-fi. Totally laid back, tons of food, baked or cooked, and a selection of both coffee and non-coffee based drinks at a reasonable price. I didn't notice anything near the prices I've seen when my wife makes me go to other coffee shops. Everyone seemed to be a regular but me, but they still treated my like I was a local. They didn't even mind I was working more than drinking. 2 1/2 hours, 9 typed pages and 3 large mochas later I was done. By the way, mochas have a shot of esspresso. For a guy that doesn't drink coffee, I was so wired I'm pretty sure they thought I was on crack. Anyways, check it out. Next time I'm up I'll be stopping in to get my work finished. Good coffee, friendly service, and the C9 Breakfast Bagel was hot and fresh, just don't expect to work, the 'free wi-fi' doesn't work (tried multiple devices, and sitting at different parts of the shop, and must've in a dead zone for AT&T cell service). Since writing my original review I've been back a number of times. Primarily because I like driving/riding highway 9 and it's the most convenient coffee shop off of the road. However, it seems like my last review might have been a bit of a fluke. The coffee drinks are good (not amazing if you're an espresso snob), the service is great and the food is delicious with many options to choose from. The atmosphere is also very comfortable and it's always temping to just lounge around for a while before jumping back on my motorcycle for the road. read more

My party of 3 tourists (senior citizens) ate a breakfast and a lunch at this restaurant in July 2019. The reason we chose this cafe is .... well, you might find it funny. Both times we wanted to eat at the restaurant across the street, Spanky's, and both times we were unable to get in. During our first visit to Spanky's, it was too crowded with a long line. Our second trip to Spankys ... it was closed. So we walked across the street to Coffee Nine coffeehouse. And it was great! Coffee Nine is a great little shop, we like walking down there on a Sunday morning and sitting on their deck, where they allow dogs. Their prices are about standard with any shop, both chain and local. They have some really good food beyond just the normal morning snacks - bagels, sandwiches, smoothies, etc. Usually only 2 people working, so be prepared to wait a few minutes, especially if you do order something that has to be put together. I've never had a problem with my drinks (usually get the white mocha or a chai latte with a shot of vanilla.) Some days they are better than others, but have never been disappointed. read more

Cute little place. I came because I wanted an Italian soda since it was hot out and something cool and sweet sounded nice. I looked in their hopper and saw the coffee they were pulling wasn't far too dark like I was expecting a place like that to be pulling so I ordered an espresso. The espresso service was fairly lacking and the barista pulled 3-4oz of water through what I'm guessing to be 20-24 grams of coffee. Very little cream, somewhat watery, mildly bitter. Looking past the over-extraction the coffee itself wasn't bad which was a pleasant surprise. read more
