Popovers go fast though it sounds like they do re-make them throughout the day. I was fortunate enough to get the last one of the day 30 minutes before closing. Very disappointed customers followed me. My point is don't be dumb like me and wait until the last day of your trip for popovers. Try early. And boy was it worth it. The popover itself is not particularly sweet which suits my taste. Then you add maple butter and blueberry jam to your liking. My husband and I split that final precious pop over down at the park since there is no seating at coffee hound. Wow where do I begin! I have never tried a popover before but now that I have I don't know how I'm supposed to live without them! And the star of the show is definitely their homemade wild blueberry jam that is served with the popovers. It tasted so good and the spices added into it just made the flavor even better. I also tried a Precipice latte which was blueberry syrup with white chocolate mocha. It was all delicious we came back every morning we were here! I stopped by here earlier today with wife for our breakfast and morning coffee. Coffee Hound is located on Main Street right near the harbor. The inside of this place is small with two 2 tops and then a food bar near the window where you can stand. The floor is hardwood and the walls are a turquoise blue and have some nice aluminum pictures of Acadia on one side and pictures of coffee shops on the other. Not only do they serve coffee here but they also serve both sweet and savory crepes. For breakfast on this morning I decided to go with a cappuccino and a ham and cheese croissant while my wife went with a drip coffee and lobster roll crepe. I first tried my croissant which even though it was supposed to have been heated was still cold. It tasted nicely though as the the croissant was crispy on the outside, the ham added some saltiness, the cheese some savory ness and the eggs were sort of silky. My wife's lobster roll crepe actually had a surprising amount of lobster for the price (see picture) and she enjoyed it. My cappuccino here was actually made quite nicely with the proper portions of espresso and milk and foam. The first sip was all foam before I made it through into the bottom 2/3rds of it. Underneath all of that foam the steamed milk was nice with the coffee which produced a dark and rich flavor. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My coffee and food were good and my wife enjoyed her lobster roll crepe as well. read more

This is a decent coffee bar with an amazing view and location. I had a latte with almond milk, and it was ok. I would have enjoyed a darker, smoother flavor, but then again, I got spoiled with great coffee. On the other hand, their maple crepes are pretty fantastic. Thin, with a little crisp is how I like my crepes. To top it off, they have a really great location and friendly service. I also do appreciate that they use local roasters in Maine, and they use compostable utensils, so that was a big plus. We are In town for a few days and have come here everyday for breakfast and coffee! Best crepes HANDS DOWN. The lobster crepe is a must and the sauce is delicious. I got the maple leaf latte twice on separate days. The first cup was perfectly prepared smooth coffee. The second cup on another day was extremely sweet. Seemed like they added 4oz of maple syrup in the bottom of the cup. The more i drink , the more intolerably sweet it tasted , so I told the cashier and she said the mix depends on who the barista is. I enthusiastically agreed. Once back in the car and hurrying to make our reservation at Acadia, I took a sip of my drink. It was cloyingly sweet--this might be my fault for ordering a sweet drink (it is a maple iced latte, after all), but I did think that the proposed "half sweet" would make a considerable difference. To me, it seemed impossible that this was really half the usual sweetness; if it was, the regular drink must be a lump of sugar with some coffee sprinkled on it (which, to be fair, I know plenty of people like). The Traveling Blueberry Pie was flaky, sweet, and delicious. My pups actually snagged a bite while I was eating in the car-- it's people and dog approved! My husband enjoyed his toasted Everything Bagel with cream cheese. I was hoping that their lattes would have more of a variety of ingredients. There were many that sounded good, but most contained mocha. I wish there would have been a little more diversity in the latte choices, but I did end up finding some good parts to Coffee Hound. Also, the place is very narrow and can get cramped when the line to order and the line to pick up get intermingled. This place is super cute!! They don't have a sign on their door, so we weren't sure, but they totally let you bring your pup in! (You would think a shop called Coffee Hound would, after all.). Not only did they let the pup in, they made him a pupaccino! (Whipped cream with a dog bisquit on top). The coffee was delicious! There were so many wonderful choices that I accidentally ordered the wrong thing and was still pleasantly surprised. We went back the following day and got more coffee and crepes! Which they serve folded up like a cone and they are ginormous! Not the best crepe I've ever had... but the experience of having a giant cone crepe was pretty cool. I was traveling on a cruise with my family and one of our stops was Bar Harbor. I needed a coffee fix and wanted to try a local stop. We decided to try Coffee Hound and I am so glad we did. It was very small with very friendly people. On the menu they had traditional espresso drinks and some different lattes. I had the Maple Latte and my brother had the matcha latte. The maple latte was flavored with pure Maine maple syrup. It was delicious!! My brother really enjoyed his matcha latte as well. Bar Harbor was one of my favorite stops on the cruise. As a person who hates to waste money on bad coffee, I had to come warn folks about this place. We ordered two iced oat milk lattes, and one of them came out made with half and half. When I asked for it to be remade, the person in charge (might have been the owner) appeared within 30 seconds with a different drink. I was so confused, but below here in the comments the owner admits that they pre-make their "espresso" in a process that sounds really similar to how you make cold brew. As a longtime barista with a pretty firm grasp on espresso quality control, this is pretty inexcusable. People pay for fresh espresso and to serve them anything else is unacceptable. We went back the following day because the coffee options in Bar Harbor are a little slim. I figured I couldn't go wrong with a cold brew. I paid close to $5 for what was, without a doubt, regular coffee that had been refrigerated and put over ice. Why even pretend it is cold brew? Do they really not know the difference? Just steer clear of you care about the quality of your coffee. read more

They have about 6-8 specialty coffee drinks with witty names and if I drank coffee, I would definitely have had one of those but instead I chose a tea latte which, turns out, had an adorable name! The dribble I ordered was called the Bar Harbor Fog which was made from blueberry merlot tea, steamed milk, and blueberry syrup and it was yummy! Not too sweet but definitely fun to drink! If you're looking for pastries, this may be the place for you - they work with a local baker who provides them with blueberry hand pies and they looked delicious!!!!
