The ambience and feel of the place was really nice. They have a lot of outdoor seating and indoor seating - I loved the little nook at the back of the store. The workers were also nice and friendly. We went on a weekday around 11am on a not very hot day so it wasn't busy. The green tea Bingsoo is definitely worth it and taste great. The inside was a nice setup and they had more chairs and tables in the back, that looked like it would be good for a study group/work station. Amazing place to check out it if you're looking for shaved ice. I found the shaved ice here to be better than most - less watery and more creamy without the ice feeling too mushy or wet. The ice shavings were most likely flash frozen/dried as they're pretty much dry as an oven. Fear not, as soon as you put them in your mouth, you get a frozen explosion of flavors. The bingsu (korean shaved ice explained above) is basically the main selling point - I'd say this is more new age bingsu than traditional but delicious regardless. They have a couple of bingsu platters. The most popular if you haven't by the pictures is the green tea/matcha variant - matcha ice cream w/ matcha shaved ice and a taiyaki (japanese pastry-ish cake thing filled with ice cream within) with side of almonds/red beans etc. Sounds too good to be true right? Well for me it was - because they ran out of taiyaki and I couldn't order the matcha shaved ice! On a Friday at 4pm. Are you kidding me? This place should be renamed Bingsoo Factory instead of Coffee Factory, as their coffee is really nothing special. It seems like most people come here for the bingsoo anyway. That being said, I've tried 2 of their bingsoo flavors: Green tea and mango. I definitely prefer the green tea. Comes with mochi, a decent sized scoop of green tea ice cream, red bean served in a separate cup and an ice cream fish sandwich (that I'm 99% sure they buy from H-Mart). Their mango bingsoo doesn't taste good. I'm not sure if the mango is even fresh, tastes like its from a can. They have a cute study room in the back, which I see a lot of people taking advantage of. My boyfriend and I got the matcha ice (I think that's what it's called. It's also #3 on the menu). It was $14 which is reasonably priced for the amount you get. It is matcha shaved ice (but very flavorful) A lot of shaved ice is just ice with a hint of the dressing but this one was very matcha and came with A LOT of it. There was also a Green tea samanco in it, matcha ice cream, lots of mochi, and a side of red bean. I would say it could serve 3-4 people but my boyfriend and I finished ours no problem (dessert lovers and food hoarders what can I say) would come again with more people. The portion of a single order of ice flakes is huge and can definitely be shared between 3-4 people. My friends and I have tried the mixed grain ice flakes, coffee ice flakes, and the green tea ice flakes. All of them had fluffy shaved ice that was definitely flavorful and strong (especially the green tea and coffee one). One of our favorite places to stop by after a nice meal has always been Coffee Factory. Located just off of the Murray Hill LIRR stop, this little cafe serves up great desserts, coffees and teas. I've only been here a couple of times, but each time I leave so satisfied. On our first visit, we tried the Green Tea Shaved Ice Flakes which is really meant for 3-4 people. Everyone shares and gets a little taste of Green Tea Ice Cream, Taiyaki Fish with Red Bean, Mochi and Ice. It all just works together so well. I HIGHLY recommend. On our second visit, we tried the Chocolate Lava Cake paired with a Tea and it was just absolutely wonderful. The Lava Cake was topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, almond slivers and vanilla ice cream. It is a little on the sweeter side, but the tea was perfect to balance it all out. I bookmarked this place for forever and finally got to try it last week! My friend and I walked in on a Friday night around 7:00 PM. There wasn't too many people situated so no line to order. We went for the Green Tea Ice Flakes and loved it! The portion can feed about 3-4 people. The ice flakes were very soft and fluffy and the green tea flavor was on point! It comes with a side order of red bean that you can pour on the ice flakes for extra flavoring - I highly recommend it as it is great combo! In addition, it comes with a huge fish ice cream sandwich filled with vanilla ice cream and red bean paste. The portion justifies the price of the order (around $13.00). The staff here are really nice and attentive. My friend had a question about the Stump Town coffee they were selling and the staff took her time explaining it to him - she even helped us grind the coffee beans! This place has been in my bookmarks for the longest time ever. I always saw the green tea bingsoo on my Instagram feed and I was salivating each time. For one, don't underestimate the size of this bingsoo. It comes with the norm amount of shaved ice, but also has mochi, a scoop of ice cream, a side of sweet red bean, nicely toasted sliced almonds, and vanilla ice cream filled fish. This is meant to be enjoyed an additional 1-2 friends (or you can finish it all by yourself...not gonna judge). I ordered two for 6 people and we were struggling to finish hehe Latte: they make it just how I like it, filled to the rim and made with cute latte art. The tables are pretty small in the front and seats at most groups of 2 or 3. There are some booths that seats 4 but those were taken when I was there.
