Uniqueness: A good cafe that's conveniently located in a food hall. Wait Time: [x][x][x][x][ ] Drink Quality: [x][x][x][x][ ] Service: [x][x][x][x][x] Setting: [x][x][x][x][x] Cost: [x][x][x][x][ ] Recommendation? At the moment, any espresso drink in general works but their seasonal drinks do look interesting. A quick stop here while I was in SC and checking this food hall out. Cat & Cloud is a small cafe with friendly staff that makes great coffee (then again it's the only one in this little food hall) so you'll get your great coffee fix here and enjoy your meal as well. They have a few pastries but I didn't get a chance to try them so if I'm ever back in the area, I'll give them a try and also curious to try their holiday drinks too.

    Chai Overnight Oats

Came back here again because I wanted to try the Chai overnight oats. They were just okay, not a lot of chai flavor and they weren't really sweet. The main flavor came from the cashew and date toppings. We also ordered their breakfast burrito which wasn't all that good either. Also something to note, from what I can tell their items like the breakfast burritos are premade which I wasn't really a huge fan of. I can't speak for their specialty coffees but I don't think I would come back here for the food. There is also a little bit of a limited seating for indoors, but a good amount of seating outside. Staff were really nice though and clearly like what they do.

The vibes, the coffee, the food, the service! All 10/10 and worth the hype. I love how attentive and knowledgeable the baristas are and how they'll come and check up on me when I'm enjoying my coffee and breakfast burrito. The macchiato was prepared really well, and I love a good latte art! I'm also typically pretty skeptical about ordering food from a coffee shop, but their breakfast burrito is so satisfying. Crispy bacon and potatoes with the perfect ratio of eggs with their salsa verde. Yummy! If you brew coffee at home, their beans are super fresh. I saw some beans just roasted a few days ago there too. I'll definitely be back soon!

Per recommendation from the barista, I got an ice vanilla latte. They also recommended an ice coffee too (but I'll get it next time) For the ice vanilla latte, the coffee was not too strong, good balance not too sweet. This location is inside Abbott Square Market which can be busy.

Loveee cat and cloud! Visiting Santa Cruz and always stop for a hot or iced chai depending on the weather. My boyfriend and I tried this on our first trip together a few years back and have loved it ever since. Finally getting around the reviewing it and happy to say it's consistently good. The service is super friendly and they have a nice assortment of pastries. Prices are normal for coffee in the area and it's inside of a food court kind of building with other restaurants in it. Super chill in the morning with barely anyone inside or outside as far as seating goes and parking can be a little scarce depending on the day of the week but there's free parking and paid parking options.

The creamy beige was something that I've never had before. Extra creamy but super light at the same time and highly recommend. it's not a full blown coffee shop since this one is in a food court style venue with other restaurants surrounding it making it a good place to have food as well if you want options. We were offered great service by raven. You can tell the staff is passionate and proud of their jobs and it's proven by the great tase of the coffee. Thanks guys, will be back!

Cat & Cloud is worth the hype! I made a stop here on a Thursday afternoon, when it wasn't busy at all. This location was inside a little food hall, which had both indoor and outdoor seating. They had a few craft beverages that sounded incredible, and I went with the Blackberry Sage Espresso Tonic. This was so well-made - both strong and refreshing at the same time! I don't always love sparkling coffee drinks, but they really pulled it off with this one. The girls at the counter were super friendly, and my partner liked his Dirty Chai Latte. Would return to try more!

Love this place. I come here to Abbot Square to work on homework usually. They have an array of foods, and great coffee here at Cat & Cloud. The staff is always sweet and patient. Their pastries are delicious and *I think* locally sourced. It can be a little busy and noisy inside for seating but still plenty of space and outside has heaters! Been a handful of times, spread out from each other and haven't had a bad experience. Got a banana chocolate bread last time and it was so good!

Cat & Cloud is a cute coffee spot. Very modern and a feel good spot to just grab coffee and hang out. The workers were very sweet and super helpful. The reason for the 4 stars is I had an iced chai latte and I wasn't a fan of it. It was super sweet and didn't have much of a chai flavor. The cashier did mention it was on the sweet side but I overlooked how sweet she really meant. However, my cousin had a coffee that was very balanced on cream and sweetness and my boyfriend ordered a cold brew with cream and sugar that was also really good. Overall a cute hangout spot! I will definitely give them another shot if I'm back in town.

Cat & Cloud - The Beating Heart of a Santa Cruz Morning I stumbled upon Cat & Cloud on an early morning walk from a nearby house my friends just bought as a rental. I wasn't looking for anything fancy--just a good cup of coffee and maybe a quiet moment. I had no idea I was walking into one of the most beloved places in the neighborhood. Cat & Cloud sits in a Santa Cruz neighborhood that was once home to the Wrigley Spearmint Gum factory, built in 1954. Back then, the hum of industry filled the air--Wrigley was the largest private employer in the area, producing millions of sticks of gum a day until the factory closed in the late '90s. Today, that same site has been reinvented as the Old Wrigley Building, a vibrant creative and entrepreneurial hub that reflects the spirit of reinvention Santa Cruz is so good at. And just down the road, Cat & Cloud carries that same energy--thoughtful, unpretentious, and completely local. The café opened at 6:30am on a Saturday, and by 7am it was filled with neighbors greeting each other, grabbing coffee, sharing breakfast, catching up before the day begins. It doesn't feel like a scene--it feels like a ritual. A rhythm. The kind of place where you know you'll run into someone you care about, or maybe meet someone new. The neighborhood itself is lovely--filled with small, charming cottages perched on cliffs overlooking the Pacific. Native plants line the streets. Coming from Los Angeles, I stood out in my quilted jacket, heavy pants, and chattering teeth (it was below 70, after all). But the locals? Shorts and hoodies, dogs in tow. I felt like an outsider, but never unwelcome. Cat & Cloud isn't just a coffee shop. It's a community anchor. The baristas are warm and dialed-in, the coffee is excellent, and the space is designed for conversation, for pause, for being present. There's something beautiful about starting the day where everyone else seems to want to be, too. To me, that's the sign of a great neighborhood spot--not just good coffee, but good company. A place that remembers its past but continues to build something new, something grounded. Cat & Cloud is exactly that kind of place.

They now change $0.25 for to-go cups, which I guess is a Santa Cruz ordinance. Can you imagine them doing that elsewhere? Oooooh my city would make a killing off that! Husband got his usual cold brew ($6.25 inc cup fee). No complaints except they don't fill it to the brim even if you don't want room for milk/cream. I got a tiramisu latte ($8.25 inc cup fee). I could see why they call it a tiramisu latte because of the mascarpone foam and the lady finger. It was decent, but I think I would have enjoyed a standard vanilla latte more. I also personally didn't like how the cold foam dripped down the side of the cup because it got all over my hands! As a former barista, I always made sure my drinks were clean before handing them out.

I was looking for something heavier than a pastry and found out they had breakfast sandwiches and their own bagels! Score!! To my surprise, they also had specialty drinks so I had to get the Blondie latte with a plant-based milk. I asked the lady if it was sweet and she said it came with a tablespoon of brown sugar. But they could switch it and make it a teaspoon instead. Perfect! As I got my latte it was amazing!! The espresso used in the latte was actually a mild roast coffee so I really liked the flavor of it roast and it was Organic!! Win-win!! Since I'm trying to avoid dairy at the moment, I asked if I could get the lox bagel sandwich without cream cheese and replace it with avocado. The lady at the register asked another barista behind her and she said it was fine! Perfect!! You also get to pick out what type of bagel you want, so I wanted to try something different and got the sun-dried tomato and basil or something like that! The sweet flavors of the herbs in the bagel and then the juiciness of the tomato baked into the bread once simply wonderfully with my breakfast sandwich!! There's a cute little waiting area inside with at least 10 tables or seats along the breakfast bar counter and a couple of tables. There's also a very large outdoor seating area, but I was cold so I wanted to sit inside to warm up my body since I was going to go to yoga on the beach. I had only planned on eating half the bagel sandwich but honestly, it was so good when it came out. I sat there for a good 20 minutes until I ate the whole thing!! Lol so funny!! I was so stuffed I had to walk an extra mile before I could start my yoga on the beach! As I sat enjoying my breakfast sandwich, I got to overhear the two barista's talk about music!! One of the baristas allowed her device to search new genres of music while the other barista specifically looked up different genres of music she liked and then would tell her device to find music of that era. So interesting to hear their discussion!! I honestly loved everything about this quaint little coffee shop, and I will definitely be back again and again!!
