If I could give 10 stars I would! Can't believe all the trips I've taken to Felton, I've never came across this place. The absolute best espresso, the bagels & breakfast burritos are such a treat, all feel like they were made with real love. The 2 separate times I've been, I've experienced great customer service & the place has such a nice little vibe to it. People complain about the prices, but this is 2026, everything is expensive & you pay top dollar for good things. Can totally just go to McDonalds & get your $2 coffee if you're in a bind. Also, make sure to check out the mugs & body care stuff they have displayed on shelves as well. This will be our regular spot every time we head that way! read more

I love the ambiance of Coffee 9 but the sandwiches are such a disappointment. I had one of their chicken sandwiches made fresh and it was terrible. Chicken was super dry and hard. Sandwich had almost no flavor. My friend had a similar experience with the roast beef. I hope the management reads this and gets the quality back. read more

A friend lives in the area and said they've never had a bad sandwich here. However we didn't think this quite lived up. $67 total including tip for 4 sandwiches and a smoothie. We found a parking spot in their little lot on a Sunday around noon. Several left, and many people just park on the street in the front. Small line, it was busy, but plenty of tables open. We did have to wait maybe 10-15 minutes for our food. Bathrooms are outside, ask for their key, it's very clean. Southwest chicken sandwich - 3 stars. We stopped in for some breakfast burritos to go. Coming from Denver, where burritos are a staple, these felt a little underwhelming by comparison. The egg and potato burrito was exactly that--just egg and potato, without much else to balance it out. The potatoes were very heavily seasoned, which overpowered things a bit. I'm so disappointed! I want to support local businesses as much as possible, esp when I frequent nearby establishments (yoga, feed store). I stopped in later in the afternoon and wanted an iced decaf. The barista offered to make an americano on ice. It was surprisingly inexpensive at $3.50 so I left a $2 tip. I added some sugar and left. I headed to Felton and then took my first sip. My mistake. I should have tasted it there. That's when I noticed it was the color of tea. Plant-based milk alternatives are widely recognized as more environmentally sustainable and are preferred by many customers for health and dietary reasons. Owner is rude, defensive, and condescending - she has zero interest in the customer's experience. I've never met a coffee shop owner with a worse attitude. Go to Tree House in Boulder Creek, White Raven in Felton or Mountain Roasting in Felton and support business owners with a heart and a willingness to listen to their customers. I will never return to coffee 9 and I will do everything I can to steer the vast amount of people I know in SLV to other small local coffee shops. read more

I have been avoiding writing this review. I'm not sure how to rate it. 2? 3? GAH! I guess let's settle on a 2.5. The good: Coffee Nine is a cute local coffee shop in the heart of Ben Lomond. They have a pretty good sized food menu for a coffee shop with items like bagels, breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, and freshly made sandwiches. Their location right off nine is convenient for a quick pit stop. The not so good: My experiences here (food and drink wise) have sadly been lackluster. I've ordered multiple drinks over the past few years and none of them made me say "dang, that was good I will definitely reorder that." Last time I went I ordered a toasted bagel with cream cheese and a dirty chai. The chai was pretty flavorless and watery (maybe too much ice?) and the bagel tasted like cardboard. I ended up throwing half of the bagel away which is something I never do. I love bagels! But I didn't love that one. Sad panda. On a side note, maybe their menu is too extensive for a standard coffee shop. My last barista seemed pretty stressed and was trying to cashier and also make sandwiches so I sympathize with her. I like supporting small local businesses so that specific experience and the previous ones won't keep me from returning. I will keep an open mind and keep trying! read more

was driving through town after a wedding and in desperate need for a breakfast burrito and coffee and this place hit the mark AND had such cute outdoor seating. it really fit the vibe of santa cruz/ben lomond. the two people working answered all my questions and were helpful. in addition to hot food they had quiches and donuts/baked goods ready to grab. they also have a section to buy art/crafts from local artists which was fun to browse. if i ever open a coffee shop id want it to be just like this! read more

Typically coffee nine has such great food and coffee, especially the avalanche, but this time when I got a c9 breakfast sandwich there was a hair inside of the sandwich almost cooked into the egg. LOVE this place, but coffee is SO BAD! My husband and I love our coffee dates here but the coffee has been getting more and more watered down, now to the point of being undrinkable. Today it was the color of herbal tea and I could see right through it. :( To the owner: customers go to coffee shops for a good cup of coffee. Love our local coffee shop! We've been in Ben Lomond over 7 years now, and used to occasionally come here until Mo took over (last year?) and since then, my little family of three comes here at least once a week! The food is so much more amazing now! I love their iced coffee and my usual breakfast is a bacon, egg & cheese on a jalapeño cheese bagel that I split with my son. My husband has had a variety of breakfast options here as well as many of the pastries/donuts, and they are always good. Service is super friendly, the patrons who come here are always lovely and sometimes very chatty (in a wonderful, mountain community way). It's a great weekend ritual getting to stop by here. For the past few years this place has been great. I always had great service. Had a confrontation with the new owner that made me hesitant to return. But I thought "give it another try". Asked for a ham and cheese croissant and heated. I got my coffee and stood at the end counter for ten minutes waiting for it. The order taker was at the register counting pennies with another employee. When I finally got her attention and asked when I would get my food, she reached up and took the croissant out of the display and took it back to be heated. I waited another 5 minutes. No apology given. I said "I won't be back" and she just turned back to counting pennies and told the other employee what I said. Didn't hear her retort. So no - I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Coffee Nine is my morning coffee spot because their coffee is good, affordable, and they have a 'serve yourself' bar where I can get my coffee, put cash in the can, and go. Especially in the mornings it's super convenient. The only downside is that the carafes don't get refilled promptly so I sometimes have to go with one of the other roasts (house blend is my favorite for its medium strength). Oh, and sometimes hazelnut ends up in the wrong carafe so smell it before you fill your cup. They have a good variety of bagels, donuts, and recently chocolate bundt cake. Dense, rich, with a tender crumb and a bittersweet glaze to complement the sweetness of the cake. At the moment it is my favorite chocolate cake anywhere. There is nothing like a cake made from scratch. I've had lunch there only once and enjoyed it--the meatball sandwich was good, plenty of meatballs, a nicely balanced tomato sauce, on a crunchy roll. No complaints other than it was too big to eat in one sitting but not big enough to save half for later. It also helps that there's a Bay Federal ATM attached to the building and an awesome little gas station across the street, so I can get a lot of morning errands done in one place. read more

Was in town for the weekend and wanted to support a local coffee shop. The coffee and food were great! Prices were fair I'd say, especially since they matched the quantity and quality. Definitely worth it to try :) They also had what looked like a 'grab-n-go' coffee station which had tons of drip coffee options and you place money in the box. I feel like this more speaks to the environment and spirit of the town and the shop (ie friendly and neighbourly). Overall great place to go! read more

Probably one of the worst coffee shops I've ever been to. The woman who is the barista has the worst customer service I've ever seen and I've been a barista myself. She is very rude and has a gross attitude. She sighed so loud when I told her she made my drink wrong and proceeded to tell her coworker she was having such a bad day but when I walked in she was sitting on her phone? I've been here about 3 times but I would honestly drive the opposite way to Tree House cafe in Boulder creek or Cruise Coffee in Scotts valley. save your money the coffee is a 3/10 and their service is a 0/10. Really quaint little spot in the mountains. I dropped in looking for a space to grab a cup and a light breakfast, while i jumped on the WiFi and worked a bit. I grabbed some self serve coffee which was "just coffee" nothing real special about it, and a chorizo breakfast burrito which was microwaved. When my burrito was being microwaved i knew i messed up and ordered the wrong thing. The burrito wasn't oily which was a plus, but it did look and feel like cat food inside. Probably will never order a chorizo burrito again in my life after eating that. It didn't taste terrible, but it wasn't delicious i can tell you that much. The service and the friendly feel of the patrons was the big plus here. WiFi was strong, and plenty of seating even though the place wasn't huge. Everyone was kind, helpful and with a smile on their face. I'd return if i am in the area and try something else from the menu for sure. read more
