The Works Burrito
Misa K.

Had an amazing breakfast burrito (the Works Burrito) at Firefly Coffee House! The burrito was huge and came out piping hot with melted cheese, and the chorizo was super flavorful. I couldn't finish all of it so I saved some for later. Don't forget to try their homemade hot sauce - it was great and had a nice kick. The Americano was good as well. It's a small place with only a few seats inside but plenty more seats outside. Service was friendly & efficient. My only complaint is that there are no restrooms.

Order at the counter, service was friendly. Nice outdoor seating area. Great coffee and The Works Breakfast Burrito was delicious and big enough to split.

Stopped by early in the morning for breakfast while our sun was in the Ironman. It had great reviews so we decided to give it a try and Firefly did not disappoint. The place was hopping all morning with a walk up window and picnic tables outside to enjoy breakfast at. The breakfast burrito and bagel were both incredibly delicious and perfect beverages to top it off. The staff were super friendly and energetic - they were exceptional at processing so many orders so quickly. See you next Ironman Firefly!!

They use Black Oak Coffee beans; the espresso is really good. But it only comes in a to-go cup. 5/5: Espresso: Great rich deep spro 4/5:: Machiatto: Not as good. it's in a paper cup. 3/5: The kitchen sink sando doesn't work. The fillings squirt out from under the bagel, and it's not that great.

This was my first time ever at this particular coffee shop, and I was so happy I found it when I did!! I was looking for something heavier than a pastry and found out they had breakfast sandwiches and their own bagels! Score!! To my surprise, they also had specialty drinks so I had to get the Blondie latte with a plant-based milk. I asked the lady if it was sweet and she said it came with a tablespoon of brown sugar. But they could switch it and make it a teaspoon instead. Perfect! As I got my latte it was amazing!! The espresso used in the latte was actually a mild roast coffee so I really liked the flavor of it roast and it was Organic!! Win-win!! Since I'm trying to avoid dairy at the moment, I asked if I could get the lox bagel sandwich without cream cheese and replace it with avocado. The lady at the register asked another barista behind her and she said it was fine! Perfect!! You also get to pick out what type of bagel you want, so I wanted to try something different and got the sun-dried tomato and basil or something like that! The sweet flavors of the herbs in the bagel and then the juiciness of the tomato baked into the bread once simply wonderfully with my breakfast sandwich!! There's a cute little waiting area inside with at least 10 tables or seats along the breakfast bar counter and a couple of tables. There's also a very large outdoor seating area, but I was cold so I wanted to sit inside to warm up my body since I was going to go to yoga on the beach. I had only planned on eating half the bagel sandwich but honestly, it was so good when it came out. I sat there for a good 20 minutes until I ate the whole thing!! Lol so funny!! I was so stuffed I had to walk an extra mile before I could start my yoga on the beach! As I sat enjoying my breakfast sandwich, I got to overhear the two barista's talk about music!! One of the baristas allowed her device to search new genres of music while the other barista specifically looked up different genres of music she liked and then would tell her device to find music of that era. So interesting to hear their discussion!! I honestly loved everything about this quaint little coffee shop, and I will definitely be back again and again!!

Such a good find for a little neighborhood coffee spot. Service here is always amazing, but this time I wasn't able to stop in and was so happy to see they deliver to the area. Everything showed up warm and delicious. The bagels... seriously the best. Always. Soft, fresh, and somehow hit every time. Breakfast burritos are also a go-to. The chorizo is super flavorful and the vegan soyrizo option is also pretty good. My order came with "have a turtle-ific day" written on the cup, and when I took the sleeve off there was a cute little turtle drawing underneath. Totally unnecessary, totally appreciated. Made my whole day. This is one of those places I'll always come back to or order from anytime I'm nearby.

Nothing to write home about. Kitchen sink bagel sandwich on onion and cheddar bagel- bagel could have been toasted and they could have added salt and pepper.... Kinda not really a kitchen sink menu items if you think about all the things they have on the menu which is in their kitchen but not on the bagel. Mocha and Chai- eh, not bad but it won't bring me back. $34 experience I'd expect more than an Eh.... Exit is clearly labeled but no entry is clear. Service is fine- do not understand the need for a tip when you are responsible for ordering and picking up your order.

I can't really give a review of the establishment itself but, we were able to order breakfast and have it delivered directly to the lobby of our hotel which was very cool. We were too tired to get up and look for food so a place that offered delivery was great. I had the Kitchen Sink breakfast sandwich which had bacon, avocado, tomato, jalapeño, chives & cream cheese. It was good and very filling! I also had a cafe au lait which I don't see very often on menus. Also very good. Aside from bagels and sandwiches they have a few breakfast burritos and a bowl. Next time we're in SC I will definitely go to the shop and try something new!

Pretty solid bagel sandwiches. The bagels themselves had a good chew and flavor. Cream cheese melted from being toasted so made things pretty messy. Generous portion of egg and lox. we came on a rainy day and the line was still pretty long. the staff was working hard to get through the long line and push out orders quickly. not a lot of indoor seating for a rainy day...

Super cute coffee spot, and the food was amazing! Plenty of vegetarian options and so many different types of bagels to choose from. No Bathroom

10000/10 would recommend and would go again. Ladies in the front were fast efficient very nice! Guys in the back were working and vibing! Loved the atmosphere! Their jalapeño cheddar bagel by itself is magnificent. Probably my favorite jalapeño cheddar bagel I've had. You know it's fresh and they add a lot of jalapeños on top!! Breakfast bagel amazing. A great amount of egg, big slices of green onions, just a slather of cream cheese. I do wanna say tho, the top of my sandwich was good needed salt but then I hit the bottom of my sandwich and it was salty. Overall, still good! The crème brûlée coffee, probably also another one of my favorites. Not too sweet. The extra shot of espresso was definitely what I needed. It balanced out the sweetness to the point you couldn't taste the extra shot. So loved!!

The food was absolutely amazing, I got the kitchen sink bagel sandwich with the jalapeño cheddar bagel and i can't wait to go back for another. The line can be long but they absolutely work fast and the service is amazing. The ambiance is great, not a ton of seating as it's picnic tables but we didn't mind eating in the car since we were visiting from out of town.

The food here is always fun, fresh, and consistently good. We shared the carnitas omelette with sourdough toast, and it was excellent--lots of flavor and a perfect start to the morning. We also had a couple of Irish coffees, and the homemade whipped cream definitely put them over the top. Another huge plus is the dog-friendly patio. Our little guy Milo was very happy to join us for breakfast--and maybe even happier when some bacon came his way. Great food, friendly vibe, efficient service, and a patio where we can bring the pup. We'll definitely keep coming back!

Yelp Elite Review: Where the Coffee Is Bold & the Stories Are Even Better…read more Some restaurants serve breakfast. This place serves breakfast with a side of Santa Cruz history. This spot has been around for years, and when my boys were younger, we would come here after a day at the beach. It has gone through a few owners over the years, but the improvements they've made are awesome. The place still has that classic beach-town chill--lots of laughter, good food, and people enjoying life. Parking? Let's just say Santa Cruz and parking have never exactly been best friends. But once you get inside, you have the choice of indoor or outdoor seating, and it's worth the effort. One of my favorite things about this place is the history. For years, a group of local fishermen have been coming here. Two of them are still regulars, sitting around telling fish stories. And if you know fishermen, you know those stories have probably gotten a little bigger every year. My wife and I split the all-meat omelette, and it was delicious. They also do a fantastic job with the hash browns--crispy, hearty, and exactly what you want with breakfast. The coffee deserves its own paragraph. Bold, flavorful, and strong enough to make you believe you can conquer the day. Our server was wonderful. She has worked here since graduating from high school, and you could tell she genuinely cared about taking care of people. Friendly, positive, helpful, and the kind of service that makes you want to come back. There's a wonderful selection of food, but honestly, part of the experience is simply being there. You can almost feel the decades of stories in the walls--families, fishermen, beach days, laughter, and countless cups of coffee. This isn't just a place to grab breakfast. It's a place where Santa Cruz history is still being served--one omelette, one cup of coffee, and one slightly exaggerated fish story at a time. Our niece had also heard really good things about it from other students, so we figured it was worth checking out and I'm so glad we did! My partner and I both got the B.A.E. sandwich, while our niece got the Spam sandwich. For drinks, I ordered Alex's iced coffee, my partner got the jasmine lemonade, and our niece got an iced matcha latte. We also shared an order of the Dirty Tots. Everything we ordered was so good, but what really stood out to me about the B.A.E. sandwich was how fluffy the eggs were. I feel like that alone really elevated it and made it different from a typical breakfast sandwich. I also loved the bread it was soft, fluffy, flavorful, and worked perfectly with everything inside. Another thing that really made the sandwich for me was the sauce. I'm not exactly sure what was in it, but it mixed so perfectly with the eggs, bacon, avocado, and bread. Without it, I feel like the sandwich could have been a little more basic, but that sauce added so much flavor and tied everything together. It honestly made the whole sandwich feel complete. The B.A.E. was easily a 10/10 for me. As a coffee lover, I was also really happy with Alex's iced coffee. It had the perfect balance not too sweet, but not too bitter either. The Dirty Tots were another favorite. The tater tots were really crispy, and we loved the curry flavor incorporated throughout. The fried egg on top was also such a cute addition. It was a little messy, but nothing we couldn't handle and definitely worth it! The spot itself was very lively and popular, especially with students, so it was pretty busy when we went. That being said, for the quality of the food, we really didn't mind waiting. We all left really happy with what we ordered, and this is definitely going to be one of those places we come back to whenever we're visiting our niece. Such a great breakfast spot and an easy recommendation!

The guy asked me to sit down at a table with him to explain portion sizes and the guy had slurred speech and an extremely strong smear of liquor radiating from him. I asked if he is on the clock and he said I will be in a few minutes. Doesn't seem like a good idea to be wasted at work. This guy has created some very good tasting foods (hence why I like to return) and the prices are reasonable. The owner is a super sweet gal and you can tell she's pouring her heart and soul into this spot. It has a perfect view of the harbor while you enjoy some good eats. Even though this guy was wasted today, it won't detour me from returning for the 5 star food flavors! He later came to my table as I am indulging in a burger that explodes with flavor and apologized for being brash. I shook his hand and told him there are no hard feelings.
