I'm so disappointed! I want to support local businesses as much as possible, esp when I frequent nearby establishments (yoga, feed store). I stopped in later in the afternoon and wanted an iced decaf. The barista offered to make an americano on ice. It was surprisingly inexpensive at $3.50 so I left a $2 tip. I added some sugar and left. I headed to Felton and then took my first sip. My mistake. I should have tasted it there. That's when I noticed it was the color of tea. The pic is after I drove up to Scott's valley so some ice had melted.

Typically coffee nine has such great food and coffee, especially the avalanche, but this time when I got a c9 breakfast sandwich there was a hair inside of the sandwich almost cooked into the egg. Service and food is typically great so it feels really bad to gave gotten an unsanitary bite this time.

We loved it here! I got the breakfast sandwich and a mocha. They have alternative milk options and the ability to make some changes to the food (I asked them no cheese). The food and coffee was great and it was a cozy spot to enjoy it. Also, shoutout to the barista who was attentive to our needs!

was driving through town after a wedding and in desperate need for a breakfast burrito and coffee and this place hit the mark AND had such cute outdoor seating. it really fit the vibe of santa cruz/ben lomond. the two people working answered all my questions and were helpful. in addition to hot food they had quiches and donuts/baked goods ready to grab. they also have a section to buy art/crafts from local artists which was fun to browse. if i ever open a coffee shop id want it to be just like this!

Great service. Espresso not strong enough. It was a blah latte even though I had them add an additional shot

Coffee is good, nice pastries and bagels. Sadly it takes an extremely unusual amount of time to get a coffee.

As we got off the freeway, she looked up and there was a coffee shop right down the street. He stopped in here for a quick bite. The two barista is helping us were incredibly helpful and patient since we had to read everything on the menu. I also loved how their store was set up and they sold local arts and crafts from the community! I love the community aspect here in Santa Cruz County! Perhaps she misread the menu, but she thought "egg stacker" was a sandwich because it was under the "bagel sandwich "category. But under the description, it does not say there's any bread. Lol, which is better for us since we're trying to be gluten-free for the day. I had an ice green tea and a salmon egg which was delicious and filling perfectly made egg with the right amount of capers and seasoning for each bite to have enough flavor on it. The green tea was perfect since it was 92°! I can't wait till we get to the beach! I was sad. They didn't have any nitro coffee, but I will definitely come back to try more pastries since it seems like they were out but then again we got there about 30 minutes before they closed. Lol.

I love a place that makes seasonal drinks and that are friendly and happy to serve you. They have a lot of options for things to buy whether it's dessert or a breakfast pastry. The location is super random. It's like on the side of like a bus stop area, but the coffee is so good and I can't wait till I'm in the area again to order more and actually sit and enjoy it when I don't have to rush to a meeting. Everyone was super nice and friendly and had a great morning vibes.

They now change $0.25 for to-go cups, which I guess is a Santa Cruz ordinance. Can you imagine them doing that elsewhere? Oooooh my city would make a killing off that! Husband got his usual cold brew ($6.25 inc cup fee). No complaints except they don't fill it to the brim even if you don't want room for milk/cream. I got a tiramisu latte ($8.25 inc cup fee). I could see why they call it a tiramisu latte because of the mascarpone foam and the lady finger. It was decent, but I think I would have enjoyed a standard vanilla latte more. I also personally didn't like how the cold foam dripped down the side of the cup because it got all over my hands! As a former barista, I always made sure my drinks were clean before handing them out.

There were 2 people working there and behind the counter. No one greeted us. We looked at the menu and though we could have ordered at the counter, the staff didn't seem friendly like they wanted to be approached so we chose to order at the computerized kiosk! Other Yelpers said prices were average, but I thought the drinks were expensive! They start around $7 but that most do not include toppings, and each topping was $0.75. That adds up! (My go-to boba place in Santa Cruz has boba for $5.50, which includes 2 toppings, so....this seems like highway robbery.) Due to the high prices, out of three of us, we only ordered two drinks and only one of the drinks had an added topping. When they were done making the drinks, one drink had the plastic top sealed on and the other was placed on the counter. The staffer walked away. I was unsure if I should just take the drinks. They were clearly our drinks (I could see they were ours, plus we were the only customers), but it was odd the man put the drink there and walked away without saying anything! No communication, no eye contact. Nothing. After several minutes, he returned to complete the plastic cup cover sealing, and then he placed the cup in front of me. No "thank you", no "here you go", no "enjoy", nothing. It was odd. Other than the prices, the flavor of the boba was okay in flavor and chewiness, but the strawberry matcha drink had effects that, let's just say, caused someone hours of bathroom trips! We don't know if it was the milk or some other ingredient, but something was not right. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Soul Sweet. The store looked so cute in the photos, I think it had potential, but the freshness is important and price is an important factor.
