MEOW MEOW i think they are solid if you actually like coffee. their roasts run light. you will not taste bitter dark roast italian-style BAM BAM on your tastebuds that make you physically recoil and shout OI MARIO MAMMA MIA!! i wouldn't order anything above a 6 oz size for that reason. it is a super cute shop, basically in a garage situation. located near capitola hashtag malibu barbie. bathroom is relatively clean. music is at the decibel of hippie (aka too loud for uppity people) but good taste - i walked in to a kali uchis song! hail the queen! also equipment is goated (mahkonig and decent). service is nice. free drip coffee samples! i love samples (i go to costco)! i tried the house blend which was okay. then i tried the honduras lot which was better; could taste the nuttiness and rhubarb. i ended up picking up a funkier one (rwanda red bourbon natural) since i am currently sick of washed beans. anyway cool selection!! i also tried the chai which was a disgrace to south asian culture. it was gentrified TWICE omg. too sweet AND had a white color. real chai is brown. anyway. the flat white was alright - a bit too big and a touch overfoamed. next time i will stick to the single origin drip or maybe an espresso. lets give cloudy meow meow a 4 read more

This place is super cute and a joy to visit. The baristas were all very friendly: everyone, from the person taking orders to the folks preparing coffee, said hi and thank you. The pasties from Manresa bread are killer. I got a chocolate banana bread that was decadent. My son got a very flaky Kouign Amann that he really enjoyed. The coffee is also quite good. A friend of ours told us about Cat and Cloud Coffee. Once we got past the difficulty in finding a parking spot (across the street they threaten to tow if you're going to Cat and Cloud), we were able to get in in order quickly. It took a little time to get our drinks, but they were very good. Our friends Chai latte was "the best she's ever had". Our coffee drinks were delicious. We also ordered a few of the pastries they had left. The croissant was outstanding as well as the chocolate bar. The savory croissant was good but not great. The seating is excellent outdoors and they have some indoors as well. The ambience is nice with a simple design. I like their steel, weathered sign outside. Overall, a great experience. read more

Had a chance to try Cat & Cloud when in Santa Cruz and this is a really cute spot. Not too big but enough seats inside and outside with lots of cute art and a fun vibe. A very quaint coffee shop with lots of seating and friendly service. I was super excited to try this place because of its reviews but I am sad to write that I was disappointed. I tried both their matcha latte with vanilla and the season matcha tonic drink. If you are a big fan of matcha like myself, I would definitely recommend somewhere else. Cat and Cloud on Portola is a no-doubt five star coffee joint and local favorite. But is this high score due to the people or their flavorful brew? On one hand the staff is energetic, friendly, eclectic and fun. (Shout out, Katie!) On the other, the coffee is flavorful, well prepared, and never bitter. The service is always super friendly and welcoming and the ambiance just perfect. There's plenty of fresh air and natural light for you to sip and enjoy your coffee. Take some time to peruse their merch and artwork. It's all super cute! Minus 1 star for the non-dairy milk $1.25 upcharge and the high prices. Drinks: Strawberry Matcha with Oat Milk - really good, great balance of sweetness, slightly green grassy earthiness from the matcha and the strawberry milk added a refreshing sweet tart fruit note Espresso tonic - solid, nice roasted coffee notes with slight acidity and bitter notes, sparkling tonic made for a sweet refreshing pick me up Avocado toast - good, fairly large slice of a rustic country loaf style bread, loaded with creamy smashed avocado, pumpkin seeds which added a nice crunchy texture and micro greens for freshness, dressed with a bit of olive oil and lemon juice Everything Toast - solid - same great bread from Manresa bakery, topped with a cream cheese type smear, cucumbers, micro greens and everything seasoning, flavors were okay on this one prefered the avocado slightly more Service was solid, quick and efficient, order at the counter and pick up at the window when ready. The staff is lovely and always has been. Their menu has expanded as of recently, and their lemonade selection is super refreshing on a warm day. I no longer interact with Oat Milk but would highly recommend a fat-filled breve latte if you tolerate dairy. One of the best spots in town. read more

On my way home to Sac from a weekend on the Santa Cruz coast, I consulted my Yelp fam to lead me to a good small-business, local coffee shop & they did not disappoint! The location is right on the corner and parking is super limited; its clearly a local spot with most of their clientele being pedestrians or bicyclists m, which is wonderful. They have a sort of outdoor sunroom-type space that opens to a bright patio w lots of seating and is dog-friendly. Anywhere that supplies doggie water bowls around the property gets an extra star from me. :) The menu is very limited and simple. They offer coffee and tea, iced or hot, and use local organically sourced chocolate for their mochas. We got an iced oat milk mocha, an iced mocha, and my daughter got an iced vanilla milk. Again, simple menu but execution was great and they take their time. You order inside and pick up at a walk up window on the patio outside, where you can lounge and enjoy the weather, SC scenery, and everyone's super friendly from the service staff to the customers. The concept art is adorable too, and honestly part of why we tried it. Very Santa Cruz ;) They have food that seemed really popular as well as good looking pastries as well. Such a chill coffee shop to hang out or study! I traveled to Santa Cruz to visit Natural Bridges State Beach, but stopped here on my way. I love the interior decorations and the murals on the walls. The barista who rung me up was super friendly and we had a nice conversation. I ordered a hot mocha and a breakfast burrito. Breakfast Burrito: 5/5 This may be the best breakfast burrito I've ever had in my entire life. The tater tots are DELICIOUS. Eggs are YUM. The sauce is PERFECT. It was honestly amazing and 100% worth trying. I plan to buy this every time I come back to Santa Cruz. Mocha: 4/5 Great presentation! Stopped by here on the way to Capitola Beach. I noticed they had matcha so I decided to go for it. The workers there were very nice, making sure that they got everything correct. They also offered to add more sweetness after we tasted it too. The matcha was alright, you can definitely taste the matcha but there wasn't really anything special. Looking for our morning caffeine fix before hitting the road down the coast, we came to cat and cloud coffee. There was quite a morning rush, but the line moved quickly and the service was fast and friendly. My husband got a classic Americano while I opted for my go-to iced vanilla latte with oat milk. They definitely use high-quality beans for their beverages and you can tell. Prices were a little steep, but it is more of a niche coffee spot. All in all, definitely a good cup of coffee and worth a stop if you find yourself in the area. This used to be one of my fave spots when I lived in the area between 2019-2021 because of the delicious coffee and wonderful service. I moved away for a few years and came back super excited to have some cat & cloud but it is not the same as it used to be. :( disappointing that the baristas were not friendly and the quality of the drinks and food has plummeted.
