It's very easy to overlook this small drive-up coffee shop as you drive through Cortland on Port Watson Street, but - as I discovered from my sister-in-law who lives in the area - locals know it as "the place" to pick up their morning/afternoon/evening (or whenever!) coffee! Why? Because they have all sorts of good coffee and lots of different kinds of flavor shots, if you're into that sort of thing. They also have a great variety of muffins, scones, rice krispy bars, etc, if you'd like to take along a little snack. And... wow, are they friendly! Always pleasant and extremely welcoming. I live out of town, but whenever I happen to be in the Cortland, NY area, I always see my Google Maps app to take me to Coffee Mania on Port Watson Street. By the way, this is only a drive-up establishment - no place to sit and put your feet up - but grab that great cup of coffee (and maybe a tasty snack) and head off to wherever you're going. Just tried CM's Sea of Tranquility decaf and Wow- terrific flavor and aroma that pairs great with 460/french roast regular coffee for a "half-caf". Also, putting the roasting date on the bags is fantastic- I will buy more! read more

Amazing. Stopped by on our way to Philadelphia and thought we would take a chance. We are Starbucks freaks and had very low expectations. This would be my go to coffee place if it weren't four hours from my house. The staff were so accommodating and friendly we thought they were the owners. The coffee was delicious perfection! The staff went on to tell us how they roast their own beans and it was friendly quick and very reasonably priced. The absolute perfect experience! Anytime I'm near this town I will be at this place! This is the number one coffee place in the country. The customer service is the best there is. They have their own brands with amazing specialty drinks. A must stop off the highway but locals LOVE and wait on drive through lines every morning! It's well worth it. read more

I know this is going to sound weird, and I love so much about this coffee place but the very first thing you must do is buy a 20 ounce metal tumbler. I am a lover of cups and they are the best in the world. I probably own no shy of 30 and only 3 from here and I just keep washing and using the 3 I have. You also get your first drink free with the cup which is a great deal. I was getting iced coffee with cream and hazelnut and it was fantastic but then I found a list of different combos they'll make and I've been ordering that and they've all been great. I love their social media on both facebook and Instagram as well. I've also had their chicken salad and chocolate covered coffee beans and they are both amazing. I've been to 2 different locations and the staff at both was so nice. I'm so grateful I found this place. Also I read somewhere that they did these for kind of an out west coffee drive thru feel and they nailed it! I lived out west for a year and a half and it was the best coffee time in my life and they hold up their own so I'm just so so grateful for this company. :) read more

After moving to Syracuse I am only able to get "good" coffee when I visit Cortland. I stopped by to the Groton Ave location and picked up my usual large latte. I have a ritual as most true coffee drinkers do, mine is to take off the lid to inspect the quality of the milk frothing. I like to try the froth first then drink the latte. When I opened up the top this morning my reaction was literally "Wow". Best latte foam ever! It was like espresso colored silk, I don't know how they did it but it was amazing. This is bittersweet though because it has made the sorry excuse for coffee I usually get in Syracuse even worse, but it makes me remember why I used to set aside $3 every day for that amazing latte. Glad to see nothing has changed at Coffee Mania, if anything you've gotten better! read more

Traveling through the area and wanted coffee and a yelp search led me here. It is very small. I would never have found it on my own. But I am so glad I stopped. This place really deserves all of the hype that it gets. I've been coming here for two years since I've moved to Cortland and I'm convinced it's some of the best coffee and tea that I've ever had in my life. My personal favorite has always been the Amaretto Iced Chai or the Cold Care Tea, however they will make virtually anything you want to suit your tastes. In that regard, the baristas are always very friendly and genuinely want to serve the public. How often can you say that about a place? When I inevitably move away in the next few years this is the one place that I will miss! It actually makes Cortland notable! read more
